A lot of the things we buy don't really make us happy so using those KonMari rules to declutter expenses really works.
I like how Marie and the interpreter team up and snap back with “I’m not here to organise things for you” and “Well it sparks joy (let’s just move on)” Perfect responses! I work as a translator and like interpreters our job always gets overlooked. Not funny to put the interpreter under the spotlight because it was totally unnecessary
I was formerly an interpreter and I just want to say that when he started rapping, in reality I would've tried to cut him off at some point to actually translate, but I would've been internally screaming. It's nerve wracking when you accumulate too much to be translated even if you're taking notes. Kudos to the interpreter, she was awesome and her translations were fast and fluid.
U can learn from her and practice yourself. Although this world do fill up with angels but u have to save yourself because you are more capable than many others.
I would not say it's a rip off per se, because Kondo's show is very trendy right now. And most shows like Ellen and Kimmel need to stay culturally relevant. So they did it. But conan do did the same thing many years ago, before this was a thing.
Same here- I adore her, and after the first two weeks of chaos I've managed to stay neat and organized. Life is less stressful and more pleasant thanks to Marie. :-)
Budleee Bazz yeah this annoys me tbh, ik its for a joke or to promote her shows, but at the same time it feels a bit disrespectful to marie, for instance in ellens case their recent marie kondos vids where the staff says “yeah i put all the stuff back in my office”
Yup. I know they are joking but I feel they are disrespecting her. I finished her book and I understood why socks were a very important piece of clothing to her and why we should be thankful for it. Ah well, at least it’s not a one off joke since everyone is actually doing the same gag.
Budleee Bazz yeah ikr and others might said “oh ur such a sensitive its just a joke” but ever felt like people ignored all the effort you put in your work and moved on in a breeze like nothing. That sucks :( Cant they at least be more respectful about it, im sure if japanese watches this vid they might get offended
Honestly, I want to start my own talk show, invite Marie Kondo, and bask in her amazingness. She's so unique and grateful for everything. We can all take notes from her.
There's actually three syllables in her first name - the fact that it's spelled the same way as the common western name "Marie" is just a coincidence. It's まりえ or mah-ree-eh. Also her last name is pronounced kohn-doh, not kahn-do. Japanese pronunciation is pretty straightforward: just pronounce every vowel (don't combine the "i" and "e" in this case, for example) and pronounce each vowel the same way every time (it doesn't change based on English spelling).
DTwo I think in the context of an English-speaking audience, she chooses the pronunciation “mar-ee” as it’s easier for English speakers to understand. Not sure about Kondo though.
It's so cute that Marie stayed cool, even it's obvious that that they're making fun of her method on introduction to the house, expressing gratitude to things, and waking up the books.
Exactly like my room. LOL Every time I tidy it up, several days later it'll be messy again, and I have no idea how that happen... I only come home after work to sleep or play video games... For now, I'm blaming my cats who did all that mess... XD

Nick Lewis Conan’s head would probably explode when she and Jordan’s schlansky decide to give gratitude toward his Italian espresso machine.
@@howo357 Jordan would never stop talking about minimalism
I'd be crying of laughter. Although I think Kimmel is kind of cute, so I think everything he doesn't is cute...But Coco definitely funnier.
Right!! He makes all his guests appear hilarious while being properly respectful.
Marie Kondo is like your first sip of Sprite. Just bright and crisp! She's a magical tidying fairy!
Love how Marie just nodded the whole time Jimmy was rapping. She is so sweet
That was uncomfortable to watch
Cannot wait for season 2 on Netflix. She is phenomenal! I love her energy and how wisely she is approaching everything she does.
I don't know who the interpreter is, but I want her to know she did an amazing job and I aspire to be as good as she is!!!
She's a better comedian than Jimmy!
Anton Adelson Erm yeah
I like how Marie and the interpreter team up and snap back with “I’m not here to organise things for you” and “Well it sparks joy (let’s just move on)” Perfect responses! I work as a translator and like interpreters our job always gets overlooked. Not funny to put the interpreter under the spotlight because it was totally unnecessary
When Jimmy started to sing "Rain", after a while at 6:00, Marie whispered, "(I see) It's a long song." . LOL
I didn't know that we need Marie Kondo in our lives, but apparently we do. And I kinda love this. Damn you, Netflix.
*Can she help me to sort out my life ?*
That's Iyanla Van Zant lol
Does it spark joy? No? Get rid of it.
(please just don't take this seriously)
your living space is a representation of your attitude to life. Clean your damn house !!
U can learn from her and practice yourself. Although this world do fill up with angels but u have to save yourself because you are more capable than many others.
We already saw this on Conan with Jordan Schlansky! Rip Off Jimmy ;)
nope. it is a very common concept and marie kondo's popularity has been increasing lately
I would not say it's a rip off per se, because Kondo's show is very trendy right now.
And most shows like Ellen and Kimmel need to stay culturally relevant. So they did it.
But conan do did the same thing many years ago, before this was a thing.
The basic premise of any talk show is to promote the latest book, movie, and trends-like the news, but interesting 🌊
lol who cares...
Vegans ruining the mood in the room, per usual 🙄
Must be exhausting for the translator
I knew about this little bee 2 years ago and i did let go of many things i'm happy she's got more recognition she's such a joy
Same here- I adore her, and after the first two weeks of chaos I've managed to stay neat and organized. Life is less stressful and more pleasant thanks to Marie. :-)
I hate him more every day. She is so sweet. Stormy Daniel’s, really? jerk
@7:27 lmfaooooooo had to add the roache huh just had tooo fucken hilarious 😂 👍🏼
That was so disrespectful. I`m tired of seeing this jerk. Not gonna bother on watching him anymore.
Orlando Torres K
She's so peaceful and happy it's wholesome
"You know how to translate 'Rumpus' don't you?" was the best line
She's cute as a button
Her face says "I hate this guy, but it's okay cos I'm gna make millions from this interview" 🤣
shes sooo cute!! She reminds me of a little elf lol
U don't know Japanese culture. That's typical fake Japanese face they give to foreigners.
I thought it would be different but basically every comedian, host, etc2 did the same thing with the same tone. Oh well,
Budleee Bazz yeah this annoys me tbh, ik its for a joke or to promote her shows, but at the same time it feels a bit disrespectful to marie, for instance in ellens case their recent marie kondos vids where the staff says “yeah i put all the stuff back in my office”
That sucks :(
Cant they at least be more respectful about it, im sure if japanese watches this vid they might get offended
I thought Hasan was pretty respectful tbh
Mine he was definitely the most respectful of all the comedians, probably because he’s not culturally ignorant like the rest
Marie Kondo is so tiny and excitable. She is like that fluffy pet bunny that you just must hug.
Dang Jimmy can bust lines better than most modern rappers
Team Z-One
Lol... He wasn’t rapping. He was delivering classic outro lines from “Walking In The Rain”. 👫☔️ It is all spoken.
I, Always spoken outro lines are better than anything lil pump has produced
ripdajacker23
💯
Marie Kondo's concepts helped me clean my room for the first time in years!
It feels like they aren’t really taking the opportunity to actually get some advice and are just mocking her
Honestly, I want to start my own talk show, invite Marie Kondo, and bask in her amazingness.
OMG, the ode to Oran “Juice” Jones🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jimmy is so yawn-inducing
If you don't have something nice to say don't say it.
This video sparks joy
At least Jimmy gave more respect than other talk shows
I havent seen how Marie Kondo has been treated in other talk shows but Jimmy was acting disrespectful and not open to Marie's way of cleaning
This guy gave zero respect. I don't know how you can give less than that.
It's so cute that Marie stayed cool, even it's obvious that that they're making fun of her method on introduction to the house, expressing gratitude to things, and waking up the books.
Show her some respect
I have been opening a package of peanuts for this entire video, and I have still not gotten them…
Please someone give me scissors
She is so pure I love her!!!
He’s a comedian! They probably had a nice conversation behind cameras 🎥
Conan would of nailed this! Kimmel just made it awkward...
SS 44 *Would’ve/would have
@@Pleaseopenyoureyes Sorry i speak Aussie
That translator is spot on. Great work and handled so really difficult linguistic hurdles
Disrespectful.
I personally think that Jimmy was far more respectful than most other talk show hosts.
Just imagine this with Conan. It'll be a laugh a minute
Conan will just continuously hit on her in a jokingly fashion where he ends up as the butt of the joke.
Marie kondo is so patience and kind.
Ok Jimmy with the Costco KS vitamin C 500mg chewable tablets lol
Thanks socks I appreciate what you do!
Exactly like my room. LOL Every time I tidy it up, several days later it'll be messy again, and I have no idea how that happen... I only come home after work to sleep or play video games...
For now, I'm blaming my cats who did all that mess... XD
Marie Kondo is such a sweetheart
Marie Kondo's show is like the nicer version of Hoarders.... which Jimmy did to one of his staffers lol
I like her hair it's so sparkling and joyful. Jimmy needs his organized!😄
Jimmy I feel that you do not deserve Marie Kondo's help if you do not even respect her level and ethics of work when it comes to tidying up. Japanese people devote themselves in what they do, passionately and often spiritually too. You missed the whole part of appreciating nature and sentimental things that makes Japanese culture so beautiful.
This is fabulous! I love Kondo's books! Thank you for the before/after glimpse into your office. You rock that Oran Juice Jones Rain tune!
*Why is Marie Kondo*
Thanks for Subscribing Have a nice day! At least her method changed many lives.
where is Marie Kondo?
Kondom
Because conspicuous consumption...
Because she couldn't be a _mansion_ .
I just had a deja vu of seeing this online and being like “this is so stupid” now i see how important it is to be clean. Love marie kondo!!!
I like the interpreter's Glass Skin
Jimmy Kimmel reciting Oran Juice Jones - The Rain has earned him an honorary black card! lol
Remember when Conan uploaded this a couple years ago? Kimmel’s writers have been on a Conan spree again.
I like the constant smile of Marie.
Thumbnail made me think she was holding an enormous... err... marital aide
Express my gratitude to my socks?😂
The Stormy Daniels book lol
