Excellent tip Buddy!!! Just got my XRT for my Birthday and first thing I noticed is trying to not pinch my wires and ended up running it that way and will definitely not ever doing that again. Thank you for helping me not destroy 1400.00 dollars worth of car and batteries!!
This is so helpful!! I’m a newbie and when I was placing the batteries in the xrt I was afraid of pinching the wires just as you demonstrated. This makes perfect sense. Thank you very much for this video!
Merry Christmas everyone! Just got my XRT today. And attempted to follow instructions(I'm a Nitro Guy, This Is New To Me). And it wasn't sitting well with me nor looked right. Glad I saw your video, now I need to watch more of your channel. Thank you so much for taking the time to upload this video. 👍👏🤝
Merry Christmas! Yeah Traxxas didn’t do a good job explaining this in the instruction manual, sometimes I wonder if they just copy and paste certain sections in the instructions, either way, it doesn’t work well with this set up, glad I could help and thanks for watching!
Thanks, yeah I would definitely take care of your batteries and the way you install them, it could save you a lot of money in the long run, thanks for watching!😁🤙
Kinda glad you guys get things first to iron out all these little things so when the rest of us get it we know right away 😆 Nice tip man , good video 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks for posting this man I have a xmaxx and the trays on it are way better than the xrt. This is the first thing I noticed when I went to put my batteries in I said why the fuck did they use this style they could of used the same exact ones the x maxx used.
@RC Reviews yes bro exactly. Only had it for a month or so now. Actually got it used from the hobby store owner so I has the upgraded traxxas servo and metal control links in the front. It's awesome handles and drives great. Upgraded to max 6 right off the bat and sold back rhe traxxas esc to the shop. With the speed gearing installed its tons of fun. And iv been a arrma fan boy for a long time lol.
So your telling me it's ok to turn the battery face down bc I was having problems with my zeee batteries in my xrt bc even tho they fit it's really snug and I'm always having trouble adjusting the wire on the one battery that you put face down also
Thanks, yeah I’m not sure why the battery compartment wasn’t thought out better, I agree maybe in a later version, as these trucks get bigger and bigger with more power and brick size batteries accommodations need to be made 👍
awesome video! I have two questions...i'm very new to rc's and have purchased the xrt. on the first time out I noticed I would temporarily lose signal between the transmitter and the truck meaning I would hit the throttle and nothing would happen. The batteries in the transmitter and truck were both new. The next questions is to turn the truck off? just unplug the battery correct? or is there another way I should be doing it? ANY SUGGESTIONS? Thank you
Thanks, to answer your first question, there could be something causing radio signal interference, this has happened to me before with some of my other Rc’s, not sure what causes it, it doesn’t necessarily mean your truck is defective, it could be your run location, in my situation, where I used to do my run videos, there was a cluster of power lines and a fire station down that road and when I would drive my Rc’s down the street in that direction I would sometimes lose signal, everywhere else was fine, also be sure that you don’t drive to far away out of line of sight, to turn off your truck you should just unplug the batteries, this is a newer feature Traxxas has implemented for safety, to insure that you don’t just turn off the truck and leave your batteries plugged up, some people don’t like this feature, they prefer to manually turn it off at the esc, me personally, I don’t mind either way, fyi you should never just turn off an Rc and leave the batteries plugged up for any long period of time as it will continue to drain your battery even when it’s not turned on, resulting in battery damage due to surpassing LVC! Hopefully this helps,if you have any more questions feel free to hit me up, thanks for watching!🤙
Thanks for the video! Do you do the same with the Maxx v2? That fit is extremely tight. I actually ripped the shrink wrap on the battery during my last bash.
Yeah I do it the same way with the Maxx v2, only with the Maxx v2 I run it with the battery connector hanging out towards the rear of the truck instead of towards the front like we did in this video, thanks for watching brother 🤙
Thanks! Great tip! Following the instructions in the manual just wouldnt work. Makes you wonder if TRAXXAS used a consumer model when writing the instructions.
When it comes to batteries, it can definitely eliminate a cause of a fire yes! what can happen is if both battery lines get damaged while your running the truck and they touch, the batteries could catch fire!
@@rcreviews9894 Yeah. Mine still runs too. Probably got it that long ago. Fantastic little RC. I put a wild Willy jr body on mine. It’s in a vid on my channel if your interested in seeing it.
@@JaxTellerRC yeah lol, honestly though that’s probably one of the best toy grade Rc’s, don’t know why they stop making them, they were pretty cheap too! Like 30 bucks at Walmart lol
Good God of the shadow people. Before I finish this video I have to say the head shadow is very VERY annoying to watch. Better lighting is required. Now back to figuring out battery orientation. Already nicked and taped mine and was never happy how I was installing them. Look forward to more videos.... With proper lighting! Thanks.
Yeah my bad, someone else mentioned that too, this video was kinda of a spur of the moment kinda thing, I had just ran the XRT, made my way to the Rc room and had to tell everyone about this while it was on my mind, no preparation really and I was still kinda of out of breath from chasing it down after I flipped it in the street 😆 my other videos have better lighting, I promise 😁🤙
there is actually a small spot under the area that the batteries clip at for you to tuck the battery wires under. It seems like nobody is aware of this..
Dude. Them wires aren’t that dangerous. Lol. And no it’s not a risk using that battery with electrical tape on it. Haha. If you gonnna throw it out and AFRAID to use it ,give it to me ! I’ve been in RC for 40 yrs. Btw. Own MANY .
I destroyed a brand new battery the first time I put it in the xrt what a horrible design xmax is way better thanks for sharing this video great information your video should be put in the manual

@@user-wp9mz thanks again, your are right though, the Xmaxx battery tray is easier to deal with, sometimes I wonder if Traxxas just copy and pastes the instructions for some of their kits because the way they explain it when it comes to the XRT is just a total fail

Does this lessen the chance of the rig catching fire?
