Gone Away isn't even their song. It's a cover of the song by The Offspring and was initially written for a close friend of the band. FFDP just made a music video making it about vets. Both are amazing songs but I still prefer the original
I lost both my dad and little brother to suicide. This song brings back so many emotions, and helps to see the other side of the issue. So many times people make a choice to end their life. And those of us left behind don't always understand why or what caused them to make that decision. No matter how mad you might be with someone, ALWAYS let them know how you feel about them. It may be your last chance. And it might just save their life.

This video touches me so much because there is many messages in here that I relate to. I have never tried to commit suicide but there has been times more than ever especially now that I have seriously considered it. I even drink behind my dad's back and get drunk in front of my online friends. He's never at home when I drink either. Anyway thank you both for reacting to this song.
I hope it's not too late; I feel for you a bit. I have autism, and having epilepsy for 20 years, then brain surgery to stop the seizures left me trashed. I can go from being distant and not really feeling anything to easily slipping over the edge and crying without much meaning. That last message always gets me. Today's my 50th birthday.... I'm sitting here depressed and drinking. I always love your reaction videos especially when Rich shocks Kel with another classic... Frampton was my favorite!! But tonight I can relate to this song. My father committed suicide when I was 17.... 33 years later I'm still hurting and angry about that day... I help people every time possible to hide the pain... But it never really goes away@we'rewithyou
#wearewithyou Shout out to Lisa for being a survivor and to Rich and Kelli for your big hearts and pure souls. I know nothing about mental illness but can only imagine the helplessness people who suffer must feel. My prayers are with all those that suffer. I hope you find your rainbow!!
Thank you so much @David Diehl. This means so much to us to hear such kind and thoughtful feedback from what we are doing. We are very excited to expand our reach and content on the Patreon Platform where so much more can happen! Talk soon!!!! Rich
I’ve listened to theses guys for the last 10 yrs along with Godsmack and the help me thru a lot but dam I don’t remember this video like this THIS GUYS ARE THE SHIT!!!! And that’s y they put 2 albums out every yr. from Louisiana love u guys to Stephen
I haven't watched the rest of the video yet, but I was told from a loved one who has a history of mental illness that it's worse than prison. In prison, you know when you are getting out. In a mental ward in a hospital, you get out when a doctor decides that you are "better".
I can relate to this video, losses and mental illness I was diagnosed with schizophrenia when I was young but I've dealt with those thoughts and actions against myself too. Know that anyone who is struggling you are loved and you'll never be alone.
Thank you for spreading Awareness. I am a Veteran. I have mental health issues, Bi-polar, Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD from childhood and military. I've been suicidal and homeless. I'm 46, retired and a proud grandfather. I still live with my issues, luckily I have a great support system now. They know the signs of my weaknesses because I educated them, that is the key to my success. Thank you and keep up the GREAT work. It means more than you'll ever know to us.
I don't know why but UA-cam won't let me give you a thumbs-up on this video but I love Five Finger Death Punch they are the greatest band of all time they get to the point they sing about things going wrong in society today like wars in suicide and whatever and whatnot wash it all away is another good song I love your guys to show you guys are doing a great job keep up the good work and I am with you
I'm friends with their guitarist Jason and meet them all. They are the nicest people. They went out of their way to show my daughter all around the stage and took her out on stage during one of their songs. It's a memory that will last forever. I've been around since metal stated and back then it's was started as a place where being different and unique was accepted. Everyone was welcome. Now it's full of all these sub genres and they all think they are the best. It's crazy! There is no best it's what speaks to you and how you're feeling. Some makes you hype, some makes you cry and some makes you think. So please don't shit on someone who gets something out of it that you don't. All music has purpose and means something to someone. #wearewithyou
i lve you guys! i deal with alot of depression from ptsd and i always feel like you guys are sitting in the room with me. its a great break from reality
It’s really true what the video says at the end, one friend can save a life. I’ve found myself being that friend more times than I can count. I don’t know how but I keep being approached by people who confide in me that they feel suicidal. At least ten times it’s happened. Friends, family, total strangers. I’ll always be there for someone who needs help. So if you’re someone who feels that way I just wanna say... I love you, and there are others who do too. For their sake and for yours, please don’t go through with what you’re thinking of, that’s never the answer. You are loved, if you believe nothing else believe that, you ARE loved and you’re stronger than you know.
I absolutely love you guys!! Your channel is pure, real and raw. Keep up the amazing work!!! Coming from a man who is also dealing with unimaginable anxiety and depression!! And to all the others on this comment section, your not alone and there's always help, there's always that one friend.
Been bingeing on the reactions. #WeAreWithYou As a vet I regularly do buddy checks to make sure no more of my friends are missing. I super appreciate what you guys are doing. Much love and blessings.
I absolutely love 5 finger. They are amazing musically and lyrically. I just came across your channel and I love your approach to their music as people seem to look past the lyrics. Love from Ireland.
#wearewithyou Kel and rich, thanks for the shout out, I'm a Desert Storm vet, been diagnosed with PTSD severe depression sheepdog syndrome and battle mind trama, I've been through 15 surgeries, was in a coma for 3 months and have accualy been pronounced dead three different times. These daily battles have taken there tole over the years, I take morphine hydrocodone and I also get a Ketamin Infusion twice every 3 weeks, all that just to dull the pain. I'm not looking for sympathy, I knew going in that things (war) was no picnic, I consider myself to be a person of strong will, but this pain is RELENTLESS, it never stops, I've considered taking my own life many times. Thanks again for your support, with all that being said, I HEAR YOU.
I would like to thank you for this. God knows it means so much to me and so many others. Ffdp, I believe is an amazing band, not just for great music. Instrumentaly or lyrically. But for the real message they can deliver to those who watch, listen or both. Keep up the great work.

Thank you guys. I am just seeing this video. I have been in a state mental facility for the last year. After 35 years in the Army and my son getting killed by an IED in Afghanistan just 3 weeks after I retired the demons got to be to much and I tried to kill myself. Police were called by my daughter and a combat veteran officer talked to me and I gave him my pistol. I was lucky to have a psychiatrist who is a veteran. I'm home and doing much better. I really missed you guys.
The struggle is very real. Im glad that FFDP music is all about awareness for many things. Its even better that reactionists are spreading the videos and helping them get their message out ^_^
Man I love to see ppl react this way to a great band like ffdp. This band is my number favorite band more because of all the different positive messages they try to out and all the different organizations and charities they support. I saw this band back in August live in Toronto and the show they put on was amazing. Ivan moody has a great voice and Jason hook is an amazing lead guitarist.
I joined the US ARMY when I was 19 to escape a dark, abusive, stress-strewn, childhood home. My reasons; admittedly weren't the best, but I did it to end my life since I was unable to bring myself to do it on my own- not the most pleasant thought, but it is what it is. When first deployed I took risks and gambles that were simply passed off as "he's just gung ho," doing my best to mitigate any injury to my section-mates. I attempted to do just that and the resulting situation wasn't pretty- but it taught me far more in 0.3 seconds than the previous 19+ years had about myself. After a few more hits to the head (some metaphorical), I found that I could be more productive if I simply helped those that I could- instead of selfishly pushing for my own self destruction. I have been a civvy for more than twelve years now, doing whatever I can to help a fellow vet or their family. Due to my childhood and military baggage I only sleep an average of 15-18 minutes a day and have a number of darker anniversaries that can make life ugly for weeks at a time, but it doesn't matter. I do it to spare folks who couldn't or shouldn't have to see or endure the things I and countless others have. I want to leave this place just a little better than it was when I first got here. I apologize for the vagaries but it's just less painful to explain to folks than the alternative. That said, I have an odd suggestion for a song- if I may? This Means War by Avenged Sevenfold. ua-cam.com/video/Jgk3u44W2i4/v-deo.html While not technically an uplifting tune, it describes the mental conflict that many survivors face when they get to walk away from a tragedy- injured, damaged, but not broken...simply mending and healing over a long, long stretch of time. Thanks for the raw and genuine content, have a good one. #WeAreWithYou #PainInTheAsk
#WeAreWithYou OMG, I just came across this, and I cried through the whole video. I relate to this so much. To all of you going through so many things like this please remember you matter. FFDP rocks!
This us such a sad story, good christians who preach understanding and love proove their worth by destroying their own child, a travesty, loving metal and beinging an indvidual is not the devil, ripping them appart for being themselves is, thank you Lisa for sharing your story, you are a beautiful person and deserve love, and even though i have never met, may never be able to hug you or kiss you, I LOVE YOU❤ ALWAYS BE YOURSELF❤❤❤
I know that FFDP did a cover of the song, but I would like to see a reaction to The Offspring - Gone Away. I know they aren't technically metal either, but I think it would be a great song to react to. It's probably one of the darker songs that gets airplay on channels that I might listen to.
FFVision, I know that cover. FFDP's version is about group of long time buddies witnessed a tragedy on TV, and they decided to join in the Army. During one of the mission, their vehicle of the Caravan hit an IED and exploded killing all but one buddy. He went home after being discharged facing survivor guilt - drinking and thinking about committing suicide. Then he went back to re enlist into Army as a commander to new recruits...…..like Wrong Side of Heaven - FFDP focus on the plight of our veterans - homelessness & suicides.
Hi I know I am late to the scene here but this song hits a chord with me because I have self harmed in the past seeing your reaction brings me to tears btw I'm from the U.S. (new York State to be specific
Hey guys, greetings from England. love what your doing , dont have a hashtag but watch on here. I went through exactly what happened in this video at the same time as i was looking after my dying father. I was 14 at the time. Im now 58 and have lived with one of the most painful conditions there is which i push through every day. I'm s a daiily battle and i win most days. You guys take care and anybody else out there thats in pain your not alone. If you need to hit me up im aalways prepared to talk about anything
from nothern BC canada im native there are a lot of young natives here in canada who live on a rez in the north. they hear / see whats going on in the rest of the world, but their locked in to their communities, so they sniff gas to get high, then alot do commit suicide its sad, and its been going on for yrs. prayers to them all , thank fer gettin the word out there
This video is a masterpiece for kids to see right now and the perfect example why it is so very important to check up on the people in your life that you love and look for the signs like this kid giving his things away. Check on your loved ones and let them know that your there and you have all the time there is to listen to them and for God's sake, look past the COVID-19 thing about "social distancing" and wrap your arms around them and tell them that you love em.
I appreciate FFDP for putting out music that speaks to many difficult issues and topics that are hard to acknowledge. At the end of the day, their messages are sound. HELP YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS!! BE COMPASSIONATE AND EMPATHETIC!!!! Thank you guys for posting this. I’d love to see your take on “When seasons change”. Thank you again
As someone who dealt with depression for a while. When I was overseas for the first time being away from my family for the holidays and celebrations. I felt alone but I remember my battle buddies. Just bursting into the barracks room and grabbing me then saying. “Hey the platoon is having a barbecue for Christmas. Let’s go eat and drink man.” I’m very thankful for my brothers who helped me through the pain and loneliness.
This is one of the reasons that FFDP is so good...they always touch on subjects that most shy away from. And there meanings have so much depth to them! Glad to see you guys getting into them!
We are all one, strength to those who are put doing for being themselves, i will help you spread the word, ❤to you Rich and Kel, you are truely beautiful
Thank you guys a very strong strong song, with a very important message. Don't be blind, then you see your child is suffer. Take it in your arms or talk to him. And the words in the end "one friend can save a life ". Are so true. Have a nice day ^^
You two must be the cutest couple ever. Been watching you for a long time. I'm from Turkey and watching this made me remember my period of 5 attempted but fortunately failed suicide. I must tell you that I really find comfort in your videos. So big thanks from the other part of the world. As a disabled veteran I really appriciate you react to 5FDP - Gone away (official video). Warning, it will be gut puncher but that covers what I felt after I lost my two comrades to a ambush while we were patrolling the mountains. It was hard to cope with survives guilt, the comrades i lost as just behind me and we blown up because i stepped on a mine, resulting the deaths of my friends and my left leg. I tried overdose, hanging myself. I'm not ashamed to share this, nor I'm not trying to be a special snowflake. Just wanted to share this with you guys. I will be more than honored if you read my comment and react to the video i suggest. Metal horns and love from here. Stay cute as always you have been. #wearewithyou PS: Sorry for the edited comment my typos. I just got shaken a bit.
#wearewithyou Australia I dealt with suicide and shit because family and people in school and still to this day get picked on about my artwork and my guitar playing but a few close people keep me going and the one song that stopped me from my third attempt years ago was #bulletformyvalentinewakingthedemon would be awesome to see you guys react to it I was in a dark place I don't want to go into detail but it involved some horrible thing but that song made me stop and I looked at what I was doing and went wtf am I doing and left my house that night to go see a friend for a few hours and I after that started using my experience from those dark times to help others ive even had people say my bad and decent guitar playing made them want to play and others said my artwork saved their life and made them want to be an artist thankyou guys so much for creating such a welcoming loving channel been apart of this for a while now you are both beautiful people love from Australia
Hard Stuff.I knew these feelings more than you can imagine (some scenes were like a visual of my life) ....but i survived it.Music was my cure/straw which saved me...today i help Others to survive the daily struggle.A frend can save a life?Definatly.I saved more than one yet....
Alot of the issues addressed in this video are commonplace in society but we look the other way because confronting them is either hard or uncomfortable and many times people suffer for our inability or unwillingness.
#WeAreWithYou #painintheask I love this song and many others by FFDP. Some of them have helped me through tough times. There are 3 Savatage songs that have really helped me when I feel depressed . If I Go Away, helps me to think of what would things be like if I were not here anymore. How it would effect others. The other two that touch me and help me to deal with the past are Man in the Mirror and Handful of Rain. Metal music has helped me make it through depression in my teen age years and helps me to stay focused on what is important, now that I am much older. Thanks for doing these reaction videos, it is great to see how you experiance the power of this music. Keep it up.
You both looked distinctly uncomfortable while watching this, which is excellent. Watching this video with a straight face is impossible if you possess a shred of empathy or compassion. This is my first vid but the lady's (Kel?) reaction to the gunshot was so honest. Love the reaction.
I really love your channel and your reactions. I know you guys love guitar work. You need to check out an all female rock /metal Japanese group by the name of Band-Maid for your first listen I would suggest Dice and their incredible live too. Keep up the great job.

Love this reaction and an extremely powerful song. Remember Everything is another good one.
Your reaction videos are the purest and most real. Your reviews and comments are from.the heart. And your love for each other is one of a kind
Thank you so much @David Diehl. This means so much to us to hear such kind and thoughtful feedback from what we are doing. We are very excited to expand our reach and content on the Patreon Platform where so much more can happen! Talk soon!!!! Rich

Thank you...I"m from poland!!! all the best to you
I’ve listened to theses guys for the last 10 yrs along with Godsmack and the help me thru a lot but dam I don’t remember this video like this THIS GUYS ARE THE SHIT!!!!
You were chosen to be the spark to others light. Thank you for being a helping hand.
Hi Joseph! We really appreciate your inspiring words. Much love to you from South Florida. Thank you for really being here with us.

Hey Kel N Rich. I just found you channel and subscribed, Both of you (and your supporters) are doing great work! I'm a mental health therapist/counselor in a non-traditional (alternative education) high school and private practice. Been in the business 30+ years working with teen, ex-con, health professionals...... I want to say thank you for taking the risk and handling such heart-wrenching, difficult, beautiful, life things with such grace and honor and understanding and caring!! Please, please, please!!!! with mad respect to you both-- Be sure to take care of yourselves ...each other. These emotionally charged topics have a cost to the heart, a burden to the soul of those who care. Selfishly, I love watching you laugh together. :-) Peace and Prayer to you. when you guys specifically said Canada, then ALBERTA!!!!! i was shook. i live in Red Deer alberta and this is the first time i ever felt a youtuber speak directly to me. thank you i needed this. i've been in a "bad mindset" for the last few months and suicide and such was on my mind more than i like to admit. so again THANK YOU!!!!!
Its even better that reactionists are spreading the videos and helping them get their message out ^_^
Great videos i love them all

This Means War by Avenged Sevenfold.
ua-cam.com/video/Jgk3u44W2i4/v-deo.html
While not technically an uplifting tune, it describes the mental conflict that many survivors face when they get to walk away from a tragedy- injured, damaged, but not broken...simply mending and healing over a long, long stretch of time. Thanks for the raw and genuine content, have a good one.

FFDP version of gone away is IMO is better than the original.
@@papasmurf292 You are entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong. J/K
#wearewithyou I live in kentucky, and this band has brought me through a lot. Thank you guys for your reaction.
Best reaction i've seen on this video keep it real bro.

Hey guys, greetings from England. love what your doing , dont have a hashtag but watch on here. I went through exactly what happened in this video at the same time as i was looking after my dying father. I was 14 at the time. Im now 58 and have lived with one of the most painful conditions there is which i push through every day. I'm s a daiily battle and i win most days.

from nothern BC canada im native there are a lot of young natives here in canada who live on a rez in the north. they hear / see whats going on in the rest of the world, but their locked in to their communities, so they sniff gas to get high, then alot do commit suicide its sad, and its been going on for yrs. prayers to them all , thank fer gettin the word out there
This video is a masterpiece for kids to see right now and the perfect example why it is so very important to check up on the people in your life that you love and look for the signs like this kid giving his things away. Check on your loved ones and let them know that your there and you have all the time there is to listen to them and for God's sake, look past the COVID-19 thing about "social distancing" and wrap your arms around them and tell them that you love em.
Love you two!
My English is bad, i'm russian, but reaction your wife is awesome! I crying with she!! Thanks for that reaction of this video! Спасибо 💪
I appreciate FFDP for putting out music that speaks to many difficult issues and topics that are hard to acknowledge. At the end of the day, their messages are sound. HELP YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS!! Another great reaction 👍🏻👍🏻
This song hit me everytime and the moment she start to cry makes me so emotional 😞
Awesome reaction!
I saw FFDP in concert and they were amazing.
Nice job, keep it up. Great band! Take care.
This is one of the reasons that FFDP is so good...they always touch on subjects that most shy away from. And there meanings have so much depth to them! Glad to see you guys getting into them!
Always with you, FFDP LOVE

Keep it up.
5FDP has a lot of powerful songs i just got tickets for the july show i would love to see your reaction to the bleeding
You both looked distinctly uncomfortable while watching this, which is excellent. Watching this video with a straight face is impossible if you possess a shred of empathy or compassion. This is my first vid but the lady's (Kel?) reaction to the gunshot was so honest. Love the reaction.
Disturbed song infection helped me deal with a medical condition i have and when im feeling down thats a song i listen to..
I really love your channel and your reactions. I know you guys love guitar work. You need to check out an all female rock /metal Japanese group by the name of Band-Maid for your first listen I would suggest Dice and their incredible live too. Keep up the great job.
