Fun fact: These input codes are Aurebesh letters and translate to THX which is probably a reference to George Lucas' movie THX 1138 or his company THX Ltd.
You can tell Favreau and Co played this game. That is one of the things I really like about the Mandalorian series: It really has the vibe of the old EU Star Wars and references it by copying elements of it. The Doomgiver with the forked front and the pods is nearly identical with the Dark trooper fridge in the finale from series 2. And they avoid using the ridiculous "first order" term for the Imperials and give them more of a literal "remnant" vibe in the show. Some obscure leftover outposts and old officers that try to re-establish the empire's grip on the galaxy.
IKR. Also the Amban rifle which looks like the real-life version of the sniper rifle from the game. And the laboratory on Nevarro, which was experimenting on infusing people with the Force, seemed as a new take on the JKII story. Only with Grogu's blood instead of the crystals from Artus.
@@Eltaurus The crystal story was used for Rogue One, another fantastic "EU"-like movie that was heavily inspired by existing SW tropes instead of making up weird new shit.
Wait, are you saying that the game that came out in 2002 copied a TV show that came out in 2019? Heck I think even that cartoon "the clone wars" came out of this game, Favreau based that entire tv show (The Mandalorian) on the Dark Forces game series (thankfully). The pods on the Doomgiver is probably based on the original Dark Force game, on the Ark Hammer ship.
The correct question is: what happened to you that you no longer can? Maybe game design has been becoming ever more simplified. Maybe attention spans have been dramatically shortening.
You wanna know something funny? When I used to play this back on the Gamecube, I always used to just toy with the Stormtrooper in the elevator with the Mind Trick. Each time he snapped out of it, I just put him back in the trance until I got bored and went on with the level. Good times.
I got lost on this level AGAIN. I’ve played hundreds of games in my 20 years of gaming. This game is #1 on most frustrating list. I just wanted to say THANK YOU 🙏🏻 SO MUCH for making these videos. I would’ve probably died from a heart attack by now, if not for your videos. So, thank you 🙏🏻 so much 😎
The disorientation of the Interrogator Droid reminds me of whenever U get hit by the Xenomorphs tail as the Marine or Predator from Aliens vs Predator 2.
I remember playing this as a kid, had to repeat many steps back then lol. Especially this level set. Thanks for the guide. It's really cool to see this aspect of the game! Some things I didn't even know you could do after playing this game all these years!
Of all my years playing this game, I have never seen that easter egg before. I guess this proves no matter how hard Disney may try... the Expanded Universe will ALWAYS be real :) Also the fact it is the "Expanded Universe" doesn't necessarily mean it takes place in 1 galaxy...
The word "Yeah" is really annoying. I like these videos but way too many sentences end with the word "Yeah" when it doesn't belong in the sentence. So many people say "Umm" between sentences but this guy says "Yeah" between sentences just as badly.
You never heard that before? Gee.. when I was growing up my grandmother would always use that as a response to my "hey!" Exclamations. Lol. I guess yea not everyone would know it its just a surprise to me.
Even today, the level design can be confusing sometimes. Love the game, but it could be frustrating wandering around thinking the level glitched. This actually happened to me after contacting Rogue Squadron. As for SW taking place in a galaxy "far, far away", I believed for ages that it took place in either the Triangulum or Andromeda galaxies (the latter being closest one to the Milky Way) and that ancestors of humans were transported there by an alien race to serve an unknown purpose. I like to think the aliens in question died out before the usage of humans in their plans could take place. Seeing that Earth easter egg was great.
Just realized this Level in Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is basically Kyle Katarn on a Destroyer bridge in Hyperspace just about to get attacked by stormtroopers Just like Ahsoka’s Order 66 on Venator scene ^^ I like this game even more now!

Lol that reborn in the lift at 4:38 I switched to the strong style, went in took a lunge and sliced him in half before he’d even had a chance to strike up his sabre.
Imagine being a stormtrooper having to deal with Kyle Katarn, seeing your buddies die left and right from a blue lightsaber. Deflecting their shots back at them and losing limbs to him... You'd probably shit yourself.
Imagine just walking into these rooms and seeing just 10-15 stormtroopers piled up at the front door because Kyle just force pulls everyone in the room and hacks them in the ground hahah
You can disarm enemies by force pulling their weapon. If you keep a gun pointing at them they will surrender and you can make them walk to where you want. Then you let them walk in to the metro, and take them with you and let his friends accidentally kill him on the other side. That's what I used to do as a kid in this level
Thanks for the walkthrough. I saw the easter egg and you said I wonder whats going on (looks like an explosion or impact). Since Star Wars is from a long time ago, could it be the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs?
Oh, listening to the voice that might by Tycho, not Wedge leading Rogue Squadron. Still evidence that the doomgiver's external pods hold more than one actual drop pod.
If you take too long with the r5 unit in unlocking the door, the stormtroopers will turn hostile. I wanted to check it with notarget on and you could hear the officers and stormtroopers: "Let's see some ID". "Give up, Rebel!"
At 18:20 the Doomgiver comes out of hyperspace in orbit of Yavin 4 where the jedi academy is there. What d'you think of my opinion on that (Feel free to state a reply)
I dont know if this has happened to anybody else, but i was deflecting blaster shots from a turret in this level and it put a second kyle in the same position as the regular. It wont even go away when i intentionally die or restart the game or turn it off and on again. Went away when i opened a previous save game, but came back once i got back to here.

I just started watching, but would communicators even work in hyperspace? That just seems really weird.
Now that I think about it, yeah. It seems like they shouldn't work, but eh, video game logic.
In the old EU on a big enough ship FTL communications can work in Hyperspace. In the New Canon any ship can do it.
