Mine had the dome preinstalled by the factory and has the external TV, MiMo cellular, and WiFi antennas. I had to purchase the GW1000 router/cellular modem, but it had a small cover plate on the inside with all the wiring accessible from inside (power and antenna leads) of the camper with power pre-wired to a power switch. So I can turn mine off at the regular TV antenna booster switch (2 buttons, 1 TV and 1 Winegard). - All this to say one of your cons is climbing on roof to reset, my reset button is inside my coach on my ceiling. The GW1000 can be installed in the dome or inside the coach under the dome through camper roof. Inside install also adds a WiFi antenna in camper and external WiFi antenna, with really good range. Some newer campers preinstall the Winegard dome for TV antenna and WiFi Cellular router can be added (~$300+).

We stopped proving internet solutions for our renters. We have found that the winegard system wasn’t consistent and became a hassle. We now provide Roku or wife capable devices and leave it up to the renter to figure out how to find Wi-Fi. We also never made our money back on the systems. I have heard from relatives that use Starlink and they seem to love it.
Hi there! Next time you guys are out and about, can you run a internet speed test to see what the upload / download speeds are? I purchased the Wineguard 4LTE for our camper coming in early January with hopes that I can work out of it BUT, unfortunately I need strong internet. I know it will very depending on how far you go out but any stats would be helpful!

Love your videos! We are new to RV life and have a 2022 Thor Sequence with Winegard. I see that you can get a hotspot from your cell carrier. We have unlimited data on our phones and use them as a hotspot to watch Netflix on the TV. Can we connect our phone to the Wingard for better signal?
Yes this has not been a good option long term from us. We did put a att SIM card and it worked for a bit but was way to costly and did not make business sense to provide this as an option.
Yeah we have changed our tune on rv WiFi. We had to become IT guys and help troubleshoot the WiFi and it wasn’t working were there was no service.. it sucked.. no we have not tried Starlink. With 46 RVs now we will have to find something cost effective and that would work very easily. I can’t have drivers fumbling around trying to get things figured out also.. lots to think about
I'm getting a Thor RV that comes with the Connect 2.0 4G LTE... I have Verizon service... I would need to get a SIM and replace what comes with it? I thought I read that the SIM works with AT&T, T mobile and Verizon... That you'd only need to change the SIM if you wanted other than them? Thanks for the video. I have a TIVO Bolt and am hoping when my RV is outside my house the Bolt will be as accessible when it connects to my wifi as if it were in my home. So every time you turn off the coach power it resets everything? It doesn't save settings? Not even the admin password if you change it? That's not good.
OH! I heard it wrong... I now see it comes with only the Winegard SIM, the way it was written it seemed compatible with the other major 3, but it's the Winegard that is compatible with the other 3's SIM cards, not that the SIM installed is multi-compatible. I have 15gb hotspot on my tablet for $20/month, I see the plan for the Winegard on VZ is $80 for 150gb. So it'll only be a 60 difference because I won't need the $20/plan anymore. Anyone use the Winegard hotspot? It's way more expensive but how is the coverage & connectivity compared to the others?
@@geocacherny7030 ours didn’t come with a sim at all, but ATT gave us one for free to activate a hotspot account with. My experience has been that it doesn’t reset every time you power down the unit. I have had to manually reset it a number of times because it’s not recognizing the sim for whatever reason. I haven’t determined if it’s related to the unit or to the sim itself. The system also requires updates on a regular basis and you need to login to check for those, it does not alert you. But usually if I’m having issues, updates will fix the problem.
I use the exact same Winegard on Our new Thor using an AT&T SIM card hotspot and it’s all junk. AT&T coverage is not as good as Verizon and t-mobile. Unlimited data plans are non-existent from the big 3. Better off with a standalone hotspot Mifi device.

How are you two not trying to be negative but AT&T has bad Wi-Fi connection problems and not enough towers
Hi Gardnet Bush we have great att service out where we are at. It seems to be a bit stronger with this Winegard. I had lots of issues with Verizon.

Does this work with Xfinity Mobile?
Good question. If they have a “hotspot” network plan than yes. AT&T has a separate hot spot plan for these and we had to get a different SIM card

Do you actually have an On/Off switch?
There is only one button that is a reset button. The unit itself is hardwired in and upon install there is a switch that turns it off and on.

We do not use this at all anymore. My wife says not on the SIM card

Where do you get the "SIM" card from that you have to install into the unit?
SIM card we got at an AT&T store. Once we got it we activated it adding a separate account for a “rv hotspot”.

Yes this works as a cell signal so if your using an att SIM for example and have great service then this will work great.
