Elvis was far more than just a singer and celebrity. He was truly indeed, a special man and one-of-a-kind human being. Sure, Elvis was a private man, in his private life. He had every right to have a life that was his and his alone, and to be able to, maintain his privacy amid a lot of prying eyes being on him. Elvis was really a wonderful soul, in every way, and that is because he did connect with people from all walks of his life. People did, and still do love Elvis, but they don't really know the man he was in his private life. He was a different person entirely. He was humble, down to earth, genuine, and truly caring.

I didn't know him and I never met him nor have I ever seen him in concert. However, I did grow up on his music. He was a beautiful human being. Inside and out. Not without flaws, but very lovely soul.
Well I knew him personally. In fact he wrote and sang the song Return To Sender about me after I repeatedly snubbed his affections and his sexual advances. But the part about me sending his letters back is simply baseless.

The thing is, Elvis became his image. He was all that in real life as well. There sadly wasn’t a difference anymore. He was a pill popping, stubborn, crazy, aggressive playboy who slept with multiple women everyday and changed them like underwear. It’s not like he was a completely different person off stage, if anything, he was honestly worse than the image he portrayed to be. Nobody knew his dark side and sadly, him off stage turned out to be more disappointing than it ever could be.
It was really refreshing to hear someone saying good things about Elvis. Thanks Sam Thompson.

I went to 2 of his concerts and he was fantastic. He had his falts but he was great entrtainer.
Red West, the nice guy on the right in the picture above, was the one who took my sister and me up to see Elvis in his dressing room. She had a camera, but never even thought to ask if she could take his picture . We do have memories though. Red was very kind and Elvis was absolutely wonderful and very considerate.

Such drivel from the "bodyguard". A lot of those Memphis Mafia boys were just that....boys who didn't mature past 6th grade and tried to gatekeep The KING just like Parker. Both tried desperately to keep ELVIS less accessible to others. And it's even a rarity to find a black pop singer who can sing gospel. Not being nasty or rude, but I don't believe I've ever heard (or heard of) one single white person who can sing gospel. But I'd love to sit and listen to one that can. That would be very interesting (the oddity and uniqueness of it, that is).
