How to have fun with a Trenchgun (in game): 1) Activate Voip. 2) Take the Trenchgun and like 20 shells. 3) Go in the raid. 5) Get the most close range POI you can find. 6) Wait at preferably a staircase or any other close corner where you have a lot of cover. 7) Wait and don't make a sound until a player happens to walk by. 8) 1 or 2 shot them. 9) Have fun with their screams of anger and grief. 10) Run for your live cuz they probably have friends. 11) Share the clip of them screaming with all your friends and the Maruaders Discord server.
I think the biggest issue is that the trench guns spread is like its firing a 3 inch magnum shell out of a 3 inch barrel. At the range youre using it it should be having all pellets hit the torso with one or two occasional fliers. Video games refuse to do shotguns justice.
The spread of the shotgun is so garbage, honestly. The devs put in the time to study weapons but don't know that shotguns at close range have extremely tight groupings. Balance or not. If you can one tap someone with most guns to the head, the shotgun should have tighter spread. Just sayin'. Lol. The first shot missing wildly is due to the gun isn't at the ready when you fired. The barrel was still facing that direction and this game fires from the barrel, not the cursor or the 'head' like other FPS games.

This game is tragically dead but it deserves to be. Devs who suffer from a rampant identity crisis, a volatile toxic playerbase, and they listen to whiny clip hunting content creators

I guess firing from the barrel is technically more accurate… but it makes me way less accurate!
I think it balances the gun a little bit. Most shotguns in games are one shots and can be very annoying in environments like this games .
