It is disappointing to think that the type and number of snagging problems you are experiencing have become normal for new motorhomes. Manufacturer cost cutting to maintain margins and a skills shortage have resulted in a lot of poorly built vehicles. You are right to highlight these issues so that other people realise they are not alone and will push back on the dealers who, in turn, will need to push back on the manufacturers. Or we will all start buying pre 2010 models because of the superior build quality. Keep up the good work.
I had the same problem. Wife was in the back listening for noises. Use lots of Anti Squeak Tape Anti Rattle Tape Black Felt Tape. That also might help your door. For the oven use bull dog clips. I also just replaced the door speakers and lined the door with CANOPUS Professional Car Sound Deadening Mat and that made a huge difference. Now our van is quiet. 🎉
That reminded me of the old busses I used to drive, everything rattled, especially when empty, and drove you nuts. But, they were 30 odd years old and were abused, for a brand new van it's a joke and that would need to go straight back for a refund in my books.
Friends who have motorhomes all say the same thing - they're very noisy rattly beasts when travelling. They seem to pack everything with tea towels to stop rattles. My caravan is probably just as noisy, but it doesn't matter because we're in a nice car towing the thing.
My lil old Swift has the fly screen secured on a long magnetic strip. No noise at all. As for the bed, i wedge a length of pipe lagging in a gap. Stops the noise completely completely . I appreciate that you still have other issues to solve.
Thanks for being honest 👍 ... Personally I'd look for getting my money back. The noises due to poor internal fitments are really bad but I'd be worried about the cabin pod movement. They cut out the original roof on the cab so you're relying on the pod to give the cab some rigidity back. Given this I wouldn't ignore the glove box lid out of alignment either, get it checked. Best of luck!
My background was working as a Quality Control advisor for an engineering company and in my humble opinion your Motorhome has failed QC at manufacturing level and the supplier has skipped QC before handover! My advise is push for a refund and seek an engineering based legal company to fight your corner as I can see this issue becoming protracted.
My experience as a customer suggests QC isn't really a thing with MH and caravan manufacturers. What they do is use the customer as the PDI agent then repair all the stuff the disgruntled owner finds wrong/broken/loose/leaking. A very different attitude from campervans made by main car manufacturers.
If I bought a new dealer supplied van that soon developed or had obvious build issues My question to the supplying dealer would be " has this van had the P.D.I. that I've paid for and you've been incompetent or have I paid for a P.D.I that's not been done and I've been defrauded
We bought our van two years ago after part exchanging our Vdub. We nearly took it back after two hours it made so much noise. The over inflated tyres didn't help either. We sorted most of our rattles, but we are used to the ones we can't. We didn't have build problems like yours though. At the time the dealer said if you test drive a motor home you wouldn't buy one. In the last two years we have never had even a courtesy call from the dealer as they know most vans are chap. I wouldn't be happy with standard of yours though.
I would be tempted to return it, you will always be listening & waiting for the next problem/noise. Spend time making memories instead of going back & forth to dealer. Good luck 🍀
Some friends of mine have recently bought a motorhome (which may or may not be the same make as yours but looks very similar). They had so many problems including driving back from France at a snail's pace.Eventually it was taken back as my friend said it wasn't fit for purpose (she is a little stick of dynamite!). Up shot, the company admitted it was a prototype and offered them the price they had paid for the motorhome (upside) but they had to find another £13,000 for the replacement. Motorhome manufacturers (and may be caravan manufacturers) need to up their game and realise that people will stop buying them if the quality is not good enough and lets face it, it is not small change. Am personally looking for a caravan but many of your points are still very valid.
Caravans are worse. They leak. Mine has had a roof strip leak. And the bottom valance is poorly designed letting rainwater run onto the under floor which turns into a sponge. Would I buy a motor home or caravan. I would be hard pressed to pay out so much money if I had it for crap. Potential lifestyle could be great. Reality is very different.
Personally I wouldn't touch any motorhome with electric beds,I do like the ones in A class models but they're infamous for making noises. Extra sealing washers might help the shower head issue.
The machine gun sound from your water pump is from a pressure switch that turns the pump on and off. There will be an adjuster wheel somewhere. The reason it is intermittent believe it or not is due to changing atmospheric pressures! So you will probable need to adjust it regularly. We have had the same issue for fourteen years in our Autosleeper. It can also happen when you only turn the tap on half way. Mention it to Marquis and they should be able to show you where the adjuster is. Hope that helps
@@ChrisSloanes get an accumulator fitted resolved my pump noise, I’ve had lots of the same issues as you, Bed rivets fail on the mechanism. Poor drainage probably waste tank vent with kink in it and my one went up inside the fridge gap to outside to take smells away, I cut mine underneath van and now better drainage. No under tray fitted now days bought one fitted my self. My list could go on and as long. As yours !!
We had a Sprinter chassis with Italian coachbuilt (not gonna mention manufacturer) ... chassis was fantastic, the 'Italian' bit was a total disaster especially when it started leaking. Had £8k out-of-warranty bill for leak repairs and water damage. Currently taking a break from campervans ... but next one will be a German conversion on a German chassis/van!
Suppose you never know who builds them anyway. Mobilvetta are “Italian” but are owned and built by Trigano who also own Adria, Karman, auto trail, Benimar and chausson. German chassis I do agree with though, this fiat is a little bit springy let’s say 😂
As someone who has had campers and then motorhomes since 1986, I have to say you will NEVER eliminate all rattles and squeaks like you could perhaps do in a car. Whilst I sympathise with the large number of problems you are experiencing, the fact is that coachbuilt motorhomes are not as rigid as van conversions. The movement of the body, which has to have some flexibility is what generates noises and rattles. My suggestion is to stick to van conversions or I feel you will never be satisfied.
I'm glad I'm not the only one then. Self adhesive foam tape of various widths, rubber door stoppers, window wedges of various thicknesses, teatowels.. keep persevering if you love the motorhome you'll get the rattles and issues minimised.
A friend recently bought a new motor home, on handover assured that all PDI had been completed. He stayed at a site close to the dealership, just to get used to it, well a few things soon popped up. He went back to the dealership to be told that anything that occurred after he drove off the forecourt was a warranty matter. They of course agreed to fix the problems, however they had no slots an available for a month. I do feel this was a bit underhand, the excitement of buying the motor home was dampened somewhat and of course he will need to drive back to the dealership when he should have been in Spain
😅the holes in the door floor are drain holes for wet shoes when you enter the motorhome. They should have tubes on to stop things coming up them. We handed our brand new caravan back after 6 weeks because it pored water in to a point where we had standing water on the floor
Great honest video review We purchased the KY90 version in 2022 which has had number of issues and continues to have, Marquis in Rotherham have been trying the best to sort but this is a manufacturing problem and Mobilvetta seem to pass back to Marquis. Regarding the holes in the floor I also have them in habitation door floor but also under the drivers door as well. I presumed they are to allow any water you bring into the van from shoes to just drain off but not sure . Agree they sound terrible when driving along. However we have had several vans from Bailey previously and again issues with the van , the main problem is manufactures dont seem to put the quality into building the vans like we owners expect. I thought about returning the van but the layout and style we really like so we have decided to keep faith and try to resolve issues over time. Looking on other forums this seems to be very common for all manufactures.
If you have logged your faults within 30 days you can send it back. I spent £140k on a Hymer, I went back to the dealership 5 times with a list of issues and eventually they had it back for 2 weeks to try and resolve them. Last night was my first night away since pick up yesterday, so far so good 🤞🏻
Hi Chris the problem with this type of van is the cab is solid but the rear has no structural integrity, it may appear to be solid but in fact it's constantly wobbling hence way so many parts are coming loose ,as for the other problems that's just extremely bad build quality. Now I'm sure the crafter had its issues but no way near as bad .I'm so glad you haven't sold the volkswagan mate .
I had a car once that had a rattle in the dash the stealer.. sorry dealer suggested turning the radio up. After a quick test drive with the stereo up, he decided it needed sorting 3 days a whole load of padded tape and silicone grease later no more rattles
I would be having a conversation. 2 options, 1 all issues are addressed and resolved. 2 if the above is not done i want my money back. I think thats pretty fair, you are giving them the opportunity to repair.
Mobilvetta are a allegedly a top end manufacturer very pricey, you are right to expect better quality. I too found the Project 2000 bed a problem no matter what we did to prevent the movement. Good luck
Chris, just subscribed to your channel. We know your feelings have bought a Swift Escape 674, new in April and we have had the same experience as you with the build quality, one thing after another. We have now lost confidence in the van. Last week we were back at the dealers for more warranty work repairs. While we were there we officially rejected the motorhome, which you can do within 12 months of purchase. After a stressful day of stating our case and negotiations, we eventually were told to choose a replacement, it wasn't easy, we had to stick to our argument and not budge. I hope you get things resolved with your motorhome. Enjoying your videos. Kev & Tracey.
Caravan manufacturers sadly aren't all known for building sturdy structures! I have had 2 - one brand new and one a couple of years old and neither were faultless. I think more attention should be given to quality control and also road testing them on British roads! The base van usually Fiat Ducato is very good although some recent versions have the dreaded Adblue to reduce emissions and along with DPFs can cause reliability issues.
We had many huge problems with new Hymer, I would never consider wet central heating again! Imagine the drivers seat getting stuck facing the wrong way, and on and on. German vans are not what they once were! Plus a tip, there are no dealerships open in Spain in Jan/feb as they are all in Valencia getting ready for the motorhome show. So take a tool kit.
Ref fly screen, wedge some foam between door and screen. The shower water issue is probably caused by a vacuum being created in the drain pipes, just to prove that slightly open your grey waste tap then run the taps, if the water drains better with tap open, check if there should be a breather hole in grey waste tank. Good luck you have bought a Motorhome 🥴
Put between the window and that rattling thing maybe half way car washing sponge , or half of the sponge that should solve the rattling, I know it's not the best solution but maybe until you come up with something better it gives no noise, You just need to look which way the best of fitting in, hope it helps.
Ouch Chris. I was looking at Mobilvetta back in 2019 when I bought our Malibu. I loved the layout and bling. However after reading articles back then, many people were complaining about the rattles and crashes when driving. So I decided to get a quality VAN conversion rather than a fibreglass box. I still fear that most motorhomes flex way too much when driving over the UK's quality roads and eventually seals will break and water will ingress. I thank you for this fantastic video that should warn people before they make the same mistake as I fear Mobilvetta have not and will not sort these design and production issues anytime soon. :-( My advice is trade it in ASAP while new for a better quality build from say Carthago, Frankia, or Hymer. Germans seem to make more solid motorhomes IMO.
You get what you pay for. I have a Carthago which I have had from new for 7 years and it has been fine. No warranty work required at all. I may by be lucky but I do think the Germans make better motorhome.
Chris, 2015 bought new motor home thinking this would be great. I was never away from the dealer with water issues rattles things falling off, it was a dreadful. Had the van for three years and bought another new one, thinking I must have been unlucky, but no. It was worse water coming in the sky light , three times to fix it, things falling off, squeaks and rattles all over the place. In the end I got rid of it,had only 9000 miles and just 3 years old. Great looking van, but workmanship was dreadful. I would never buy another one. Hope you get it sorted out.
You can fix the shower head problem by adding one or two more washers that should fix that the noise off the rattling is a case of stuffing something in it when you travel to stop all the noise is impossible you have to put up with it that’s the cost of carrying your house in a box on wheels
Chris we bought a Knaus sun ti, been one thing after another, we had the same issue with the shower draining, we keep the back end slightly higher this has helped a lot.
Dropping the insanely high tyre pressures to f 50 and r 55 approx will help take some jarring out of the ride. There are several old threads online where owners of vans have managed to get some tyre manufacturers to provide more balanced pressures relative to load. I run Campscout 6.3m at 3.5t. I've also just moved from awful Michelin to Yokohama at tyres and they provide a much more comfortable ride, almost no more noise despite being at tread.
That ducato on contivan tyres is 79psi according to the manufacturer on full 3500kgs. Be careful lowering them as this can affect warranty and technically be illegal but never heard of anyone being done. Mine should be 71psi and dropping the rear to 65 helped.
Was thinking about your fly screen - our Elddis has a bulge on the habitation door that stops the fly screen coming out - maybe that's something you could add to the door that would keep pressure on the fly screen and stop the noise, if you were to have it fitted back in?
Hi Chris my beds or fly screen don’t rattle like that so they should be able to fix them. But we also have tape on the mirror in the bathroom, I was sick of things falling out. The time it takes me to go back and forth to Marquis I just end up fixing things myself.
Thanks for the heads up for things to look for. I'm about to purchase a motorhome having had a camper van for 12 years. Given me lots of things to look for even before a test drive.
Take it back and get it sorted, some rattles are unavoidable, but yours sound excessive , the incessant noise is making the vehicle dangerous to drive, you wouldn't expect faults in a house not to be rectified, same with you van. Best of luck getting it sorted
I feel for you pal, I really do.We got a Avantgarde 196 brand new in 2022 touch wood not had one issue.Erwin Hymer group German company.Suppose why we went for it.
Caravans and I assume motorhomes have 1" holes(vents) in floor under the odd seat & cabinet. These are quite normal and allow van to breathe. Block them and you will have damp issues and in worst case CO and CO2 buildup when living in it.
Chris the rattles in MH is an issue on most vans TBH. Plenty of padding required! Best van we had was a Hymer. We have just got a second hand Wildax on a Citroen Relay which is great. You have to remember a MH is just a plastic box on the back of a van. PS always travel with the showerhead on the floor
Really hope you get these issued sorted. Some are easily sorted with rubber grommets, wedges or straps but we put up with too much poor quality in this sector.I've avoided buying ex demonstrators when I heard someone in the trade say that demonstrators were selected from production runs which had issue found to avoid them being sent around again.I'd reject it sharpish
My bed sheered off all together when driving. Got it fixed but it still broke, I have since fixed it myself. Not great and also not safe. In all honesty, I wish I handed it in when I could
Maybe I won't help but... Coach built is on a chassis cab, you can not compare to monocoque, though there is still some flex in monocoque. 'Plastic' body on a twisting chassis, flex will occur. The body tolerances will be high due to thermal expansion and normal variability in manufacture. I suspect your rattling bed may be a victim of this. If they made it 'tight', with flex/tolerance, it could stick. Seals will 'relax' over time, but should be tight when new, but flex can/will cause whistles even new. Anything that 'sticks out' will potentially cause windnoise, but speed and variation is the enemy. Sorry, but 40 years of experience in automotive resp. for all of the above helps, plus 4 campers/MH's ownership. If I lived closer, I'd volunteer to look/listen. Told you I wouldn't help :) p.s Mobilvetta is owned by Trigano and I have had two Roller Teams with zero 'quality' issues.
that rattles would do my nut in. It's a difficult one, since you like the van so much. I've rented about 5 vans now, and some were quiet and one in particular was a rattling bugger of a thing. Likely the van we got converted is quiet. good luck with how the fixes go.
Suspect you may be wrong in folk defending the motorhome, in fact most MH owners will confirm what you have found. My friend has had a Rapido A class, had at least 3 of them all brand new. I thought she was a bit too fussy always taking them back for warranty work, sadly my friend died and left her motorhome to us. I now understand that she was not being fussy, wow what a noisy beast. A lot of its to do with build quality, we too had all the same issues with overhead beds moving and hitting the side of the MH, thinking the window was doing to drop out. Everything rattles, plastics creak, you can even hear wires hitting the inner parts. Cupboards opening on their own, worse still screws stripping out and failing hinges. Not pumping water if there was say less than 30litres of water in it, turns out to be the filter there. Squeaky floor at the back where its probably delaminating, i could go on. All this is a MH that now costs well over 100K and yes you are correct, they pass it off as oh that is just what they do, i used to tell people its like taking the kitchen out for a drive. There is a lot you can sort out, theres a lot you may not be able to but i am sure they can get it so you can live with it.
Chris i have a problem with water build up in my shower and sink i find just tapping the palm of my hand a couple of times over the plug hole in the sink and the flat of my foot in the shower allows the water to drain faster i know not the answer but worth a try good luck with getting it shorted
Seems to be common in all coach built motorhomes. I have had many over the years all of which suffered with rattling and various other noises when travelling, usually resulting in taking things to pieces and reconstructing them with sound proofing etc
Mobilvetta, like many other motorhome brands, suffers from flimsy construction across the board. Ordering replacement parts is a hassle. I had a new Benimar Mileo 202, and it’s clear they aren’t built to last. When you had you self build it was solid.
I Had a Chausson Motorhome, from day one I had loads of issues that to this day haven’t been fixed by the dealership. They tried for five years but by rule of thumb it would go in for three months to have the repairs done then I would pick it up and it’s would have new faults plus the existing ones.I have swopped it for a Van conversion, there’s a few issues with the new van but so far not on the same level as the motorhome.I feel your pain and disappointed, if I can offer advise deal with the things you can fix and just enjoy it.
Feel your pain with cooker I’ve just finished a self build with a triplex oven cooker , it made that much noise I rebuilt kitchen using a glass hobb this time problem solved 😂
That’s just shocking Chris , really hope they can sort it out, all the rattles would send me right over the edge 🤦🏼♂️, we are going out this weekend in our brand new camper van , hopefully it’s a good experience, although last night I did find one of the door catches on the cassette door on the side of the van was not catching , and it’s the one with the lock , so is it a case of fingers crossed and that’s all there is , luckily it’s built here in the uk so hopefully parts are easier to come by , btw it’s a new autotrail expedition 68 , if any others read this I would be interested to see how there’s is running. Good luck Chris ,
My goodness I would have a mental breakdown with all that noise, one squeak in my car sends me hunting down the culprit. I guess that’s one advantage of a caravan (although I personally wouldn’t like one) all the rattling would be in the thing your towing and not what you are driving in.
Im the same which is what makes me so stressed when I drive this thing 😂 constantly pulling over trying to stop the noise squeak by squeak 😂 I couldn’t have a caravan either. Not my cup of tea
Chris mate I’m gutted for you. I don’t think I could deal with these issues. If there’s issues now what about in the future when it too fat down the line for the dealer to sort? For the money you’re paying it’s not acceptable. The right van will come for you and Dani. I would reject it/hand it back and carry on with the search. I’m sure Ape adventure vans could do exactly what you want with a top quality build Best of luck however you move forward anyway!
Hi, the holes in the step are there for water to leave the step ? That’s what I was told when I asked why mine had holes in it. I have got a lot of rattles & I am chasing them around every time I go out in mine. As for your mesh door & the beds try putting some fome strips behind them or some Velcro on them till you can get them fixed.
Great video. Spending that kind of money it should be perfect. My MH is 20 years old, cost a fraction of yours and it doesn't rattle anywhere near as much. That can't be right and is NOT acceptable! Good luck in getting all the issues put right.
Appreciate the straight talking Chris - very real compromises when you are in the MoHo world. I guess dragging a caravan you are isolated from the noise; and in the campervan they do screw/bond things to within an inch of their life.
Chris, I would reject the van. Send them the legal letter signed for it as well. They have one chance to fix it then if any of those things are not fixed you can formally reject it. Marquis don't have a good reputation in fixing things. Then if they ignore put a court claim in then they will have to fix or replace as they know legally they are in the wrong.
Good video Chris, is it an Italian thing, great to look at, great design but with the problems you know you’re going to get when you buy one! Not that you should of course!
PDI checks haven't been done properly on m/homes or caravans for years , they would rather you find the problems as its cheaper and less time consuming . Any denial of this can only leave incompetence as the reason .
Hi Chris I feel for you we had same problems with a swift the thing fell to bits in weeks of purchase sent back to dealer 4 times with a list as long as your arm dealer gave up and said needs to go back to factory after a battle with factory the finally collected it from Kent where we worked they had it 8 weeks the agreement was use to collect and go through everything we had listed to be far they went above and beyond they compensated for all the stress and upset it had coursed 5 years on still got it touch wood we have now faults we work for the Camc so we have live in ours we still have rattles but I blame the misses packing.anyway good luck in getting it sorted love the videos Cheers simon (morvich in the highlands)
Chris, I hope you got the very same vehicle you paid for! Cos I would have noticed all these ambulances annoyances during the test drive/s prior to putting deposit down. But I'm sure this video will be helpful to many. Comprehensive review mind!
I feel your pain, but the reality is all motorhomes will rattle, everyone we’ve had at least has, it’s a case of working around the vehicle adding those sticky gel dots to cushion things from rattling, your fly screen is be looking to secure with a strap with poppers, the holes in your step are probably meant to be there for drainage? But I agree it sucks that these vehicles cost the money they do & we have these issues, rattles drive me mad but most people seem to just accept them & of course the manufacturers have no need to improve these things, the rattles from the Thetford cookers are just rubbish, ours rattles just like yours as well as the side hinged oven door, hope you get some of the stuff resolved but I’ve not found a motorhome yet that doesn’t rattle without going around yourself & trying to minimise them yourself.
When you buy a new motorhome and spend all that cash, your priority should be enjoying trips in it. It takes the shine of the excitement of getting to enjoy it. Such a shame.
That’s motorhomes in my experience. Impossible to get them to not rattle and be drifty. Hence why I built my own Campervan. Built with care and not to a stop watch and a balance sheet. Lo and behold, two years in and it’s been perfect. I’m not constantly fixing things. Don’t get me wrong, once on site, motorhomes are better. But for your off grid travelling, it will probably drive you insane!
For the builder to say these faults are normal is just not acceptable, those rattles and road noise would drive me crazy, it’s not normal it’s poor quality fittings and build quality keep at them till all these things are sorted or give it back as not fit for purpose then they realize you are serious.
On the fly screen door use sticky sided draft excluder. Most of the others can also be sorted in the same way for the rest use the good old fashioned tea towel
Shower and sink not draining ...is caused by the gray tank being over full when driven an water getting into the breather pipe. Fix 1 find the breather pipe and blow air into it to clear the blockage, fix 2 put all the plugs in the sinks shower tray drains ( you usually get spares from new) and then open the gray waste as the water drains it will suck air into the breather pipe an clear it , hope that helps. Ps bed slides are usually adjustable to stop the rattle.
7000 miles in our Mobyvetta - no problems really , went round the van sorting all the rattles out , thats kind of turned into a game now - marquis tend to make things worse - they shouldent be allowed to service a wheelbarrow especially Preston Branch - All vans have rattles , we also have a Le Voyager , admittedly far better made but theres still rattles - same oven , same rattles - shower door rattles - there all the same really - Plus Mobyvetta are Italian - need i say more 😂 - great design - dodgy build just like their cars
Every time I watch one of your video’s on that vehicle I cannot stop looking at the wardrobe door and ask “why?” You mentioned it on an earlier video before you bought the Motorhome. Why is the woodwork mat and yet the wardrobe door is gloss? It looks really odd. As though it’s taken from another vehicle. Did you resolve the issue with the dealer/manufacturer?
Hi Chris We have a new supersonic and I’ll tell you somthing that would pull your hair out , when we are driving down the motorway or country roads both our side blinds drop down covering both side mirrors I’m peed off with it , we drove to Morocco so you can imagine how many times they came down , we have to shove towels so they won’t drop as much , paint blistering on bottom of passenger door outside , a draw full of Denny pottery smashed even though cupboard doors lock auto when ignition on it kept opening so we was blaming each other for not closing properly before setting off which wasn’t the case no plates and bowls 2 cups left out of 16 pieces , toilet door handle fell off, three of the leisure battery terminals so loose you could just lift them off , solar panel connection not plugged in , dash storage gets stuck , bonnet kept coming loose due to the cone underneath coming loose I thought it was me not shoving it down properly, had to call in a Mercedes garage low oil on min only done 1500 mile £75 , hab door failing to lock two connections on side need cleaning regular, plus some more minor things , and rattles of course sorted with tea towels
Really? wow im suprised they are beautiful and extremely expensive. Hope you managed to get the stuff sorted. Seems that build quality is not a real thing these days haha.
Yes unfortunately, and I see you had same as me , Vw crafter we had one converted by McLaren and before we bought supersonic I went back to them to see if they would do a high top xxl Mercedes to my spec which they would have but couldn’t get hold of one , we loved the Vw McLaren , wish now we would of waited And good luck having your repairs done Just been watching a fella with a carra swift I think what a disgrace he’s is it would be dumped back at the dealers if it was mine .
I have been watching your new motorhome videos and I'm not shocked at the poor build quality I had similar problems with a touring I had caravan many years ago nothing seems to be made properly anymore even though you like the van it's only going to get worse as it gets older I would send it back and get a refund good luck hope you get it sorted
Thanks for messaging me, it had expired and i thought id changed the expiry date. Saved me a bit of a red face there. ive sorted it now it should work and thanks for letting me know.
I have a 2010 Hymer 594, a beast of a motorhome compared to the junk they throw out today. I bought this for the same price that most people pay for a new motorhome and it was 14 years old and had 45k on the clock. It makes hardly any noise when you drive it, you dont even know it has a fly screen. i had a brand new Dethleffs before this and it got on my nerves quite quickly with the amount of issues it always had, and the fact it had a major fault at the back where the double bed was. When it rained there was a constant dripping noise from the roof onto the rear bumper. It was a dethleffs design fault. 1 year later it was gone and the Hymer was purchased private. No regrets. I hope you manage to sort the issues out. You are lucky your dealer is close by, mine was 2 hrs away.
Return it quick while you're able, its only going to get worse.😅
100%
@@hairywol My Malibu has QC stamps that show the stages of build and passed so some companies do have a sound and followed QC procedure.
Good luck 🍀
Would drive me mental!!
Take it back and get yer money back, it's not worth the hassle.
Thanks for the advice i will do! appreciate it
@@ChrisSloanes get an accumulator fitted resolved my pump noise, I’ve had lots of the same issues as you, Bed rivets fail on the mechanism.
German chassis I do agree with though, this fiat is a little bit springy let’s say 😂
put ptfe tape around the threads on the shower so it tightens at the correct place
A lot mind
It has a washer missing.
Great honest video review
We purchased the KY90 version in 2022 which has had number of issues and continues to have, Marquis in Rotherham have been trying the best to sort but this is a manufacturing problem and Mobilvetta seem to pass back to Marquis.
Chris, I feel for you mate. For your sanity get rid. Get your money back stick to German build🙏
Yep - I agree - I am sure he passed some German engineering as he reversed back into his drive..
German vans are just as bad. Hence the poor two years warranty.
2 options,
1 all issues are addressed and resolved.
The 3 manufacturers you mention are about 50% more expensive than Mobilvetta.
Why should he have to fix anything it’s a brand new van , for the price it should be fit for purpose 😮
For the amount of money they charge, it is shockingly bad quality
The missing under tray is as they are
The two holes in the doorstep are drain holes for water coming off your shoes.....or past the door seal....
You will get it right Chris, keep it and enjoy it once you’ve got it sorted ❤
Hi I think they don’t come with a under tray, I got one off eBay and fitted it my self on my Rollerteam Tline 700
For the screen door, try putting a piece of cardboard in between the door and screen. Or even fold it if it’s needed. This might help a little.
I love that fix - you spend all that money to shove the box of cornflakes you ate for breakfast in the gap.. lol.
In all honesty, I wish I handed it in when I could
Honestly, this is what puts me off motorhomes.
I go nuts if my self build Crafter rattles.
I stepped inside a Benimar at the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon this year and am still genuinley shocked at how paperweight and low quality everything is!
@@fttf all campers are the same.
The grand cali is sniggering in the background “you bought some Tupperware what do you expect “
Go send it back n get in the memory maker!!!!
Good luck Chris ,
Feel for you Chris, we had a similar issue with a elddis motorhome which was a pile of junk !
I’m sure Ape adventure vans could do exactly what you want with a top quality build
Best of luck however you move forward anyway!
My bed sheered off all together when driving. Got it fixed but it still broke, I have since fixed it myself. Not great and also not safe
One plus of used MH, previous owners have fixed alot of noises and faults.
I think I'd have to agree, just take it back, the pain of going into the shop all the time will drive you mad
PDI checks haven't been done properly on m/homes or caravans for years , they would rather you find the problems as its cheaper and less time consuming . Any denial of this can only leave incompetence as the reason .
Hi Chris I feel for you we had same problems with a swift the thing fell to bits in weeks of purchase sent back to dealer 4 times with a list as long as your arm dealer gave up and said needs to go back to factory after a battle with factory the finally collected it from Kent where we worked they had it 8 weeks the agreement was use to collect and go through everything we had listed to be far they went above and beyond they compensated for all the stress and upset it had coursed 5 years on still got it touch wood we have now faults we work for the Camc so we have live in ours we still have rattles but I blame the misses packing.anyway good luck in getting it sorted love the videos
Cheers simon (morvich in the highlands)
The GC600 is beginning to be an amazing vehicle now just not big enough for yous ! Mercedes Hymer looks like the one for you
I was considering buying a Mobilvetta from Marquise last week but your problems have made me think again
Sorry to say, I would have sent that back, sighting not fit for purpose. Hope you are able to get things sorted.
Chris, I hope you got the very same vehicle you paid for! Cos I would have noticed all these ambulances annoyances during the test drive/s prior to putting deposit down. But I'm sure this video will be helpful to many. Comprehensive review mind!
I am so sorry that you are having so many problems which really is unacceptable. I hope you can find some solutions to all of this.
I would sink any more cost into that vehicle Chris. Get Rid ASAP
You’ve had three vids saying about problems with the van. At least it’s giving you content 😬
Well said mate. It's not too much to ask for it to be perfect for you.
Our plug holes were full of white caps and screws.
7000 miles in our Mobyvetta - no problems really , went round the van sorting all the rattles out , thats kind of turned into a game now - marquis tend to make things worse - they shouldent be allowed to service a wheelbarrow especially Preston Branch -
All vans have rattles , we also have a Le Voyager , admittedly far better made but theres still rattles - same oven , same rattles - shower door rattles - there all the same really - Plus Mobyvetta are Italian - need i say more 😂 - great design - dodgy build just like their cars
Every time I watch one of your video’s on that vehicle I cannot stop looking at the wardrobe door and ask “why?”
You mentioned it on an earlier video before you bought the Motorhome. Why is the woodwork mat and yet the wardrobe door is gloss? It looks really odd. As though it’s taken from another vehicle. Did you resolve the issue with the dealer/manufacturer?
Must agree that wardrobe door is bad the gloss finish and the grain going wrong way it would bug me
Hi Chris
We have a new supersonic and I’ll tell you somthing that would pull your hair out , when we are driving down the motorway or country roads both our side blinds drop down covering both side mirrors I’m peed off with it , we drove to Morocco so you can imagine how many times they came down , we have to shove towels so they won’t drop as much , paint blistering on bottom of passenger door outside , a draw full of Denny pottery smashed even though cupboard doors lock auto when ignition on it kept opening so we was blaming each other for not closing properly before setting off which wasn’t the case no plates and bowls 2 cups left out of 16 pieces , toilet door handle fell off, three of the leisure battery terminals so loose you could just lift them off , solar panel connection not plugged in , dash storage gets stuck , bonnet kept coming loose due to the cone underneath coming loose I thought it was me not shoving it down properly, had to call in a Mercedes garage low oil on min only done 1500 mile £75 , hab door failing to lock two connections on side need cleaning regular, plus some more minor things , and rattles of course sorted with tea towels
Really? wow im suprised they are beautiful and extremely expensive. Hope you managed to get the stuff sorted. Seems that build quality is not a real thing these days haha.
Yes unfortunately, and I see you had same as me , Vw crafter we had one converted by McLaren and before we bought supersonic I went back to them to see if they would do a high top xxl Mercedes to my spec which they would have but couldn’t get hold of one
, we loved the Vw McLaren , wish now we would of waited
And good luck having your repairs done
Just been watching a fella with a carra swift I think what a disgrace he’s is it would be dumped back at the dealers if it was mine .
Should of keep the Grand California Swamper 💪
I have been watching your new motorhome videos and I'm not shocked at the poor build quality I had similar problems with a touring I had caravan many years ago nothing seems to be made properly anymore even though you like the van it's only going to get worse as it gets older I would send it back and get a refund good luck hope you get it sorted
Hi Chris
I tried to order the Highland pack of your books with the discount code, only it tells me it's no longer available.
Anything I can do?
Thanks for messaging me, it had expired and i thought id changed the expiry date. Saved me a bit of a red face there. ive sorted it now it should work and thanks for letting me know.
Omg mate that is horrendous I hope you get it sorted.
Wow that is really bad workman ship, hope you get every thing sorted out or get your money back
Are the holes by the door for drainage?
Personally I would I rejected the motorhome and handed it back to the dealer
ITS A DRIP VENT FOR MOISTURE RUNNING THES SEALS -sorry for caps bvut im not retyping =)
