Very encouraging! Beautiful way to live!
It took me over 30 years to realize that I can grow a productive garden. I am taking advantage of the property and the farm house that we have been blessed with. My children are adults, and I now have the opportunity to teach my grandchildren how to grow their own food.
It’s a joy to watch them sowing seeds and harvesting!
Blessings to you and your family!

I so want to thank you for this video! I have five kids under the age of 11. the last 3 being 4, 2 and a newborn.
This summer before the baby was born I heard the Lord speak and say that I needed to sift through all the good things we had in our plate and choose the best to keep. That meant getting rid of our chickens and some other animals. Letting the garden go. Not because these things are inherently bad but because there are only so many hours in a day. To hear you set homesteading aside for a season brings me such peace. Bc it really breaks my heart to do so.... But babies do not keep. ♥️
You are currently my favorite UA-cam channel. Thx for continuing to put out content.

My husband enjoys having his watch that helps track his sleep and is his alarm without something being noisy at all since it just vibrates on his wrist. I used to have a watch (his old one) but didn't enjoy having one at all. I no longer have one.
Great job in teaching life skills to your children. You have worked so hard and are doing great. My second child loves to help me cook food. He asks to help me. I love that because I have no daughters to pass on my recipes to (yet), so maybe he'll become the family cook (as I am and my oldest brother is). He's even taking a cooking course right now.
    Another great video.

And you got me Shayla… I ordered your planner. I already have a planner I really like but some of the sheets in yours look helpful like something I could add to my home binder that will compliment it greatly. Plus, I just wanted to support your channel after all the great stuff you’ve provided via video for free. 😊

    Thank you for your tips!
I've also noticed, as a Mom of 2 young little ones,my toughest days are those when I wake up tired with a head ache after a rough night... I nurse both, but I'm busy gradually weaning my eldest.
I was especially encouraged with one of your recent short videos that asked us if Jesus needs to wash His feet after visiting our homes. With this, I've been trying to keep my home in a cleaner way. 😊

Great video. This year i decided to get a daily planner, helps especially with the homeschooling and keeping a schedule. Now i need major self discipline and put this stupid phone down. I got rid of my cellphone service, so no more texting (wow, what a relief) now i just need to completely break free from the internet. 😭😭😭 Very difficult because i love watching channels like yours.

Why not just give yourself 'office hours' with the internet. TBH, I could not homeschool without the internet! I have to submit emails to the school district & have always looked up cool craft projects, lesson/unit ideas & sometimes even purchase online curriculum. So why ditch the internet when there is so much useful & educational stuff???? I just limit my time to specific times of the day; usually about 2-3 pm, because that is when I am needing to get off my feet & my kids have finished school & gone to work. Then I watch something like this with a cup of coffee & it re energizes me to go get dinner started. Why not just set a timer/time limit & a specific time of the day? I do the same with emails & phone calls. Keeps me on task.

My daughter is 20 months old now and she watched this with me. She rubbed her tummy and said "MmmMmm!" through all the scenes with cooking, and when you came on the screen she pointed and said "Gooorl!" emphatically 😂

So many people don't teach their kids life skills these days, it is shocking. Good for you! My son is 15 and does the chicken food and water before school, knows how to do his laundry, cut his hair, cook, add fluids to the cars, shop for a deal thrifting. It's the keeping the room clean that is a huge challenge, lol. Label reading and learning how to budget for food, so cost per ounce is a big one too.

Hello my beautiful momma friend! Loved this video. Did you paint part of the walls in your kitchen? Looks pretty if you did! Our home is s.l.o.w.l.y. Coming together. Thought of you today as I put some really pretty green and purple basil on my window sill and I noticed some was even blooming. Used it for some homemade marinara. Thank you for inspiring me! Loved your outfits! The chunky necklaces, dark nail polish and colorful outfits…love them! They look very lovely on you! Hoping you decided to keep your yellow apron ❤ blessings to you momma

Okay regarding the planner. I love planning and I do make tons of lists, but I have 3 Littles 2 and under and life gets crazy (understatement) I am a recovering perfectionist, all or nothing, black or white type of person. When I have a chunk unused or have gone weeks on weeks without using it, I want to throw it all away! And start new. And I am so hard on myself and my "capabilities" of being able to plan. I know the important thing is to keep coming back and picking it up and I do thrive with a routine/ plan but life is hectic. Help!

Shayla, you shared a helpful tidbit on how to refresh wooden spoons. I can't find it. I don't remember which video you included it in. Am I imagining this? If you have a chance, can you point me in the right direction?

I really think that the pre-readers are the most difficult to homeschool - don't take teaching a kid to read lightly 🙂 They can't be left alone with materials (scissors, paint, glue...) and you can't tell them "finish the chapter" or "complete these problems" while you take a phone call or answer the door.
They are the hardest until you get to high school, anyway!
