Yeah, one of those things you can go down the rabbit hole on. But go to enough shows and start to notice orange peel and wavy panels and bad panel transition with gaps that you could throw a dog through, and you start to get it. The paint only looks good if you put the time in beforehand.
Looks like you could run your arm up to the elbow in that paint. Not only master metal workers, but million dollar paint and body work. Great video. Thanks for sharing!
Where is part 3 of this 68 Chevelle body and paint, and stance, and finished product! I got a 68 Chevelle! And I like to see the start to finish product!
Not without modification to the tail panel - the access holes for the lights are different. Otherwise, they'd fit fine. '68 access holes are oblong horizontal, whereas the '69 holes are noticeably larger with a more vertical alignment. Designed to mate up with the appropriate tail caps to seal that area against weather.
3:58: is that a dimple at about 15 cm from the front edge of the hood? Or is it just a game of light and camera :) The paint job still looks (sic), though... Good job.
I see what you're talking about. Not sure what would have caused that in the shot, but I'm standing next to the car and it's not there in real life. Maybe something reflecting off of the stand in front of the hood. Weird.
Appreciate the comment. People do come and go for various reasons, but we’re lucky to have a great team. We just try to give people as much autonomy as possible, get them exciting projects with great customers, and let them do what they’re best at by keeping as much of the negative aspects of this business off their plate as possible.
Finally, a rod shop that sprays the interior parts that are covered when the car is finished!!
That paint looks like you could swim in it! So many people don't seem to realize how much work goes into a good paint job.
Several clear coats, always love a mile deep shine.
and gives you plenty of material to sand down the orange peel...
Then ppl complain when they are given a quote on a high end paint job like this. So much work and effort goes into an amazing finish like this!

One day I’ll either have a car made by this shop or I’ll work at this shop in some shape or form
Could always use more good customers or talented team members!

Can the rear brake lights be installed from a 1969 to a 68? I like the fact that primer goes on pink. Awesome job guys.

Thanks for the info.@@frobish0145
What did yall coat the inerior with?
Epoxy, then it’ll be covered in Soundskins sound deadening, padding, and then carpet when we install the interior.
Guys you should always have the last scene of the video be a conclusion shot that shows what was done in the whole episode!
Great feedback 👍🏻

As long as the car is OK :) Thanx for the reply.
What’s it take for me to submit my dads chevelle for a whole remodel?
You can contact us at info@classiccarstudio.com for prices and estimates.
@1:43, replace that with Glasurit 1006-26.
👍🏻 will discuss with the team and our BASF reps
Magistral
69, not 68.
Your shop seems to have a very low turnover rate for employees. That speaks volumes about what a great company you have.
