@@topsaw yes! I actually don't use my chest harness anymore and end up using my work positioning lanyard ove my shoulder to the middle hole, then clip my knee ascender to that. Love the channel, thanks for all the great content!
checkout Lawrence Schultz methode. He just walks it up like a ladder. BUT watch out when using/triying a rope wrench it can collapse the knot and you will go down when not watching out for that in a attempt to sit in the rope while ascending. The space of the rope wrench to the knot is crucial.
Thanks for showing me it is harder than the pros make it look to use this setup. I have mostly the same setup (different foot and knee ascenders) and I too am struggling to get it perfect like you but it is nice and getting easier with each use. Great video!
Doing great man! Learning how to implement all the srt stuff and be proficient with rope walking takes some time. But it can make a world of difference in work. love to see people developing their repertoire 👍👏👏

Nice video I like double rope with the zigzag been using it for years .I also bought a chicane haven’t got used to the single line technique rope walking deal But find it useful for For a Bass Tie Into a neighboring tree not isolating a crotch just shooting a line over a strong crotch then climbing the rotten or dangerous tree
Same with me, hard to get it fully integrated into my system. Lot of gear to keep track of. I like to show up to the job and get started rather then spending too much time getting set up.
I have the zigzag for drt but I use my rope wrench for srt with a shorty tether. I would like to get a chicane, but I would like it to be a couple inches shorter to be more compact. I don't know if petzl is worķing on a more compact chicane, but I think it would be a good idea. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for another awesome video. Really like watching your channel! I switched to the REON Rounds Teather. So much better than that floppy piece of pooh, Chicane. Ridiculous that they didn't design it with two legs so you can attach it directly to the zigzag. Having to attach it with a carabiner makes it so you cannot pull on the teather without it flopping back and forth. Sucks when limb walking and you grab the teather for stability and it flops backwards. Reon Rounds teather is 200 bucks but worth every penny. I should probably just sell my Chicane.
Don’t pull on the Chicane, it’s hand over hand on your rope above the Chicane. You will have speed and be in a straight upright position, as opposed to kicked outwards. It’s not a hand ascender like your using it as. Hope this helps. We use these daily and there amazing
Agreed, looks like you're putting in more effort than you need to. I just use my hands to keep myself upright on the rope, my feet do all the climbing. The zigzag/chicane tend themselves
Thanks for posting your video! One thing that might make your accent easier would be to clip into your chest harness. It will then self tend and you won’t have to push it up, much easier and smoother too! Keep up the good work!
You need to attach your zigzag to your chest harness so it will be self tending and that will also keep you upright so you aren’t leaning back as much. Also u need to tighten your bridge so there’s no slop. Less slop the better when rope walking. You want your attachment point at your waist . And you need to use both feet to climb up. You should practice to the point that you can climb without even using your hands to pull up. Once you have everything set up properly then it will be super easy to climb up to the canapy using the rope walking method.
I think all the extra stuff on your waist is what is making it so much work. Just those 2 Petzel gear are >$500 + rope + +++. So you have to know how much money your tree needs are. I'll keep the Petzl family fed with helmet and carabiner money. Throw the trinkets in the trash and go back to DRT for day-to-day work. Simplicity, efficiency, and technique.
Clip another carabiner from the chest harness to the middle hole of the zig zag. It will tend itself up the rope while you ascend 🤙
That's a great idea. It is always the small things that make a big difference!

If I might add.....going hand over hand on the rope and try to ascend more upright by concentrating on putting your hips and legs behind you....

Best video I found and I been searching for a while on this particular gear
Glad it helped, thank you

Tree climbing has gotten so complex from the old days. Every improvement just makes the job easier
Even with practice looks hard to use it. Thanks for your video and greetings from Puerto Rico.
Thank you. I've always wanted to go to PR and do tree work

I like the idea of a shorter tether

Thanks, yes it is a funny feature to have not a solid connection
Many thanks I really liked that
Thank you
After buying a zig n chic...I found the Uniscender is the most compact and midline attached...zig is smoother...thx
Thanks

Very complicated, sometimes I feel too much

Thank you, good advice I'll give that a try. You can see in the video, I lay back too far.
Whats your favorite/easiest way of getting up tree to top anchor, flip line an gaffs or throwline an ropewalk?
Favorite is a bucket truck, after that gaffs if it is a removal

How's that Husqvarna Cordless Electric Chainsaw work for you, what model are you using ?

Yes, that is correct, how I use it now
Can you use a zigzag with a rope wrench?
Best to check with the manufacturer on that one
How did you carry that big 362??
Nice to have the cut speed even though it is pretty heavy.
Do you recommend getting the zigzag with the chicane?
Yes I would for single rope technique. Only the Zigzag for double rope technique.
use a knee ascender and chest harness
Yes, good way to go

Ok
Looks like a rope wrench to me. Guess they tweaked it to get around patents.
Yes, first idea and product was certainly the rope wrench then everybody saw what a good idea it was and came up with their own
