And see how beautiful the lady singer is. With only her arms and shoulders showing without a deep plunging front, like is so popular now, she was Effortlessly classy in the most feminine and lovely way. Some later and more current preforming artists should see this video. I loved their voices...pure Talent!

The Platters are the ones that got me hooked on 50s and 60s Doo-Wop music! Please go down the rabbit hole with The Platters!!! My favorites of theirs are My Prayer, The Great Pretender, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Twilight Time, You’ll Never Never Know, On My Word Of Honor, (You’ve Got) The Magic Touch, and I’m Sorry.
Oh, and be sure to watch the 80s movie titled Mischief which is what made me fall in love with this genre.

I was at the Times Square Paramount where I saw Alal Freed spectacular all star show. I guess I was about 14 and after the show we hang out by the back stag door to get autographs. My sister and I lost our money and had to go to the cups that put us on the subway home for free. We never told our parents or we would have been in trouble.

They were so smooth! I was blessed to grow up in the 70s and 80s when turntables were still a thing and my grandmother would always play her records when we visited. I got to hear a lot of this type of music. In a way, it became my standard for whether or not a singer and their music was good; did they sound as good live as they did on the radio. Back in the day, without the technology we have today, they had to really be able to sing before a record label would even consider them. They had to have that 'something special' like this group had.

Yes, the beautiful Zola Taylor! I have always had a crush on her. Sadly, She passed away in her 60s. She was married for a while to Frankie Lyman, frontman of "The Teenagers," most famous for the song "Why do Fools Fall in Love." A movie of the same name was made of Lyman's life story. Next on your Platters reaction list: "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." This is another sad song, featured prominently in the movie American Graffiti.
