  • This isn't a really comprehensive video listing every last thing I do when I'm restoring a Rhodes; it's sort of just an overview of some of the stuff that I think is important but overlooked. Like yeah we all know you've gotta tune it, voice it, make sure the sustain pedal works -- blah, blah, blah. But what opamps are you using in your preamp? You ever think of that, funny guy? Yeah, maybe not. Maybe someone oughta tap you on the shoulder and say, "Hey, how about some TL072s?" Well, this video is me tapping you on that shoulder and saying that. Seriously: listen to how good that sounds at the end.

Definitely. A lot of repairs aren’t that hard if you just open it up and think about it. Give it a try sometime and if you have questions lots of folks like me will be happy to help.

They really are wonderful things. You can tell a lot of care and intelligence went into making them.

I salvaged an old Rhodes 212 super satellite, amp was toast and could not be saved due to the amount of corrosion, so I put a couple jbl 125s in it for guitar cab.

@@superuser13 sick. And yeah tbh those amps are kinda testy. They do sound good with some work though. But that’s a really fun idea for using it!

I’m sorry. I’m not very good at making videos. I just keep going because I enjoy the process. Thank you for your feedback.

@@folpon I enjoy the video, but it absolutely sounds like you're at the tail end of a large meal, just casually polishing off the last course, lol.
Also, points for gracious response to a fairly aggro comment.
