Nice reaction.....Shatter-- ode to Medusa. the beginning of the MV the members surround JiU with snake arm movement and the enticement of the unwary till one gazes and are turned to stone . and ends abruptly. I think....
I watched the dance video a lot after filming my reaction cause I was so enchanted by how it was made. Thank you for making me notice even more things! The choreography is magnificent
@@B_lightson Hi you're welcome, I came across a tweet that had a link giving confirmation that Shatter is about Medusa and adds to the lore and story of OOTD and VS Villain's concept. The link is in UA-cam and 1 1/2 minutes long. Around the minute mark talks of Shatter. Thought might be interesting and along with DC's First Time Viewing OOTD MV (@ Dreamcatcher Official and fun to watch) will give a little insight in what this concept is about. (like parallel worlds, disappearances, sand, the crown, what happened to Sasha and me left little more confused)😕 ua-cam.com/video/80kDQJy3sIk/v-deo.html One thing I noticed it was JiU that touched (killed?) the cameraperson at the end of OOTD (Sasha ) ( the person working at the IT computer station in beginning) AND it was JiU who had the snake hair in Shatter and presumably the sinister Medusa character. Now that I wrote a book about it will call this good and Best. PS Watch out for JiU.
I'm glad you enjoyed the album! Intro: My Fashion feels really creepy and robotic. Their intros always do a good job of setting the mood for an album and I feel like this one serves its purpose of letting you know that things may not be what they seem and that there is a darkness under the surface. Rising feels like a quintessential Dreamcatcher song but with a bit of a twist. Powerful vocals, powerful guitars and drums, and inspiring lyrics. I have a feeling that Rising is going to be amazing in a live setting. Shatter was a challenge for me initially. The extreme switch ups in the chorus threw me to start with, but even then, that final chorus with the choir chants and Yoohyeon's siren call gave me chills every time I heard it. Now, Shatter is one of my favorite DC B-sides. It's very unique and has this great mix of fragility and power. The Medusa theme and choreo really elevated the song for me as well. We are Young feels a bit sad but hopeful to me. It's normal for their final tracks to be a ballad-esq type of song so this threw me for a loop to start with, but it fits in well with some of DCs other EDM/Festival type songs. Also, Siyeon's vocal climb leading into the final chorus is one of the most satisfying things I've ever heard in a song. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the rest of their discography, but if you've not checked out all of their EPs and albums, I highly recommend that you do. Thanks again!
I looove to read InSomnia's comments! You guys always explain a lot of things to me and this comment in particular is so well written (As someone who doesn't use english as the first language I sincerely admire you ☺️). I'm really interested in the analysis of music, mvs and art in general and Dreamcatcher's works are well constructed and thought. It's always beautiful to see how fans understand and interpret the creations of their favorite artists
“Their voices are a bit mature" Literally one of the reasons I mostly listened to Dreamcatcher. No shade to the other girl groups but it seems that kpop companies these days are keen to train female idols with really high singing voices (some would even sound like a bunch of cheerleaders singing despite being in their 20s). There should be more freedom for them to explore their voices
Yes, I've also noticed people often tend to appreciate only artists who can go really high, but the voice, just like the other instruments, can have a lot of different colorful shades. I hope female idols will feel confident even if they have a lower register. Lower tones are just as beautiful as higher ones and can be really tricky too!

There are plenty of groups and female idols with lower tones.. This kind of talk is mostly from bg stans who have internalized misogyny and use it as an excuse to dismiss all/most girl groups. Its the same when bg stans say "all girl groups are the same". Except thats even more ridiculous imo.. Considering how samey most boy groups are in comparison to the variety in girl groups
@@ringadinga4782 please don't assume the worst if you don't know me. I hardly listen to any boy group. I was saying from my experience of the most girl groups that I had listen to, I don't have time to checkout all of them. Sure, there are girl groups with mature vocals like Mamamoo but the problem is their music is not my cup of tea. Music is subjective after all And if this will ease you a little bit, I do like some songs from G-Idle, Blackpink, Pixy and Pinkfantasy...just to name a few
What the... 😱 Something sooo special... ❤ Stan Dreamcatcher ! 👍

@@ringadinga4782 also another thing, I don't consider myself a kpop fan so that's why I gravitate more towards DC's music
