    It's weird to hear her being called "Mrs. Matthews." Especially after so many seasons hearing her be called "Ms. Lawrence" by Mr. Feeny. No doubt a wonderfully written scene

      This is why it is NOT a good idea to get married in college, no matter how much in love you are. Wait until you graduate, have a good job, and can afford a house or apartment on your own. If the love is true and real, it'll last. The marriage is the icing on the cake, but bake the cake first.

      Oh, I know. I got married at 24 and my husband and I lived on the bottom floor of an old apartment with terribly insolated windows, maintenance workers that didn't want to do anything, ant traps in the bathroom, kids running through the entryway, and loud neighbors above us that we could either hear having sex or screaming at each other. Marriage, ups downs, joys and horrors. When people say I do it is supposed to last forever, not when things get rough, when the other person is hard to talk to, or if you have issues with each other, perseverance, kindness, compromising, in boastful, gentle, calm, genuine, understanding, and caring. Now people throw marriage out the window like a used tissue like it meant nothing at all. People give up and divorce at the slightest sign of difficulty and become broken in some ways nomatter who they find later on or how happy they are. Worst of all is the affect it has on kids. Every single kid I know has been hurt by their parents divorce, nomatter how peaceful it is. However, some parents lie to themselves and say that the kids are fine and they are not bothered when they are in reality

      I think the title is talking about the period where everything is great. Everything new has a honeymoon phase where everything seems great. But them life settles down and you start to see the bad things.
      So the title is probably referring to that. Now that the wedding is over, and they've been married for a few weeks, the situation doesn't seem as grand as before.

    This is a very good way to show that marriage is much more than just a big party on a big day, what's important is what begins the day after. They did get married too young because they didn't have anything else figured out and I loved the fact that's being this hard for them.
    They should have been mature enough to see this, if you can't pay for your entire wedding on your own,, YOU'RE NOT READY!

    • @derekmathews1557
      @derekmathews1557 3 роки тому +3

      Yes that’s true but normally the brides parents do that or at least the bride and grooms parents split it. But you are right about the part when it comes to being married too young. It was very hard for them in the beginning, but they stuck it out, they ended up graduating, and going to New York. They turned out fine.

    Two marriage-based questions. *a.* I thought Cory _heard_ Alan and Amy talk about what marriage could do to him. Did he not? It's really simple actually: you hear your concerned parents talk about the obstacles and sacrifices you face, and then you think "Well, I really shouldn't get married now, should I?" And *b.* I saw this happen in the hall near my brother's wedding reception. A female manager was upset with a caterer, who had signed up for a one-person shift. She said she didn't think he could manage the service alone. She was sternly all, "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen. You need someone there to give you instructions and guide you." And then the caterer said, "You know, I'm beginning to see why you work so many wedding receptions." What does his comeback mean? Whats the implied reason?

      The living arrangements, yes.
      That they were only relegated to an apartment with multiple health code violations and no furnishings whatsoever is a stretch.
      Cory and Alan notoriously have bad communication habits: Alan didn't convey that he and Amy weren't going to be financially involved in getting C&T's life off the ground until after the honeymoon, just like he didn't convey to Amy that he wanted his own business until after he'd quit his previous job. And Cory didn't convey that he considered their living arrangements set until finding out the surprise with Eric & Jack, just like he didn't tell Topanga about Lauren's letter until she uncovered it...and clumsily inferred that he initiated a kiss with Missy in S3. There really shouldn't have been a traditional reconciliation between them...because it would've highlighted both Cory having his own stance on what family deserves from each other, and Alan having mixed feelings about Cory being married around the same time he was, even though both his sons did go to college through his and Amy's provision. There really aren't erased scars between fathers and sons, just some that fade easier than others to become memories.
      This season really should have been about Cory and Eric's relationship rebuilding, especially after the heartache Eric went through in both losing Rachel as a romantic partner and Tommy as a prospective child. The wedding two-parter established that Cory and Shawn's relationship wasn't going to be the same...and Eric showed that in spite of his losses, he still could go over the moon to help his brother feel supported. Michael Jacobs just didn't give enough breathing room for Eric outside of an intrusive side character.
      BUT...I fully understand Will Friedle's anxiety kicking in and them accommodating that. You just wish for what might've been.

      This is why it is NOT a good idea to get married while you're still in school no matter how in love you are! If it's true love it will wait until you graduate and find jobs and can afford a place to live! THEN get married!
