There is absolutely nothing strange about the technique of reloading the bullet after firing a round. If you fire a bolt action gun, your hand is not going to pass the bullet automatically like a robot... A bolt action rifle fires and to pass the next bullet you have to pull the bolt back to eject the empty shell, and there you decide if you want to pass the next bullet by closing the bolt, or if you didn't pull it all the way back the bolt you can place a single new bullet in the chamber to close it and shoot.
@@kykiske321 I'm totally aware of that. However, hunt showdown is one of the only games I have personally played where you can perform this technique. As far as the top rear receiver marking on the auto 5, I have several that were among my grandad's duck guns. One of them, from when he shipped them to New Orleans form Belgium in 1922. The 16ga is marked as such in this location. Our current theory is that as this was before FN actually started importing them in 16ga in 1923, the port of Orleans required all non commercial imports to be marked. Given that this one also had an extended magazine tube installed by an official FN smith in Brussels, and the marking lacks the yellow and green gold inlay, we think this was a special request he made to the factory. Developer and Jonathan interaction is great! it's interesting to see people who animate the guns take constructive criticism and appreciate input from firearm experts
Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone cares to fix them. I'm happy to see the developers correcting the reload animation on the Sharps. It's a small but meaningful detail.
Good job on having the correct chapter title for Berthier 1892 Artillery carbine even though Jonathan had an "oopsie" and called it a Model 1890 Cavalry carbine (that one would not accept a bayonet).
if you guys could have devs in a call while jonathan is analyzing the guns I think that would be super cool so we could hear whether jonathans guesses on inspiration are close
That's insane, getting the animators to interact in this, taking the advice even, its just soo cool, priceless opportunity, I don't know if there has been more times something like this happened but it would be cool if there was
If you do an episode 3 (please do), please show Jonathan the Vetterli, and also some variants of guns he saw in these episodes. Perhaps also sound cues, like how the in-game test range shows the sound of guns at different distances
PLEASE check out receiver 2. It has exatly what Jonathan was talking about with actually interacting with the gun like you would in real life. A button for each function etc.
Yeah, the way reciver lets you come up with your own reload system is very cool. But it requires a lot more effort from the player to get good clips as opposed to just pressing the "reload" button and waiting for the animation to finish.
@@dark2023-1lovesoni True, demonstrating advanced gameplay would take some time. But the game does have a "shooting range" mode, so getting a little practice and just demonstrating all the guns and mechanics should be simple enough. (Can also unlock everything from the debug menu to save more time - Press Ctrl + F12 while paused)
Actually, what if they just had Jonathan play reciver himself. That'd probably give him a better chance to examine the way that game handles firearm manipulation.
@@dark2023-1lovesoni Fair point, actually. It might be a decent idea for a special "let's play"-ish episode, if they've got the time and inclination. Receiver is very much one of those games that puts everyone on equal footing at the start anyway, due to the unorthodox controls - Might as well be him learning it :P
A few other comments have also mentioned this, you guys should get Johnathan to check out Receiver 2, you interact with every part of the gun in that game
3:50 - For reference, this rifle was called Crown & King instead of Browning for licensing purposes. There are many other guns in the game where they had to change the name, but most are true to their original design. Other guns where manufacturers were defunct or their governments had been disbanded (ie. the Russian Empire for the Mosin) got to keep their original names, so no licensing issues there.
I would looooove to see an updated / third look at Hunt: Showdown. There have been lots of new weapons added! They LISTENED to Jonathan's recommendation on the Martin-Henry Harston Magazine and added it to the game! along with a Springfield Krag, a drilling combination gun, a derringer firing penny-filled buckshot shells.... a Bergmann No. 1 with a suppressor!! You could also showcase how some of the guns can be operated with fanning and levering traits.
The devs love the community, a utuber I like mentioned that one of the houses had a chimney but no fireplace so they added a wood stove in the house, super small but cool nonetheless
5:09 Receiver 2 is possibly the closest you can get to that. Might be a good choice for a future episode, particularly if you want to talk about shooting yourself in the leg with a Desert Eagle
5:04 here's a fun point about many of the bolt action guns. If you want to top up your Lebel or Mosin, you open the bolt and lose whatever bullet was in the chamber. However, if you just fired and do not release the fire button, you can press reload and you'll eject the spent casing before topping up, losing no ammo.

The gameplay footage is normal but anytime Jonathan is on camera it's almost motion sickness inducing how bad the framerate is. His other videos aren't that bad, did something happen with this footage? You can REALLY tell at 8:54 with the side by side.

With the upcoming event in Hunt, this is pretty relevant since I believe they're adding it into the game this coming event on... The 14th of this month (December for those looking at this comment in the future) I believe
"But that would be incredibly nit-picky of me."
Hunt Animators: "On it."
i waited for this one for SOOOO LONG, thank you!
That C96 Akimbo animation, I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.
Amazing that we got a second video! Thank you so much this is so cool.
Props to the devs. Could easily have done nothing but instead engaged with the feedback and had their own questions
It's an amazing piece of knowledge that John Browning created the Auto 5, the first Automatic Shotgun, in a time when Pump-action and lever-action shotguns were just coming in. He was truly ahead of his time!
Wooh! The Day Has Come, Love Seeing Part 2 Of Jonathan Reacting To My Favorite Game Ever!
I'm glad they showed him the dual Dolch reload. I didn't expect him to say it could actually work though.
You didn't show him the video the devs made of the Mosin Avtomat, where they showed that the bolt actually rotates like Jonathan said it had to!
Never seen that, can you link it?
I hope more game Developers reach out more to gun Experts as it was super refreshing to see the care and eagerness expressed by the Hunt team.
The Quickloader for the Martini will be implemented during the next Hunt Event!
That magazine fed Martini Henry you had has to be one of the coolest firearms of it's era in my opinion. Thanks Jonathan for great content as always!
It would be cool to see more of hunt showdown, and if possible have him react to the different variations of weapons within the game and explain the difference between each variation. There are like 5 Winchester’s in game and I want to hear his explanation of each one and it’s comparison between theme
That's insane, getting the animators to interact in this, taking the advice even, its just soo cool, priceless opportunity, I don't know if there has been more times something like this happened but it would be cool if there was
Jonathan needs to see Receiver 2, where you literally interact with every mechanic of the available guns.
Felt so proud seeing how impressed he was with the dual reload for the Mausers
The sequel we didn't know we needed.
also the Mauser timestamp section was named C69... wonder if on purpose :)
Super cool! Hope to see more clips of developer-requested reactions and analyses
I still have a strong feeling that Jonathan would thoroughly enjoy the weapons of the order 1886
The actual praise for the reload on the dual Mauser's is i think the most genuine sounding for a bizarre reload.
A few other comments have also mentioned this, you guys should get Johnathan to check out Receiver 2, you interact with every part of the gun in that game
Love this series. Great that the devs got involved.
Someone should show him the actual cleaning element to it, or the legendary versions for pristine guns
10:40 The Harston quick loader variant is being added to the game in game update 1.11. It was teased along the Krag.
Jonathan: and when you break the stock this thing becomes much more handy but a lot harder to aim
me looking at vanguard: right...
At 5:00 Jonathan is literally describing the game Receiver (2). I'm amazed that they haven't done that game yet.
The devs love the community, a utuber I like mentioned that one of the houses had a chimney but no fireplace so they added a wood stove in the house, super small but cool nonetheless
I can't wait for him to see the magazine attachment for the martini Henry
We need MOAR Jonathan Ferguson on Hunt Showdown !
With the latest update to Hunt they have added the Martini Henry system he mentioned :D
5:09 Receiver 2 is possibly the closest you can get to that. Might be a good choice for a future episode, particularly if you want to talk about shooting yourself in the leg with a Desert Eagle
Yes. I've been waiting for more Hunt!
Minor error in the UA-cam chapters: it says Mauser C69, not C96. Just thought I'd point that out, I think you can edit it afterwards
So happy you did this episode!
Please show Jonathan the weapons in the Killzone series. I'd love to see if he finds them cursed or cool.
100% I love them.
YESSS. I wanna see him comment on the Killzone weapons.
Especially the Sickle shotgun, which has two barrels and can fire Regular and explosive buckshot.
I already knew Hunt clearly had an awesome team behind it, this just cemented that.
