My first introduction to CZ was this firearm on a range with a friend. Being a Marine I know how to shoot and shot expert for 4 years on the beretta M92. Saying that, I unloaded a 10 round mag at 7 yards and kept a 1.5" group. Of all the sidearms I have shot in my existence, this is by far the smoothest and easiest to shoot and held the smallest groups I have ever shot. I like it better than browning, Glock, S&W and Beretta. This, to me, is the perfect gun. Thanks for the review.
My 1st CZ SP75 01 WAS JUNK FROM THE GET GO USED ! THAT WAS MY 1ST MISTAKE AND NOW I GOT A BRAND NEW ONE I WILL NOT BELIEVE IT WAS MY ISSUE IT WAS THE GUN ,AMMO OR just wore out I will never know why that used cz 75 sp01 failed me but will say my new one will last me a life time old one failed to feed failed to eject round double feed all sort of fails but I love my new one ❤❤ 10 star handgun
My CZ 75 is still my favorite handgun. Nothing else has ever shot as well, or felt better in my hand. The sights area great, and it's accurate as all hell.
CZ pistols are the the shooting world's most underrated gun. I've been shooting a CZ-P01 for a few years now and I can usually put four out of five into a beer bottle cap at thirty feet (slow fire). I have yet to experience a malfunction. It eats ammo other peoples guns won't fire. In U.S. army tests the CZ was four times more reliable than the 1911. Thirty thousand rounds fired...four malfunctions. Ergonomics? Best. Reliability? Unbelievable. Accuracy? None better. Go to gun? Damn right. I've only shot one gun in my life that shoots better....and that's my '65 Colt Python. Nice review on your part.
I just bought my CZ75. I have to admit that I did not find this video before I bought it but I had heard good things about the gun. After having it out at the range and running a considerable amount of ammo through it, I can say that I agree with virtually 100% of everything you've said on this video. You put into words almost exactly my own findings. Keep up with your reviews. I like your take.
@Bryce Czirr p01 is a compact. The sp01 will shoot better for range and duty. It's overall a more fun thing to use. The p01 is great for carry, if you want to carry that weight. Which alot of people I know that carried p01s, eventually got rid of them for something lighter.
@Bryce Czirrsig p365xl, 15 +1. And she is tiny and slim.. m and p shield is also a serious contender. As is the new legion x5 carry , 17+1 - it's slated to release soon.
@Bryce Czirr um. Yeah mine came with 15 round mags from the factory. The legion x5 carry is 17+1. To me the hellcat is competing with glock. It has the same dimensions and thickness and blocky design. The 365 is a thinner gun. In stock and slide from having owned both. I'm not much for the which gun is better debate. At the end of the day be happy with your purchase. Whether it be an mp shield , a Springfield or a sig or a cz
@Bryce Czirr okay yeah. I don't argue with people on the internet. That's silly. Your entitled to your opinion man. Don't need to watch a video. I've handled them
At least he didn't edit it out like most of us would do to avoid it being pointed out in the comments. It's really helpful for respected shooters/reviewers to include their imperfections because people develop expectations after watching "pros" on UA-cam. They think... "I've practiced and practiced but I'll never be as good as - insert pro UA-camr here." Yeah, you will never be that good because they edit out all their flaws which is something you can't do in reality. So, portraying reality is healthy in these videos. One reason that UA-camrs do not portray reality is to avoid being blasted in the comments for being imperfect (as if anyone is perfect).
Everyone flinches at the trigger pull. It's a natural neurological response to knowing that recoil is coming. It is reinforced everytime we pull the trigger on a live round that fires properly. It takes shit loads of constant training and constant dry fire to overcome it. To overcome it, you basically have to train or trick your brain to not anticipate the recoil impulse which is super hard because we absolutely know its coming and our grip and body stance reinforce that
Excellent review!! Entertaining, educational and spot on! I've owned an 75 Spo1 for 10 years and is hands down, the best pistol ever manufactured. That's no exaggeration. The service is also incredible! When my tritium night sights began to fade, I sent the the slide in and also asked if they could replace the recoil spring. They did both without charging me a dime!! Great gun, never once a malfunction and incredibly accurate with little mussel flip as described in the video. Fits like a glove in your hand. Anyone who shoots must own this firearm!
I went through three decades of shooting pistols before I finally got around to shooting a CZ. Then I thought, "HOLY SHIT! Where has this gun been all my life?"
I was married to a browning Hi Power for 30 yrs., but have owned many handguns over the years --just didn't shoot them much because of my love affair with the Browning. I bought a CZ 75B P-01 on a lark. I was so profoundly moved by this handgun that I never shot my Browning again! The P-01 has the same frame as the SP-01, except the barrel is shorter. The gun is amazing in three respects: 1) it’s feel in your hand, 2) the recoil, and 3) the accuracy. I now own a custom CZ P-01 that I believe is the single best 9mm in the world. A CZ 75B Compact L. It a special run by CZ of the P-01 with a right-handed safety and some other subtle changes. I bought the gun The CZ Custom Shop, which does all the custom pistol work for CZ USA (the actual importer for the Cech CZ company). CZ Custom took 20 of these Compact L’s and customized them. They changed the trigger, and did further trigger work, added night sights and a bunch of other stuff inside leaving me with the world's best 9mm. CZ is amazing.
You know what's funny? The first and only gun I have ever fired is my CZ P01 (now at Cajun Gun Works for improvement). I swear that gun, straight from the factory, cared about me and wanted to help me learn to shoot. Impossible, of course, but when you used the word "moved," this is what occurred to me.
I think the height of the slide is what helps with recoil management. Lower specific center of gravity on a reciprocating part would in theory help control-ability. It looks as though the bore axis is quite low too.
welcome to the best kept secret in the pistol owners club. IMO, CZ is best bang for the buck you can own. I feel my 75B is a high end gun that didn't drain my wallet to purchase. it fits my hand like no other and CZ quality is OUTSTANDING.
So, CZ is basically the pistol version of the Mossberg 590A1 and PTR-91F? (Basically, "best bang for your buck" in the shotgun and battle rifle clubs, respectively). In your opinion, if you've handled both guns, what's the main difference between a CZ 75B and the SP-01 quality-wise?
@@vgman94 Oh jesus, this comment is old but Ima still respond anyways. The difference between a CZ-75B and a CZ-75 SP-01 (Tactical or Non-Tactical) is that the slide-release instead of being flat-ish on the top and rounded on the bottom, the slide-release now has a "Staircase" design to it, making it really easy and tactile to actuate. The mag-release button is slightly less circular with a little bit of 'button' extended horizontally, and also extended outwards to make it easier to reach with your thumb. Third, the slide is lighter-weight and has front-serrations thanks to it also having a different frame design, the frame now extended the 'dust cover' out to the muzzle of the gun to add not only a piccatiny rail, but also more mass where the gun can flip. The additional mass makes it slightly heavier, but in the correct place so muzzle flip is less noticeable. The grips are rubber and thickened instead of being thin-ish plastic grips, and the SP-01 has some checkering on the back-strap and front-strap, although it's molded in and not like checkering you'd see on a customized or high end 1911. However, at least it's not smooth like the CZ-75B's front and back strap. As for the sights, the sights on an SP-01 are basically always tritium, though I'm not sure about the CZ-75B, but the sights are slightly different in design. Now as for the mag-well, the mag-well is beveled on an SP-01, unlike the 75B model. Also, the beavertail is extended outwards to give you a higher grip on the gun, and as for the trigger itself? I'm not sure... The CZ-75B and SP-01 trigger feel relatively the same to me, but both can be swapped out for a Cajun Gun Works Short-Reset system. That's all!
Hard to find as with most of the CZs. Found my SP-01 on Gun Broker. A fair price for $599. I drank a shot of Cool Aid and bought the CZ 97B 45 while I was at it. What a beast, by oddly enough, tamed.
Just read about the rigorous testing and then knew I had to get it. I want a well built, reliable, and comfortable/practical gun, so considering beretta, a 1911, and cz were obvious choices when selecting my first gun. P-01 was ultimately what I decided on and it is smooth shooting
I just bought this gun today in California unfortunately with a 10 round magazine, and I of course have to wait the mandatory 10 day waiting period to pick it up. But still I’m pretty jazzed.
This is my fourth firearm purchase in California. 40 days of waiting for guns. I love how much safer I feel with such cool laws that totally do things. Yes, it really is better when you cross the border into America. Can't wait to get back to the land of the 30 minute gun purchases and total inability to control your firearm purchasing impulses.
I recently got the CZ 75B in high polish stainless steel., I have more feeling for that gun than any woman I ever knew. Shes a sweetheart and feels good in the hand and shoots just like you were saying....
Gotta agree, there is very LITTLE muzzle flip. I got a SP-01 Shadow Custom from CZ custom.. and holy shit am I ever happy with it. Had nothing but alphas at 15 yards today all rapid fire too.. Extremely pleased with it.
Love the review! i own a SP01-SHADOW. Love it! you get used to the Slide after training with it. Glocks, m&p's, 1911's, and CZ's all have a place in my heart and safe.
I don't know where or when CZ started to become known as a hipster or hippie or yuppie gun because I've never seen that but the CZ was worldwide more popular in common amongst militaries and police before Glock came around. As far as I'm concerned those that are truly in the know have been CZ users for decades. Hipsters and yuppies usually by the most expensive things in general the CZ cost less than a lot of options out there. Plus I'd like to add, the SP 01 holds 19, not 17.
I'm glad you found love for the cz's. They don't get near enough pub in the USA, but they are smokin hot guns. I have a cz p01 and it melts into your hand and you are exactly right, it is nearly impossible to slow fire a cz. And after some practice they are very accurate.
So 5 months later, I ended up buying the SP-01 Tactical. This review is spot-on. BTW, I love 1:17 second-strike capability. That's why I didn't pick up the Tactical Sport (single-action only). ...and after 200 rounds, just like Colion, I don't shoot this thing as well as I think I should. It's effortless to SHOOT, but it's kind of a booger to shoot ACCURATELY, although you know it'll do it. My gun's test target boasted an inch group at 25 meters. But for me thus far, your shots are either drilled into the X ring, or WAAAYYY the Hell off because you anticipated the break. ...Which isn't hard to do because the trigger is kind of a 3-stage. But I bought the gun to be the ultimate USPSA race gun of doom, so I'm gonna give it to the gunsmith I got it from and turn this thing into a Shadow with a decocker. ...Minus a couple hundred.
+TheMetalHeaD256 Unfortunately, the gun is better than the trigger. I havent tried the SP01 version yet, but I own a CZ75B that came with a long, gritty, heavy trigger. It got smoother with dry firing, but had some work done. I removed the mag brake so mags drop free, installed a lighter mainspring, a comp SA/DA hammer and a stainless steel guide rod. In my hands, it gets 2.5-3.5" groups slow shooting from 25 yds with 124 gr umc ball and winchester whitebox. From a rest, it shoots 2.5" consistently, not bad for a nontarget pistol shooting cheap ammo. I prefer shooting it from the Double action or from half cock. Double action is smooth but long a bit creepy, half cock is crisp but the single action feels vague even with the new hammer. It's a great gun but I dont enjoy shooting it as well as my 22LR K frame revolver 6" barrel. The double action is smooth with no noticeable creep, and the single action is crisp. It easily shoots 2" at 25 yds with blazer ammo, and will shoot 1" consistently from a rest using cheap blazer ammo. I got a Cadet 22 adapter for my CZ but usually give it to wife to shoot. At the range we go to, we only can load 5 rounds at a time so the 10 round mag is not an advantage and have more misfires with blazer in the Cadet than in the revolver, plus dont have to pick up my brass with the revolver.
Yeah, the gun is definitely better than the trigger. Decocker versions are known to have a couple more stages in their triggers too, and I can attest. The nicest STOCK CZ trigger I've seen is on the brand new Shadow Lines, because they come without sear disconnects and some other "internal safeties". However I just turned mine into a gunsmith to get it done the way his PCR had been done. The dude is magic with CZ's, both fixing them, and shooting them. And when it's done, it'll come in a little less expensive than a Shadow Line or Accu-Shadow.
For a *really* short reset and the smoothest factory- trigger you'll ever try, get a Shadow SP-01, specially for IPSC. It made me a CZ fanboy _ipso facto_. Great video btw Colin.
Yep the Shadow and the Shadow Line are exquisite. The Shadow Line's trigger, without the nonessential moving parts (safety features like a firing pin block), is absolutely wonderful from the factory and you can make it even better. the Accu-Shadow is very cool, too, although sadly it was declared no longer legal for IDPA (not like I'd want to shoot a major match in that sport anyway).
+TheMetalHeaD256 I got my CZ-75 SP-01 Tactical last week, shot it the first time and hit almost dead center at 15 feet. Took it out earlier today and put it at 7 yards with every shot hitting near the center of the target, definitely would have killed an attacker. This thing is what I like to call "Easy mode." And I've never been great with handguns. Maybe the CZ is just working its magic, or I am just being lucky, but I love it. For the record, I have also shot M&Ps, a Ruger P95, Beretta 92 and PX4 Compact, a Glock (not sure what kind, not a fan of them), and a few other 9mm somewhat frequently. This thing is just easier for me.
I just purchased mine tonight for $625 in Michigan. It is all steel, balanced and if you like the aluminum lite as plastic guns you won't like this beast. It just feels good.
I love the SP-01 line. Got my buddy into shooting and convinced him to go with a CZ SP-01 for his first gun (shot another friend's before and loved it). Like you said, it points naturally and there's very little recoil. I'm jealous enough of it that I'll be buying one at some point for sure. :)
Love your videos. They're well produced, informative, and have a great sense of humor. I've never fired a CZ before but after watching this I am definitely more curious to maybe try one out. I always liked your gun philosophy videos but your range videos may be even better. Keep up the good work.
My collection is almost complete... pulled the trigger on a P07 (2014 model). My PPQ, my M&P, my 1911...even the 4 small carry guns I rotate through EDC... everything is now relegated to safe queen and home defense duty.
Small slide = less reciprocating mass = less felt recoil and muzzle flip. It's like shaking a ten pound weight back and forth in your hand then doing the same with a 3 pound weight. The 3# weight is gonna move your arm less.
I like steel pistols I'm 62 years old I grew up with steel I never thought ever when they would make anything more than a water pistol out of plastic it would meet the class of pistols as a Saturday night special in my day because of the melting point but I tried some polymer pistols glock m&p fn ruger p95 but i rather have a steel pistol it's hard to break old thoughts and beliefs.
Just took my new SP 01 to the range last night... It is a sweet shooting and accurate gun... I was really impressed... The ergos are great and the night sights are a bonus...
Just took my CZ p01 Omega to the range for the first time today. I had swapped out the hard rubber grips for thinner g10 grips but otherwise it’s stock. At seven yards after several magazines I basically had one big hole. Meowed it back to 10 and it opened up a little but not much. Very happy with the purchase, might get a p07 to go with it.
Most people don’t know Czech have the most innovative gun design history in the world. Czech were leaders of firearm designs starting in the late 1800s..! German and Russian firearm designers copied majority of there firearm designs from the Czech firearm industry..! Locker Roller Blowback System used by German Mg34/Mg42 belt fed machine guns and Russian Tokarev pistols was originally designed by Czech engineers in the late 1800s. CZ75 was designed for combat conditions allowing novice shooters to adapt easily minimized recoil while maximizing accuracy without elaborate long term training. Any person can shoot the CZ75 reliable and accurately with minimum effort. Thanks for the great video..!
The recoil is so light precisely because of the light-weight slide. At the beginning of cycling, the only recoil transferred to the frame of the pistol is through the recoil spring. The primary transfer of recoil energy occurs at the moment the slide slams up against the frame at the end of its travel. The energy available to transfer is a function of slide weight and velocity. Velocity can be tuned through unlock timing, and actually having a lightweight slide makes it easier to tune for a low velocity. So with a low velocity and light weight there isn't much recoil to transfer at the end of slide travel.
I was shooting my sp-01 Tactical this morning, and it's so true- it's a hard gun to shoot slowly, you just want to keep squeezing them off because it's so sweet to fire.
I am seeing a lot of hate from the know it all keyboard warrior types on here, so i just have to say i enjoy your reviews Colion, keep 'em coming! Your wording / delivery is uniquely yours, its a nice change from the run of the mill traditional gun review.
FlamQ Dbtap, As much as Hickok 45 is popular with his fans, I feel the same about him. Talk, talk talk, shoot shoot, shoot, laugh, laugh, laugh. The guy really loves himself. Colion? Straight to the point, no blah, blah, blah.
I have a Jericho 941. Its the Isreali CZ clone . The SP01 reminds me of it because they both have beefy frames that extend under the entire barrel. And both are castrate a fly accurate.
One day i was at the range getting some boxes of mild Magtech FMJ throught my glock 26... and a guy came and told me if i wanted to swap it for his cz75, he was considering buying a G26 for CC and stuff. I had never shoot a CZ so i agreed happily. He warned me that the gun had a trigger job done for competition, no big deal. I am used to shoot my Beretta 92fs and thought the CZ would be similar... man were i wrong! That CZ was INCREDIBLE, i shooted the whole mag in like half a second at 20y making a terrific group with 9mm NATO General Dynamics factory ammo... I am buying one or a Tanfoglio as soon as i can.
@@brandonmugele2224 Hammer fell, nothing happened. Then he short stroked when he need the double action. Then he reset and successfully operated the double action and the hammer fell a second time on that round and again nothing happened. Then he reset and operated the double action and dropped that hammer a 3rd time to finally get a good primer ignition. We can't know if it is necessarily a weak hammer spring or a hard primer. Not sure what ammo he is using. Sure you could always argue that if the hammer spring did not defeat the hard primer but there is a limit to how strong a hammer spring should be due to wear and difficulty racking/cocking.
Low felt recoil is a function of several factors, one of which is low bore axis. Another not so well understood factor is transmitting the velocity of the slide energy into the hammer mainspring through the fact the firing pin stop plate is more square than rounded like the 1911's. This makes the slide harder to retract while cocking the hammer. Yes, little known.
that is what it looked like! he talks about short stroking a trigger, but he dropped a hammer on that round 3 times before it popped. Never had that with any of mine. Even with tul steel case which chokes up more expensive guns.
I noticed it. But whats great, though, is that he was able to just pull the trigger and keep on shooting, compared to a striker fired weapon where he'd have to clear the round. Love my P-07.
Shot my CZ 75 SP-01 for the first time at the range today, unbelievably smooth and easy to shoot, incredibly accurate, consistent head shots in tight groupings at 10 yards. If you love guns, like I do, and you don’t own this pistol, then you are doing yourself a MAJOR disservice, I can’t imagine a gun that’s more of a joy to shoot.
I did a couple things to mine that has made a big difference in performance. First, I had a trigger job done. Much smoother than before. Also, I got new mags. I didn't like like extended mag plates that are standard with the factory mags. I now use CZ mags that sit flush with the grips. Not that expensive, yet these two changes turned my excellent CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical into a proverbial tack driver. Shoot safe.
Forgot to say that the CZ's rails are internal and run t he full length of the slide. This is by design. It makes for a low bore axis, which results in it being a true point and shoot pistol and that's also the very reason it's a soft shooter. Glocks = overrated garbage.
Of course you can't compare a polymer basic duty weapon like a Glock (or an M&P, which I've shot in IPSC for the last 8 years) with a steel framed CZ with all the tweakable OEM parts to make it even more accurate than it is intrinsically. Does the CZ slide rattle on the frame when you shake it like my gun does? No LOL
Excellent review! As an old .45 guy I went with the canik55 manufactured c100 imported by TriStar. No bobbles with over 1300 rounds through it and with the manual safety I can carry appendix style without worrying about shooting my burrito. Just sayin!!
CZ has many models. The one in the video is a CZ 75 P-01 B variant. You can get a CZ 75 P-01 BD Variant. That has a decocker with no safety. You can run the B variant in double action with no problems too. I have both models.
The thing is, you made the gun look like it has some recoil. It shouldn't be jumping around as much as it was in your hands because you're right, it is a soft shooter. The video didn't do the soft recoil of the CZ any justice.
If you ever get the chance to shoot the CZ 97b, do it. The first time I shot mine I thought I had a squib load, it shoots that soft. I would go as far as to say its the softest shooting 45 acp currently on the market. As far as accuracy realize that sight alignment on czs is setup in typical european fashion vs american style. That should fix any accuracy issues.
You should also get your hands on a CZ P-07, their newer polymer pistol. Size of a G19, feels awesome in the hand, and shoots great. Oh and the trigger is improved. Had a P-06 and the heavy dbl. action trigger turned me off. Not so w/ the Omega trigger in the P-07. Great stock trigger in both dbl. and single action. This coming from an M&P guy. So impressed w/ it and priced so well that I'm seriously considering getting another.
Yeah its common if you're shooting cheap ammo. I had about a 5% light strike rate with Federal Champion ammo. However, this is also due to using reduced main spring. The fix is the extended firing pin. It gives you 100% ignition no matter how Chinese, I mean cheap the ammo is.
My 75 Sp-01 Tactical is my favorite 9. It's accurate and dependable, and even Sig can't beat the ergonomics. While my Glock friends are busy re-making their guns with after-market triggers, red dots, and compensators, my CZ shoots better than I do as is.
I love the CZ as well, but I also highly recommend a Sig Sauer P series! They are also really well made and accurate as heck, although not quite as comfortable as a CZ... My Dad owns a Sig P220 .45, and man is it a nice pistol! I recommend one if you dont already have one!
The CZ 75 SP-01 and the P-01 have a recoil spring thats about 14 lbs, which is more than most 9mm and 45 acp's. My guess would be that the stiffer recoil spring (especially for a 9mm) helps with muzzle velocity and slows the slide somewhat so you dont get the same 'snap' in your wrists. The slide itself is also heavy. Compare a 1911 slide or a typical glock slide. The CZ slide feels like a heavy, cold piece of steel and less like a shell. When you close the slide with the first round, you can feel the pistol almost jerk forward in your hand. The stiffness of the recoil spring in conjunction with a heavy slide most likely help throw the recoil effect quite a bit. Given the shortness of the barrel, I think the pistol is designed to throw its own weight around to mitigate recoil.
I just picked up my CZ 75 P01 and went to the range and to my astonishment, my very first shot from about 7yds nearly hit the bullseye. I don't remember even thinking about the recoil; it's a very soft shooter.
That's what I like about my Sig 226. I wouldn't want to carry it around every day but a heavy, full framed all metal gun shoots sooooo nice. (a good portion of them do anyways)
"I think everyone should have a CZ in their collection" I concur! I have five, not including the cold war era surplus CZs, and the CZ-550 rifle. Excellent review, great editing! I still need to add a SP-01 to the collection though. Most people don't realize it is the second most copied design in the world besides the 1911. Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Turkey, Israel all have a variations of this excellent design.
The sp-01 is a cz 75b updated and more modernized it has the great grips of the compact on a full sized pistol it also has better ergos and and picatinny rail on the bottom for lasers or lights. You should also look at the new p-09 duty. Hope this helped if not I can explain it more.
my CZ 75 sp 01 shadow has a 5 pound da and a 2 pound sa trigger pull with custom taped grips 11 pound recoil spring and a 13 pound hammer spring. the short reset with the competition hammer, and the long barrel and the only kick i get is the slide going back. and I shoot tacks at 20 yards. to bad in Canada we have 10 round mags and I`m in IPSC at 14.
In my opinion my 9mm CZ 75B is the best kept secret in the gun world. The price of this handgun for what you get is simply incredible. Your evaluation is right on... and yes every gun enthusiast should have one.
I had a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical for a long time. One of the biggest regrets in my life was the day that I sold that thing. Shooting that thing was just as addictive as shooting my Ruger Mark II.
IMO that's one nice thing about a DA/SA type of pistol.. you can keep stroking that hammer trigger till the round goes boom.. if it will at all on cheap or crap ammo. in a striker fired pistol, you will just need to break your grip, and wrack the slide to move onto the next round.
Love CZ, one of the most under rated guns on the market, which is good. keeps the price down...
people are catching on, I overpaid for an sp 01 tactical because I couldn't find one for 3 months
deadheart how much?
Glock1130 $753 and some change haha I know its ridiculous but I wanted it and I was scared of Hillary so I just jumped on it.
deadheart that's really not that bad a price,
Check gun broker
Glock1130 Ehhh...they're going for about $100 less than what I paid. Either way I'm happy with it and bought it at a local shop
❤First shot it yesterday. As testing to decide what to buy. After cz p10, glock, hk usp... This was indeed... Didn't want to stop... ❤
My 1st CZ. WOW, what a pistol. Since this one, I purchased a 97B and a 10S. CZ isn't just a pistol, it's one of the BEST!
Nicely done.
Not underrated anymore
I just bought my CZ75. I have to admit that I did not find this video before I bought it but I had heard good things about the gun. After having it out at the range and running a considerable amount of ammo through it, I can say that I agree with virtually 100% of everything you've said on this video. You put into words almost exactly my own findings. Keep up with your reviews. I like your take.
I love my SP-01. Very accurate and easy platform to operate for beginners. Thanks for the upload.
0:00 - 0:01 what was that?!
+HolyDiver6288 lol glad I am not the only one

My favourite gun in my collection.
Mee too
@Bryce Czirr p01 is a compact.
I've handled them
1:12 What a flinch!
We all do it.

Dan Stewart How much did it cost you?
I'm thinking about picking up a p-01. I have a 226 legion that I'm spoiled with so its gonna take a lot of convincing.
I haven't handled both guns, my CZ fits my hand better than my Glock and is just as accurate, maybe more.
vgman94 lol this is from 4 years ago but dude they are the exact same expert for the pic rail
vgman94 same quality, just a bit heavier, because of the rail. Same mags etc.
I got it for my first purchase of a gun. Hope you're enjoying it. I'm waiting on the 10 day waiting also lol
I’m about to get one also as my first firearm and I’m in Cali. Do you recommend?
Extremely pleased with it.
i picked up a SP-01 recently.
i really like this gun
I think the low recoil is what attracted me to it as a new gun owner.
What the heck was that noise at the start of the video?
I couldn't stop laughing when i heard it
"De-be-dep"
I keep restarting the video so I can hear it and giggle
I ran it through an audio analyzer and he clearly said "black people love Trump".
no we just had to pick one of the lesser devils lol
It just feels good.
the SP-01 & the P-01 will be my next 2 handguns.
Awesome stuff and I can't get enough of the CZ's.
Terrific iron.
I just got the CZ sp-01 tactical i freaking love it. New to CZ.
I just bought the CZ- sp101 tactical earlier today. Its my first CZ as well, I haven't shot mine yet, and can't wait
*sp-01 tactical
Well Jeff Cooper did say he really liked it and that pretty much sums it up .
Great video my friend!! Keep up the good word - Nice editing and panning.
I got 4😂 well one is the evo3
CZ75 sp-01
Cz75b
CZ75 PCR
And just love them
Small slide = less reciprocating mass = less felt recoil and muzzle flip. It's like shaking a ten pound weight back and forth in your hand then doing the same with a 3 pound weight. The 3# weight is gonna move your arm less.
The engineers who designed this pistol are freaking geniuses… :)
Agreed!
rambokicksass77 agreed
Definitely agree. Plus given the heavy frame to eat up recoil even further.
The CZ 75 SP-01 is the greatest 9mm on the planet
It's the best 9 mm I ever owned, hands down.
I have a g19 but the sp01 kills it all day ...
Update: I now own a Walther Q5 Match SF Pro. I now consider it the Greatest 9mm on the Planet Earth.
You haven't shot a shadow 2 orange then
Picked up a tactical version today and took it right home and shot 5 mags through it, very impressed!
Had my eye on CZ for way too long, time to pick one up.
Hope you got one I feel your pain.
Just took my new SP 01 to the range last night... It is a sweet shooting and accurate gun... I was really impressed... The ergos are great and the night sights are a bonus...
My gun is broken, it's stopped recoiling
Just took my CZ p01 Omega to the range for the first time today. I had swapped out the hard rubber grips for thinner g10 grips but otherwise it’s stock. At seven yards after several magazines I basically had one big hole. Meowed it back to 10 and it opened up a little but not much. Very happy with the purchase, might get a p07 to go with it.
just ordered up an sp01 from cajun gun works with single action only conversion and the copperhead package. CAN. NOT. WAIT.
How is the gun? I'm looking at converting to SA only as well!
THE BEST SP-01 REVIEW!.......wish it was a SP-01 SHADOW or ACCU-SHADOW.
Thanks again, long time subscriber.
I prefer anything made in the Czech Republic. Slavic STRENGTH!
Czeska Zbroyovka is the shit!
Czechoslovakia is home to some of the most innovative firearms I've ever seen. :)
walruspictures CZ and VZ-- just sell it to me
I was shooting my sp-01 Tactical this morning, and it's so true- it's a hard gun to shoot slowly, you just want to keep squeezing them off because it's so sweet to fire.
Second amendment shooting party in Cali with 17 round mags. LOL Your a foo Colion, keep it up. Way to give the gun world some much needed diversity.
Thanks to Freedom Week now you can!
I have a good friend who worked for NYC FireDept. As an arsen investigator. He was issued a Glock 19 but his personal home gun is a CZ-75
Other then not being English, great reply!

1:19 bad primer? look like the hammer fell twice
eternalredline i was about to post the same thing. Seems like it
Just noticed the same thing.
This might have been where he said he short stroked the trigger.
Yes, little known.
was that a lite primer strike at 1:16
that is what it looked like! he talks about short stroking a trigger, but he dropped a hammer on that round 3 times before it popped. Never had that with any of mine. Even with tul steel case which chokes up more expensive guns.
I noticed it. But whats great, though, is that he was able to just pull the trigger and keep on shooting, compared to a striker fired weapon where he'd have to clear the round. Love my P-07.
3:25 "CZ OP, plz nerf"
this guy has the best voice for reviews.. surprised that i have not heard him narrating any documentaries
#1 pistol in the world stock!... do the research and see for your self or better yet shoot one.
Cayo, why the shitty clone? Save up your pennies for the real thing!
If one can not shoot a cz75 accurately it is the shooter.
Shoot safe.
where did you get your trigger work done?
taipan185 My local gunsmith did it. Not very complicated he told me. Very smooth now. Well worth the extra $$.
"throw a party in California, with 17 round magazines" the cz holds 18 rounds
17 round mag with 1 in the chamber?
The gun now comes with two 19 round mags
CZ has many models. The one in the video is a CZ 75 P-01 B variant. You can get a CZ 75 P-01 BD Variant. That has a decocker with no safety. You can run the B variant in double action with no problems too. I have both models.
The thing is, you made the gun look like it has some recoil. It shouldn't be jumping around as much as it was in your hands because you're right, it is a soft shooter. The video didn't do the soft recoil of the CZ any justice.
+leadslanger He must be shooting +p+ 147 gr buffalo loads (yes they really exist).
"Anyone who uses a CZ 75 SP-01 or any CZ for that matter in a shooting competition is basically a cheater"
Friend of mine owns this. It's heavy, but you only notice the weight after shooting it when you lower it.
I have two P09's and a Rami they are fun to shoot and accurate. Rami is a little heavier than most for concealed carry but I can live with it.
I have found that the CZ75B SP01 in 40 S&W is equally tame as its 9mm little brother. I love them.
I have CZ SP 01 and man it dose shoot like butter. No problem shooting 25 yard and I’m new in guns. Did replace my 2 Glocks to this CZ
I love the CZ as well, but I also highly recommend a Sig Sauer P series! They are also really well made and accurate as heck, although not quite as comfortable as a CZ... My Dad owns a Sig P220 .45, and man is it a nice pistol! I recommend one if you dont already have one!
after watching this video a couple of times.... I took Pew pew life advice and purchased a SP01.... thank you for the review!
CZ has never been underrated. Those of us that shoot respect CZ. One of the best race guns period.
Glad you like the CZ, this is going to me my choice for a .40 S&W due to its full size and alloy frame!
own it for two month and its really easy to do a 5 bull eye in a row in less than 30 sec so in love great video by the way
The CZ 75 SP-01 and the P-01 have a recoil spring thats about 14 lbs, which is more than most 9mm and 45 acp's.
Agree on the trigger! Cajun trigger job corrects all that!
I just picked up my CZ 75 P01 and went to the range and to my astonishment, my very first shot from about 7yds nearly hit the bullseye. I don't remember even thinking about the recoil; it's a very soft shooter.
Just decided on my new purchase. Thanks Colion!
It can be cocked and locked too, and comes with tritium sights, if I'm not mistaken.
I have 4 in my collection lol love the 75’s!!
The slide might be part of the reason for the light recoil - you have less mass moving rearward into your hand while having that heavy dust cover.
I bought this gun recently. It is amazing especially the 18 round mag and the night vision tritium iron sights. Range days are the best days.
