I personally love the billingham Hadley digital. It's a bit big if you want to only carry the x100f. It's really great since I'm going to be using it with my Fuji xt-2 kit as well
I have the Samsonite Excursion bag which cost me about 40USD some years back. Excellent for X100 series and accessories. Seems more spacious than the Tom Binh side effect you featured in this video.
Adidas NMD side bag (You wear it like a sling bag i guess) has a similar basic shape but with bigger dimensions. Also padded on all sides and looks good but still discrete. Trust me you'll like it.
FlashQ Triggers don't support high speed sync(HHS). They officially support anything up to 1/250 of a second, but it might work with leaf shutter of X100F at higher speeds, but it's not HHS. To do high speed sync you have to use flashes that have this option and triggers that support HHS. Essentially during HHS the flash will fire multiple bursts. The only trigger system that supports high speed sync on Fuji cameras is Cactus V6 II. However, I think it will be possible to get FlashQ triggers sync at higher speeds with X100F, because essentially they're manual triggers and X100F has a leaf shutter that will allow you to use higher shutter speeds. As for camera bag, I would highly recommend Ona Bowery. I have two of them - one in Smoke Canvas and another one in Cognac Leather. I can fit X-Pro2, 23mm, 25mm, 56mm, batteries, charger, memory cards, my iPhone and it will still have room despite it's tiny size.
Hey thanks! Those ONA bags are sweet. A buddy of mine has one and I'm definitely thinking about dropping the money on it. As for HSS with the triggers... I'm not educated on what exactly constitutes "high speed" but I've been able to use shutter speeds of up to 1000th sec. I'll educate myself before I do the longer review of those triggers! Thanks!
Andrii Taran You can sync flash at any shutter speed with the x100F (or any earlier x100 series camera) because of the leaf shutter. You don't need any specific type of flash (though you do need to be conscious of the flash duration), and you don't need a trigger dedicated to HSS or to Fuji. You do, however, need to be conscious of radio latency, so some triggers are better than others. The Cactus v6 can sync at 1/1000 second, which is pretty good.
I picked up the filter + hood and attachment, but my Fuji lens cap doesn't attach over the new hood (even though the manual says it does...) I'd still like to have the option to cover the filter... do you have any suggestions for this?
I wonder if everything would fit into a Peak Design field pouch? I don't know if it would, but there are different sizes of their Field Pouches (probably look into the dimensions of the large size). It just seems fitting to have a fancy Peak Design bag with a Fujifilm X100F. :)
Mason Drumm the everyday sling from peak design is a lovely little bag as well. Would give you room for some personal items such as a small laptop, water bottle etc. or a second mirrorless camera
Not at all. But if you use the Teleconverter it does block a portion of the optical viewfinder. It doesn't matter either way if you're using the digital viewfinder.
I would recommend one of these small bags: Tenba Switch 7- www.tenba.com/uk/products/switch-bag-7-black-leather.aspx or Tenba DNA 8 - www.tenba.com/uk/products/messenger-dna-8-graphite.aspx
You forgot to mention that with the Flash Q trigger one can use any flash ever made anywhere(Depending on the aperture all the way to 1/4000) mostly because of the camera’s leaf shutter. As a bag I could suggest the smallest of the three Thinktank sling bags which I believe is 10 liter in size, is very sturdy but is not cheap because it outlasts most of the rest (Mine has gone to the ruddiest places on earth for the 6th year now).I must say I take a lot of my tips from Theoria Apophasis (some of my friends call him the “Angry Photographer” lol)as well and he does have a knowledge to match his ego.Flash Sience,Electronics and Batteries seem to be his forte (beside obscure Philosophy).
Have you actually tried this? I cannot get radio triggers like the yongnou to work with speeds over 1/250, the radio trigger is just too slow and fires a touch late.
It's not high speed sync, for the the X100 series it's hyper sync because it has leaf shutter. You can shoot with flash at any shutter speed with aperture wide open if you shoot portraits at a very bright day.
I like Snapseed but want to be able to process RAF files in IOS. Lightroom mobile can do it but not the x100f files just yet. At least I was not able to.
Good selection Looks like you rely on the camera for work, I would recommend adding a second battery, it will allow you to have the camera on and ready to snap on opportunity. They "other reviewer" is Theoria Apophasis, very knowledgeable.
I saw a video recently with an X100F, the Q triggers you mentioned (I think) and a small silver flash that I guessed was made by Fuji. I could have sworn it was on this video but now I can't find it. Do you know the flash I am talking about and what it might be called? I am looking for something small and easy to use to go with my X100F. great video by the way! Did you find a new bag?
Hey thanks for the comment. Perhaps the flash you're talking about is the EF-X20? I've never shot with it but hope to soon. I did get a new bag. I ended up going with a Peak Design Sling Bag but I'm not too sure I'm happy with it. I have a review or it and three other bags coming out soon... hopefully you'll catch it. Cheers!
I haven't made the HSS video yet. It's coming but I've got a handful of other ones lined up before I get to that. The hardwood grip was made from walnut that I woodshopped with a table saw and a lot of love with a belt sander. I will be making a video showing how I made it when I do a new one for the x100F. Thanks for the comment!
I blame you and no one else for the hit my wallet is about to receive. Love your videos and now I so so want this camera plus all this accessories. Great video thank you so much for all of the great info :)
luvmirh8mi go on ebay, search x100f buy with the seller "willoughbys camera" or "17th street photo" both local camera store here in new york, authorized fuji dealer, item with full manufacturer warranty and usa model. got mine last week and I'm so happy with the purchase. FYI: they're both $100 more than the original price from b&h or adorama but they have it and no need for waiting. also you can make an offer. hope that helped.
Thanks for the help. I actually called Bestbuy here in CA and they just got a shipment and will be receiving mine be April 12. Cheers & enjoy shooting.
They guy you were refering too is Ken Wheeler AKA the Angry Photographer. Try Prisma Photo editing APP, you'll love it. For a bag , check out Billingham Hadley SMALL , nice small bag will fit your X100F, + lens + speedlight and they are very solid and shock proof
you were a bit misleading in the vid regarding high speed sync - it's the LEAF SHUTTER that allows you to do high speed sync.....NOT the flash trigger you showed. that only allows off camera flash and only allows manual flash settings - you are using "high speed sync" whenever you shoot with the flash that resides in the camera depending on what shutter speed is being used. the faster the shutter speed, the "higher the sync" ;-) looking fwd to seeing some pics you've shot in your next video
Depends on what your needs are. If you check out my 5d vs x100 video I talk more in-depth about the pros and cons of interchangeable lens cameras vs fixed lens. For me, I use the 5DMKIII on larger more professional shoots. But I only ever carry the x100 on my person for casual and personal work.
maybe you have already been told.....BUT DO NOT CHARGE BATTERIES INSIDE THE CAMERA BY USING the USB CABLE TO A PC (or other) SOURCE if you don't understand why this is NOT GOOD....check around and find out why - you're welcome :-)
Thanks for this video mate. Just purchased a x100f and your ideas on accessories have been a huge help too.
Thanks mate!
I've been using the domke f5-xb for about 4 years. it's perfect for small kits like your x100f and accessories
My favorite small bag is the Domke F-5XB. I have a black one and a green one.
To keep the Soft Touch shutter release attached use plumber's teflon tape. Works like a charm. For a bag I recommend ONA Bowery. $149 at B&H.
I personally love the billingham Hadley digital. It's a bit big if you want to only carry the x100f. It's really great since I'm going to be using it with my Fuji xt-2 kit as well

As for the soft shutter button make sure you get one with the rubber o ring. JJC brand comes with the o ring
Absolutely! The reason I lost the last one was because I didn't use that o-ring to help secure it. Thanks
Brilliant video, thanks
Thanks! Super helpful keep up the reviews! Love your non-comprehensive review with image samples too
Good video Mason. May I ask what camera strap you are using? Thanks.
With the filter on, can the original lens cap still be used?
check out the Pacsafe MetroSafe LS 200. lots of safety features so it can't be cut off you or unzipped when you secure it.
If you're still looking for a new bag, I'd like to recommend the Peak Design sling bag
Try the ThinkTank Photo Hubba Hubba Hiney bag for your kit, including the teleconverter lens.
Adidas NMD side bag (You wear it like a sling bag i guess) has a similar basic shape but with bigger dimensions. Also padded on all sides and looks good but still discrete. Trust me you'll like it.
Great video! Keep up the good work! The only thing that threw me off was flash triggers, but no flash ;)
Are Eidet haha. Yea I should have included that!
Why we need the adapter ar-x100 ? what if we put the filter on without the adapter?

On the Lightpixlabs website I read 'FlashQ supports remote triggering flashes at sync speeds up to 1/250 sec*.' No high speed flash or am I wrong?
The erratic piano music is deffinitely not annoying.
Derek McCoy HAHAHAHAHAHA
I wonder if everything would fit into a Peak Design field pouch? I don't know if it would, but there are different sizes of their Field Pouches (probably look into the dimensions of the large size). It just seems fitting to have a fancy Peak Design bag with a Fujifilm X100F. :)
Michael Seneschal I'll check it out.
Mason Drumm the everyday sling from peak design is a lovely little bag as well. Would give you room for some personal items such as a small laptop, water bottle etc. or a second mirrorless camera
I totally bought the Sling from PeakDesign. I've got a review coming up after I use it for a few months.
Check out the Think tank retrospective 5 shoulder bag. I keep my Fujifilm X100f and converter.
Thanks.
I concur...it is an awesome bag for x100 cameras in terms of just right size and pockets for accessories etc.
With the adapter ring, filter as well as the lens hood, does it block part of the optical view finder?
Not at all. But if you use the Teleconverter it does block a portion of the optical viewfinder. It doesn't matter either way if you're using the digital viewfinder.
I enjoyed your video. Thanks for making it.

or
Tenba DNA 8 - www.tenba.com/uk/products/messenger-dna-8-graphite.aspx
ghodan77 Thanks!
Can this camera transfer photos with a cable? That way I dont need to purchase a adapter. What cable can be used then?
Gary L not that I'm aware of. However, I'll check tomorrow morning and let you know if so!

Oh I know! I should have mentioned that!!! It's one of the best features. I'll bring it up in my next video. Thanks
If it triggers that means it works ..the rest is up to you to adjust...remember this is a leaf shutter mechanism.
Yea I typically don't worry too much about the raw files if I'm just wanting to do quick little edits. I need to start using LR mobile!
Hey man, do you need to unscrew the uv filter and lenshood adapter to attach tcl conversion?
Yes.
Good selection Looks like you rely on the camera for work, I would recommend adding a second battery, it will allow you to have the camera on and ready to snap on opportunity.
They "other reviewer" is Theoria Apophasis, very knowledgeable.
Noam S I Plan on it. Had three for the x100t. Just gotta wait for some $$$
I saw a video recently with an X100F, the Q triggers you mentioned (I think) and a small silver flash that I guessed was made by Fuji. I could have sworn it was on this video but now I can't find it. Try VSCO for editing on mobile
Did you make the video about HSS with the Qtrigger? Also, how did you make that sweet hardwood grip?
I haven't made the HSS video yet. It's coming but I've got a handful of other ones lined up before I get to that. Thanks for the comment and sorry for the lighter wallet! Haha. Let me know what you think of the camera once you're shooting it. Cheers!
Nice comprehensive review. Looking forward to the flash video. Check out the Ona Bowery Bag.
Where's the camera strap review?
Lucky you... x100f out of stock... where can I get it? Help...
luvmirh8mi go on ebay, search x100f buy with the seller "willoughbys camera" or "17th street photo" both local camera store here in new york, authorized fuji dealer, item with full manufacturer warranty and usa model. got mine last week and I'm so happy with the purchase. thanks man! :) show us more of your work !! :) do the college pay you for your work or is just a hobby?
I'm a full time photographer/videographer for the University. I'll push out more videos going over my images. Thanks!
I love the X100 series (miss my X100T). I believe a hack exists to get your X100F to recognize your TCL-X100 like the new version.
It does! I've yet to do it though.
do i need to use adapter for filter?
Yes.
Just looked it up! I like the size and it looks great… but $200-260!
Thanks!
Why not just use the Digital Conversion?
you were a bit misleading in the vid regarding high speed sync
- it's the LEAF SHUTTER that allows you to do high speed sync.....NOT the flash trigger you showed. that only allows off camera flash and only allows manual flash settings
- you are using "high speed sync" whenever you shoot with the flash that resides in the camera depending on what shutter speed is being used. the faster the shutter speed, the "higher the sync" ;-)
looking fwd to seeing some pics you've shot in your next video
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the confusion on HSS. To be honest, when it comes to that I was still figuring it out… still am actually!
Can this be your only camera?
Depends on what your needs are. If you check out my 5d vs x100 video I talk more in-depth about the pros and cons of interchangeable lens cameras vs fixed lens. For me, I use the 5DMKIII on larger more professional shoots. But I only ever carry the x100 on my person for casual and personal work.
Mason Drumm ok I see, no zoom needed?
Mason Drumm I’m thinking to get X100F or Panasonic GX9
I only wish the teleconversion lens was cheaper!
Nice video man. Only thing is for next time put your notes on the table. It looks bad having to look down every time you need them
It was a pretty informal video so I wasn't too worried about it. Will keep that in mind for next time though! Thanks
Affinity for iOS is my editor
Peak Design 10L Sling

"ONA" bags are great
NutSac Man Bag Damit. A bit bigger than you Tom Bihn. Everything should fit perfectly.
If you wanna sell the tom bihn bag lemme know...
maybe you have already been told.....BUT DO NOT CHARGE BATTERIES INSIDE THE CAMERA BY USING the USB CABLE TO A PC (or other) SOURCE
if you don't understand why this is NOT GOOD....check around and find out why
- you're welcome :-)
Oh no!!! I've totally done that before but I'll look into it. Luckily nothing bad's happened yet!
$50 for a toilet bag?
Can't beat Tom Bihn quality!
Why is Ramsay Bolton doing camera reviews?
The Fuji lens hood is about $100 not $13 as you said.
Floyd and Lola perhaps a slight overreaction. Hilarious for sure. But maybe a bit strong?
Seems Floyd is off his meds again ....
no jazz music. or it would have been really interesting sorry.
