thank you!! a really great video, would like to see more of that in the future since theres nobody else doing this type of videos. And your voice is also really calm so you can understand everything you say. perfect, keep going.
the first r6 event I watched was the last 6I because I've liked g2 in other esports. i just started playing after and have about 30 hours of gameplay and no map knowledgelol, this video was super cool and helpful to make me understand what was actually happening during the major. glad this got recommended to me, great video!
Happy you're filling the void for 'ReaperEN' esque videos. Would like to see an analysis on Astralis at SI23 and maybe how SSG took down G2 in Copenhagen.
this is amazing one could add that it is also making the viewer think, that there is no push and just disjointed players. and thats why they are misunderstood.
20sec meta was my fav meta, people actually used their gadget in ranked n actually talked bout what they gonna do. Now everyone running around ash n iana with 1.5x and very attacker sided meta.
This reminded me back then Reaper would do a few ranked games on stream. And there come a remarkable idea that as he said, he would shoot every window and door and just applies pressure on anywhere his team ain’t present to help pinching. On a side note, this G2 forms strat also seems familiar to a BDS Oregon base attack an yr ago which Reaper covered. Of course the way two teams took map control is obviously different, and G2 did master their own way (which also seems better than the BDS way I mentioned as it’s less relying on solo gunfights)
Wish I'd come across this video sooner, great stuff! Bit of advice just for pacing, this video would benefit from more directly integrating your "thesis" about melusi's nerf into your 3rd point. At the 5:30 mark when you show top-down view of oregon that visualises each player's position, you could maybe explain how placing a banshee in certain positions would prevent G2 from executing. Alternatively, you could've refocused your "thesis" to "Fake Pressure" which is also a nice click-baity sounding concept that could draw viewers in. I just think the melusi point feels a bit lost, and at the 12 minute mark when you try to recap its significance, people have already forgotten your examples and its harder to link the two. Definitely subbing, looking forward to more content!
This is fantastic feedback, thank you for sharing it with me. As it’s my first video I know things aren’t perfect so I appreciate you pointing this out to me so I can improve for future videos 🙂
This is a type of strategy that can really only be used at this level of play. Most players cannot take solo pushes into the map and stay alive long enough to rendezvous with others in order to execute plans. Most are dying in the 1v1 gunfight with a roamer, or, they're being pushed by 2 def ops and stalled. Most also don't place cams to gain intel and push in. I love watching this level of play, so thanks for the breakdown!
It is endeed a really good strategy, G2 just created a new meta on SI. Those split attacks on some bombsites are just unstoppable most of the times, if the defense chooses to focus on side of the map they have to give up another areas, but if they decide to do the opposite and keep map control the attack can just put all the pressure in a single spot and break through the defense either way
Very nice video overall! The only criticism i have is that in at some points in the video you could have put better video material to support/show your points
Seeing this G2 roster completely different from the days when it was the Penta Sports roster when I played the game is crazy. I feel old or something lol
Thank you for your passion Excuse me, would you analyze how W7M use their drones in video? Their dronning skill is incredible. I want to know how they works in detail
Do you feel like the melusi nerf went too far? Considering now there are so many way to destroy gadgets safely it feels like the initial nerf has been compounded with emps, gonne 6, Kali, brava drones, the nokk buff. If you were to change melusi how would you do it?
Melusi’s biggest nerf was Brava, and now Fenrir has put the nail in the coffin for her. If attackers really wanted to attack an area then they’d just 6th pick to a Brava or Flores. Fenrir is now better in every way than Melusi so she’s completely useless
Make her a 2 speed again at the least, or keep her 1 speed and give her a 1.5x. I actually have no idea what you could do to the gadget because Fenrir’s gadget is just so much better, it’s actually hard to say without making the Banshees too overpowered again.
I'm not so sure about this analysis. You said the gadget was what made Melusi strong right? The devs didn't nerf the gadget itself (at least in your video it mentions none of that), they just nerf the operator's movement. While you could say, "nonetheless we see less melusi because of it". Then the answer would be to use more melusi to counter this meta, right? The banshee itself is still able to counter this meta.
They didn’t nerf the gadget but making an operator 1 speed is enough to deter people from playing her, ESPECIALLY when that 1 speed only has access to 1x scopes. The 1.5x is objectively superior. Player comfort comes before necessity a lot of the time in siege because it’s an fps at the end of the day.
Very good video but you’re giving TOO MUCH credit to Melusi and that single nerf. The meta changed to Defenders contesting and aggressive fragging leaving attackers at a numbers disadvantage. A single melusi nerf didn’t do this. G2 just adapted to succeeding in this meta faster than others. It’s also criminal that you didn’t mention Fabian’s coaching. Alem4o is a great player but him and G2 were struggling until Fabian showed up to coach them.
Appreciate the feedback. I understand that Melusi wasn’t the reason they won, but siege is a game of consistency and small margins. Less Melusi = more success in this playstyle. I didn’t mention Fabian as his influence is already widely regarded, I wanted to give focus to what viewers don’t always see/know inside of a game.
I know a lot of people are comparing you to Reaper right now and I get that you are trying to fill in the void but keep this up and you are gonna be bigger! I forgot how much I missed comp siege analysis 🥲

nerf in speed + no 1.5 = pick rate goes down, pick rate goes down = no melusi traps anymore, no melusi traps anymore = G2 playstyle

Yeah Windows watermark gang!
New meta? This is how siege was always played before it became so focused on gunfights.
I never claimed this to be a "new" meta. G2 executed this style of Siege the best, hence why they won SI, which is what I wanted to show.
And now they are nerfed by addition of fenrir
G2 had a 100% Fenrir banrate in the R5 North Rainbow Rumble quals 😂
@@kangrukenny theory checks out
