Def one of the better up close reviews and you showed all the things I was looking for that other people didn’t. On that note mine came in today lol but I’m not home but I will be tomorrow and sure as hell I’ll be testing mine too.
Great review....im definitely a fan of the rope runner and I think the really did well addressing the issue with the pro version....thanks for the slick pin tip👍 Stay safe stay healthy
Thanks for posting up your feedback. My RR Pro showed up yesterday. I have been climbing on the original RR for several years now and it is still my favorite device for SRT. I have read/watched all the feedback I can find on the RR Pro but to be honest I didn't need to. By far the biggest "issue" I have heard about is the allen wrench. I adjusted my RR Pro right out of the box using the wrench and it worked OK. I can tell it's not a "high quality" tool and I will very likely be tossing it for a better wrench. I'm looking forward to getting some actual climb time on it to see how it compares to the original. Thanks again for the video and keep yourself safe! 😎👍❤️🌲 Randy
the rrpro works very well with the xstatic. thats one of my favorite climbing ropes. I also have my rrpro set to just under the #3 on the friction bollard. im going to flip the slic pin on the bird as well. thanks for the tip.
I have 2 Rope Wrenches and love them except on long descents I use a Petzl Piranha to save my friction hitches. I use VT also.I have 2 DMM Captain Hooks and they are great!!
Very nicely done sir👌! It does look better in every single way then the OG runner! This also makes me glad i went with the akimbo instead. Zigzag for MRS and my OG runner and Akimbo for SRS I think will do me just fine.
Thanks and no it doesn't hurt my hand it is smooth on the top and I don't believe there's a bump, im going from memory because its in the shop, i just got it but I will double check, I believe its flat.
I don't know if I agree with you.... I got one of the first rope runner pros and I still think the zigzag is better... Smoother better tending,I understand it isn't midline attachable but I don't find it as smooth as a zigzag.....
Ya the zigzag wrench is as smooth as it gets, i agree with that, but i think its a pretty good device so far, keep in mind I don't have much use on it yet, thanks for watching! 🤟
@@PoplarMechanic No problem brother.....I'm a climber here in Ontario...Great vids ...Nice to see some Canadian content when it comes to climbing aspects...keep up the great work...
I can't remember exactly right now, (at work) it may say on the tree stuff website, they usually come in packs anyway so your sure to get the right one
I did notice that being taller on redirect it was getting side load from a little branch. But I love it is mid-life attachable, unlike my Zigzag pro. I still grab my RRP over Zigzag lol
Well it is nice there is no question about that, I still use the akimbo alot, I would say more that the rrp. They both have there qualities but if your like me you'll want em both 😆, everybody is different but I would say if you got it, it wouldn't disappoint, its very smooth and the pulley is a nice feature for tending.
Have you seen this video where this fine climber and employee from Notch says you aren’t supposed to use the Rope Runner pro the way you had it in the end where you say, “probably not recommended…”? She says use a device to keep the ropes separate. Here it is, (it’s a good video to watch btw). It’s at the very end of her talk… ua-cam.com/video/_qvCMF9g3xA/v-deo.html Thanks for doing this review. I love my rope runner pro, so thankful for it.
Ya, they should have fixed that issue though, You should be able to 3:1, you can do it with any other device safley, but I never really use that anyway I just know some people do so I addressed it, thanks for watching man, and ill definitely check out that video, Be safe! 🤙
One of my top 5 UA-camrs. I always enjoy your content and generally i get to learn something cool too. :)
Thanks Josh, greatly appreciated, you stay safe out there brotha 🤟

Great review man...no bs and very interesting!
Fred Kruger would have probably added this to his arsenal of finger knives.
Nice review. Thanks for the information and professional approach. You covered it well.
Thanks man, appreciate it 👊
@@PoplarMechanic you're welcome. Thank you 👊
Excellent review! I have a clear afternoon, going to take mine out to the old testing tree for some r&d with a few different ropes. Thanks! 🌲

hows it going nice vid i have a question does the new runner have the baby bump and did the bird beek hurt your hand at all.

Nice review, man.
What size Allen wrench is it?
Just ordered my RR Pro and planning on having a good one ready for when it gets here.

Now that it's been 2 months which do like better between the Akimbo and Rope Runner Pro?
You know, I like them both about the same, I use the akimbo alot still.
Good video dude.
Thanks man 🤟
nice review, hope they'll bring it to Europe with CE.
Yes that would be awesome, thanks for watching man! 👊

Yes it can be useful to use 3to1 thats why I mentioned it, i hope the review helped you out. Thanks for watching 🤟
I wonder why yours has alil hole near the top where it says rope runner pro? Mine doesn’t have that hole
Hmmm honestly I don't know, its the first one I have seen. Thats odd. Well let me know if you figure it out, ill maybe check the manual.
Poplar Mechanic nothing in the Manual about it , is there anything in your manual about it ?
@@Disciple-of-Jesus-c1 I havnt looked but one of my buddies said its for oil in his manual, ill double check mine when I get home
Where’d you order it from and how much was it?!
www.treestuff.com/notch-rope-runner-pro/
Here's the link, when I ordered it it was exclusively at tree stuff, that may have changes now though.
Attachment point looks a bit thin.
I agree, I havnt heard of anything going wrong with it so far
what rope are you using?
Xstatic is my favorite rope right now
What setting?👊😎
