I modify a strat so that the bridge pickup is connected to a tone control. Quick video plus some sounds of the mod. Guitar is a 60's classic player strat. A really useful mod for a strat!
What would be great is if you could have the neck pickup tone pot control both the bridge and the neck at the same time seeing as with a traditional 5 way switch these can't be on together anyway
Many have suggested you connect the 1st tone control to BOTH the neck and middle pickup and the 2nd one to the bridge pickup. How would you do this? That way you don't need to leave one wide open.
Seems to make sense to have tone control on the bridge to roll off some of the brightness if you want to!
Add a small jumper wire between neck tone connection and unused bridge tone connection. Bridge and neck pickups are NOT on together... ever. See ?

that is exactly what I do and why... The bridge tone tab on the switch is free.... add a small jumper from it to the neck tone tab and you are done.

Leave the original wiring as they were then add a jumper wire between the two lugs he's pointing to on the selector switch at the 1:00 mark.
Solder a jumper wire from the first to the second lug.
