My daughter and I made a king sized headboard using a leftover half sheet of half inch plywood, some leftover quilt batting, a recycled foam from a twin size cot and a king size comforter which was enough to cover the front and back of the headboard. Great video.
Chris Chrisopherson what are you actually supporting? The negativity or the fact that she doesn't have the right to defend the demographic if that's what she was in fact doing? Because at the end of the day all she said was negative comments are unnecessary
Queen OfNY I’m not miserable. I’m a viewer with opinions. So sick of fan girl illiterates with an IQ of a wombat slinging out “you just jealous” or “you just hate your life” whenever non-bashing criticism is lobbed at someone who posts a blog or vlog. The caption read as a tutorial - not tutorial and a day in my life rundown. A little intro is expected but not half the video. If she can’t handle the criticism, she should post to just her friends on FB. Then you could “friend” her and your universe feel complete.
If you dont have a stapler you could just attach the fabric to the board with upholstery tacks and a hammer. If you have enough material left over cut a piece for the back of the board to so its completely covered that way nobody knows what its made from and makes for a neater finish.
Thanks for being real enough to show the back. It does help to see that part, too! This transformation was stunning. I'm sure the homeowner was ecstatic. Great work!
love this so easy...thanks for sharing this Love....i was trying to figure out how to make headboards for kids for cheap to give away...most low income families dont have them for their children...thank you so much Love again
Very lovely! You sound like a wonderful, giving person. The world would be a better place if we had more people like you. Thankyou so much for your tutorial. God bless you greatly🙏🏼✝
LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of having those headboards vertically. Cuts the budget for buying a painting or mirror or whatever on top if it's horizontal.. Super thanks for the idea.... :-)
Awesome! She was making a video on "How To" not doing a speech class! Great video. I am grateful to people like you, who put themselves out there to show others what we can do to brighten our homes on a small budget. Don't stop, you are a blessing!
Great...I have foam, an old comforter (it cute) & wire & a wall hook! Thanks for sharing...I have envisioned my new headboard & I think Im gonna add a faux leather textured trim to it...EXCITING!!!
Kisha Wilson Ooh I love what you want to do with it. Once it's completed I would love to see the finished product. Btw, Check out my blog for more diy @ AprilDenise.blogspot.com. Hello April, I truly appreciate your video. I am beginning several DIY projects at home and I have almost completed a guest bedroom. I saw a headboard that cost well over $300. With the help of your video I should save $250. I can wait to show you.
gesax1 Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad I was able to help inspire your. Don't for to show me completed project. I would love to see it. Thanks for the idea. I think what you are doing for the shelters in Atlanta is awesome. I don't know if you've worked with PADV but they help so many abused women and children. But as I'm sure you know their locations are never disclosed and under signed contract with legal ramifications. Thanks for the idea. I need a cheap headboard for and extra room and this is perfect.
You just saved me from traveling 60-70 miles (round trip) for foam from the closest craft store (Joann’s). I don’t know why I didn’t think to use a foAm mattress topper. Thank you!

Thanks loved the video. Going to make one myself. The video is a great help. Wonderful to hear about the volunteer work you do for the Shelter. Well done!
Love this idea so much, I have been trying to come up with a headboard idea for both my husband and my room as well as my daughter's room, this is so versatile, I could easily make a larger one for our room and a smaller one for hers with maybe some whimsical fabric! thank you so much for the idea and i think what you are doing to help others is amazing. :) i'm guessing you wanted to kick yourself a few times on forgetting the staple gun i can't imagine how much patience you must have had with the glue!
I seen a video on the French Cleats. Now I know what they look like and how to use them, thanks to you. GOD bless and may you and yours have a safe and happy New Year.
wow thanks, i just brought a bedroom set that I do not like. its a platform wood bed, i wanted a leather headboard, so now i know what to do instead of selling the whole set lol! Besides now it will be unique also. THANKS!!!!!
+Kisha Lray guys i am learning best woodworking techniques at *TopFineWoodworking .Com* all you guys should also try it =================================================
Yes @Tr3sC89 you can place it horizontally! A queen size bed is typically 60 inches wide or 5 feet so you would want your board to be at least that length. But you can also make it longer too!! You can use the simple screw method or make a cleat. For this headboard I used 4 screws (2 in each panel). I placed them in the middle of the panel evenly apart from each other. Hope this helps!
some people are aholes! if its too long for you thats why theres a fast forward option. I loved this video cheap, quick and she gives alot of slow info that the other vids ive seen dont give.👿 love u girrrl your vids are great.
Loved the tutorial....Could I do the same placing the headboard horizontally? If so how would I mount it and for a queen size bed how long would the plywood have to be? Thanks...
LOVED IT THE COLORS CHOSEN TIED IN PERFECTLY WITH THE HEADBOARD YOU HAVE GREAT TASTE! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING US HOW TO DO AN UPHOLSTERED HEADBOARD, QUESTION CAN YOU USE A WOOD HEADBOARD YOU ALREADY OWN OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE THE PLY WOOD?
Liz Gibson Sorry for the late response. If you're doing the tufted options you can just drill it directly into the wall where the tufts would be and glue your button on top of it. Or you can mount it like you would a big picture. If you have a local craft store in your area visit it to see if they have something like that in the picture framing area. Make sure if you use those to get one that can take the weight of your headboard. Or you can buy a french cleat which I usually purchased from Lowe's or Home Depot! Hope this helps. Thanks again for stopping by! Ooh Check out my blog for more diy @ AprilDenise.blogspot.com. I also have other tutorials on youtube as well. Thanks for watching and supporting!

I wish I could see it
Now this is what I'm talking bout ...not these Ikea 65.00 crap ..thank you for the video love how the room came out at thee end very nice
thank you for your tutorial. The negative comments are unnecessary. If it's too long, fast forward or move on. some people are miserable.
wonder what you're actually defending... a video or a demographic

Your charitable giving is amazing! I didn't even watch the video yet!
