Very good and comprehensive overview of what Plaits is capable of. It's an extremely underrated module, so I'm happy to see it's getting some due love and care. I use it very frequently as well. It's hard to call any favourite modes, as most are very good once you really get to work with them. But the string mode you use in the Cello Player is brilliant, and well used. I also need to play with mode switching. I fell of my chair when I saw the LEDs jump around in the first track, Controversy. It's probably the one feature of Plaits I haven't used yet.
thanks ! Yes, using mode selection via CV is pure gold, it's like having x Plaits to play the same time ! Most of Emilie's module are out of this pplanet! Thanks for your words.

Is there a way to control the Model input in Plaits using a Key Step Pro? Just like you're doing at "House of House"? Tried to use a track CV for it, but had no success :/ btw, one of the greatest Plaits videos out there, congrats!
thank you! Yeah, I'd say with a cv track, weird it didn't make it. Can't try here for I don't have my pro anymore. A mod track should do the trick, if you got your Plaits on the second hand market, make sure the Model input has not been repurposed (some alt. FW can do that)
It would be really nice if you could write up some patch notes. Ive watched some of the patches a couple of times but because of the camera angles and black patch cables, its hard to decipher whats happening.
@@Audiorial Thanks! The ones I was trying to work out were: @ 1:50 - Cello Player - Is there only modulation on the morph? Whats going on with the 'level' input? Are you sending multi-octave notes into it to get it to tweak (Sounds like early Autechre 'Incunabula'/'Amber' era) @9:14 House Of House - How is it that the module is on the chord setting but the other lights flashing similar to when using the drum/perc settings? Is sending cv into the 'harmonics' input changing the chord? @12:57 The AI took acid - Is this simply changing the model to get such a wide range of perc, noise & bleeps or are you modulating the morph & harmonics as well? Its the same with the first patch as well - you have a regular bass note but IDM style perc flickering away. All just modulating the model?
for Cello player, yes only "morph" receives direct modulation, but the internal decay env also modulate both timbre and FM (nothing patched in the trig in). Yes, the note sent are quantized and spread over 3 octaves, i I remember well. for the House of House, when modulated, the model input changes the model type, so with the right voltage youu can make the module to jump froom a model type to another. I started on the chord model and sent cv around that model to build a track. AI Acid is one more complex, yes changing the model opens up a wide palette of sounds, almost all the input are driven by LFOs
I have a question about HOUSE OF HOUSE patch, I understand that you are using notes CV to control the MODE, but I don't fully understand how the FM 2op model is "pulsating" and used as a sort-of baseline sound while switching the others modes (which I assume change through the mode input). Is this a default behaviour or some recent updates?
@@Audiorial never mind, I realized what I was asking is just the default behaviour of the MODE selection: "When this CV input is modulated, two LEDs are lit: the steadily lit LED indicates the current model, and the slowly blinking LED indicates the central value, which would be obtained with a CV of 0V and which is still modifiable with the buttons [A]." I was referring to the "slowly blinking" of the central model value.
