    Please mention the authentic Italian restaurants like mom and pop from Italy. Venice is known for these places also dogs must go to dog park beach ,not any others,also no smoking on the beaches Please

      @@LifeInVeniceFlorida Angelo's hand down! Owned by a family and they are direct from Italy and everything is made in house. It's very small, so make reservations, but they are by far the best italian here! Trattoria Da Mino is my other go to when it comes to Italian food. They make their own cheese. :D
      Also the UTC mall isn't that far away. Though I might be a little jaded having come from an area where the nearest hub of anything was 40 min away normally. (Northeast TN)
      If you're looking for more upscale, not necessarily italian, check out Fin's At Sharky's on the Pier! OMG wonderful food, stunning sunsets, and a menu that changes weekly. They also have wood burning grill/oven for the food they cook.

    General Question, pros and cons, well water and septic vs. city water and sewers. Venice seems to have both.

    • @LifeInVeniceFlorida
      @LifeInVeniceFlorida  2 роки тому

      Yes, well and septic are actually very popular here in FL even in the city (in WI well and septic are popular out in the country and not so much in the city) It really is personal preference - some people like not having to pay a monthly water bill! The water here is pretty harsh so having a water softer is a good idea even if you're on city water ;)

    How far would it be to go to Sarasota for the shopping and dining options ? And what airport would be the closest to Venice. ??

    • @LifeInVeniceFlorida
      @LifeInVeniceFlorida  2 роки тому

      Really depends on what end of Venice you're coming from and what end of Sarasota you're going to, plus traffic, but it could be anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes. Closest airports are smaller ones in Sarasota & Punta Gorda, but there's bigger ones in Fort Myers and Tampa

    • @danielleerickson4610
      @danielleerickson4610 Рік тому +1

      There's an airport in Venice actually, but it's a small private one and therefore the tickets are...way overpriced imo. The closest will be Sarasota, SRQ, and if you're on the Island of Venice it will take roughly 20-30 min driving time to get there depending on traffic obviously.

      Check out the local italian places! There's a few on the island. I also recommend Burgundy Square Cafe if you're looking for something in the heart of downtown. If you love seafood, and want some elegant dining, go to Fins At Sharkey's. It's right on the beach and the sunsets are stunning. It's more upscale, so if you want more family dining feel go to Sharkey's (which is downstairs.) If you like BBQ hands down go to Gold Rush! It's also on the main island, but it's not in downtown. Definitely visit earlier, or make reservations though. They've been around for over 20 years and are very popular!

    • @LifeInVeniceFlorida

      Not every summer and how bad it gets varies from year to year. Last summer was a pretty good one but this year and I think 2 or 3 years ago were pretty bad.

    How far is Venice from Sarasota?

    • @LifeInVeniceFlorida
      @LifeInVeniceFlorida  3 роки тому +1

      Depends on what end of each city you're coming from and going to. About 15 minutes from north Venice to south Sarasota and 35-40 minutes from South Venice to north Sarasota. Add 5-10 minutes in the busier season.
