    Your review is spot on. I have not been impressed so far with the Winegard solutions in this area. I'll be looking forward to your follow up and results review. Thumbs up, Lou.

    WiFi for RVers there are a lot of products in the market place.
    And after retiring from my job as an network engineer for over 30 years no one does it better for software than WifiRanger. There hardware is military grade for the Elite AC line and the software makes it all shine .

    We look forward to hearing how your testing goes. We are currently using a weboost drive (the one designed for cars) in our RV right now and it does surpringly well but it does not have any WiFi boosting capabilities. We have a winegard dome for TV up on our roof but we have never used or activated it and thought maybe we would remove and replace it with the Winegard 2.0. We are going to wait and see what you guys think of the 2.0 after you have time to test it out for a bit. Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together it certainly gives us something to think about.

    I had been watching for this, and will be waiting on your report. Although right now, my current arsenal is working fine for our families use, I want to keep up on things in case something that comes up that is a "major advance" and something I can afford! (grin) Thank you Chris & Cherie for keeping me up to date!

      Does this wifi extender mean you set your phone up as a hotspot and this antenna simply boosts your wifi capabilities for your laptop and other items in the RV? Or do you need a seperate data plan?

  • @Nic7320
    @Nic7320 4 роки тому

    Turns out, there is an Ethernet port on the inside of the shell. Also, there's a rubber plug next to the SIM slot that you can pry out to route an Ethernet cable into your RV. The only catch is you need to cut the cable, run it through the hole and seal the hole, and then terminate the cut end with an new RJ45, since the hole isn't big enough to pass the connector through.

    I like this concept and your presentation is one of the best I have viewed. Am very interested to see your testing results of this unit. I have the same concern as jedics (comment below). I am looking to purchase something but still very confused as to which device will give us best connection to WiFi and cellular hotspot. Also, we are in Canada, with limited choice of cell plans. Will this unit work in Canada? Thanks

  • @michaelwaller6093

    Good video - thx. If I understood correctly, you said that i you had a data plan, such as with Verizon, all you needed was another sim card to add to the router and you were good to go without additional fees from he carrier? Sounds too good to be true, but just wanted to make sure I understood correctly.

  • @EAlvarez137
    @EAlvarez137 5 років тому

    You say it boost the Verizon 4g LTE. Is that only with a Verizon sim card inserted and does it only boost the data on our phones or does it also boost the Cell signal for phone calls? Great video by the way. Thanks in advance.

  • @cynthiaroder1590

    We asked our Airstream dealer to install a cell phone booster for us, since we get our internet by using our phones as hotspots. They are recommending installing the Winegard ConnectT 2.0, but from the manual and your review, it sounds like it won't do what we want unless we get an extra sim card from our provider, AT&T, and put it in the antenna. Am I understanding this correctly?

    • @MobileInternetResourceCenter
      @MobileInternetResourceCenter  6 років тому +1

      Correct - to utilize the cellular feature of this unit, you need to supply a data plan specifically for it. If you have Unlimited Plus with AT&T, that's pretty easy to do right now (at least until 5/6).

      Actually you can just buy direct from winegard and get the dataplan and sim already installed through them (not actually that expensive) and just pop this on your roof yourself. Most dealers and resellers are idiots trying to make a lazy buck off useless morons who can't don't know anything.

    Hi guys!! We have a quick question, when we are at RV parks and we are connected to their Wifi sometimes its running pretty good and we can stream a video in low resolution then other times we can not even open a web page or email. Would a Wineguard system like this or other wifi extender keep our connection more consistent or is this something on the campgrounds end of things. It does not seem like there is a pattern of time of day or anything else where more people are logged on, in fact the park we are at right now is almost empty and the speeds and connection is all over the place. Hmm looks like this was not a quick question sorry:( lol

      Hi guys.. as MIAs, we welcome your questions in the member forums where we can go in more depth. Here's our full guide to using public Wi-Fi hotspots to get you started: www.rvmobileinternet.com/wifi
      The answer is : maybe? Hard to say unless you test at a specific location. When your connection slows down, take your laptop/device up closer to the access point. If it improves, then that's the experience that gear like this can help with. If it's on the campground side however, this gear just helps you bring crappy internet back to your RV.
