Thank you! I wouldn’t have thought to freeze a Brie cheese! I’ve frozen Monterey Jack cheese. The texture was different but it tasted fine. I’m going to be freezing the shredded pepper jack I found today on sale. I’ll be putting it in a canning jar, then vacuum sealing before it goes into the freezer.
I am glad to help. Yes, I know this because I worked in food production and we often freeze cheese. It is fine after. The only cheeses you should not freeze are fresh cheeses. You can save money by buying cheese on sale, and freezing it.
I'm currently thinking about buying my cheeses early for Thanksgiving, but I'm scared to freeze it because I'm not sure if the cheese will lose texture or not.
I understand however the answer really depends on the type of cheeses you are planning to freeze. Hard cheeses like cheddar freeze well but they do become slightly more fragile after freezing. If you want to cut the cheese into cubes, large slices or grate it freezing won't make a difference. If you want to cut thin slices then it may be a little harder. Cheeses like brie and goat cheese freeze very well with very little change. What are the cheeses you want to freeze and what will you use them for?
It works fine except for fresh cheese. I buy cheese in big quantities to save money and freeze. Plus, that I go to the grocery less which is a safer strategy right now. Thanks for watching and commenting.
How long can I keep a cheese in Freezer? I bought fresh packed sealed cheese. I put it in freeze last year, so it is expired, but because it is frozen, it still good, i guess. But how long can I keep cheese frozen?
Generally, one year is the suggested time frame as long as the plastic is thick. If you freezer keeps a good frozen temperature then the cheese should be safe to eat. The suggestion of one year is because the quality can deteriorate. The cheese can dry out a bit and get freezer burn. If the cheese is okay quality wise it should be fine. I would suggest thawing it soon and using it.
@@EasyGlutenFree thank you very much for your answer. I was thinking, maybe even if the quality deteriorates, the cheese will not get spoiled. Cause it is bacteria that causes danger. But since the cheese is frozen, maybe it ca be ok. Like I know, there are veggies that can be stored more that 2 years and they will not be spoiled, i was hoping, i could do the same with cheese, God bless you
Yes, if your freezer stays below freezing, the cheese might slowly dry out a bit unless have it very well wrapped, but it will be safe to eat. The legal maximum for commercial freezers is -18 C or 0 F. If your freezer is consistently that cold, the cheese will be good. I buy cheese on sale and freeze. Good luck and thank you for feedback. 🙂
Yes. Absolutely no problem to freeze mac n cheese. When I make it ai always make extra to freeze for another day. You can freeze any cooked pasta as long as the noodles are covered with sauce or oil. Don't freeze cooked pasta with no sauce because it will dry out. But once it's covered there is no problem. Thanks for asking and for visiting my channel.
The freezing process breaks down the proteins a bit but if you can eat cheese without any trouble you should be able to eat cheese that has been frozen. However, cheese can be harder to digest so if you have a sensitive stomach or if you are lactose intolerant then cheese can bother your digestion.
I freeze all cheeses however, soft cheeses like Brie and Goat cheese will be slightly softer after freezing. Very hard cheeses like cheddar will be slightly more brittle when you cut them. This doesn't bother me but there can be a slight texture change when freezing soft cheese. I also freeze cottage cheese and cream cheese with no noticeable change. Take care.

Shredded sometimes gets more crumbly after freezing but once it melts, no biggie

@@EasyGlutenFree thank you! I have been wondering about this for so long!!! This is so very helpful!
She cut the cheese.
Is freeze cheese suitable for sensitive tummy

How long will frozen cheese last, 12 months?
Yes. 12 months with a freezer at 0 F/-18 C. It must be well-wrapped or in an airtight container so that it doesn’t dry out or get freezer burn.
