    I use to work in a super market bakery and the bread is just like the home made stuff but it’s put in a bag and put aside so the crust will become soft. So the bread in the stores are actually a day old

    • @aprilmifflin2011

      @@JonnesTT not when it’s put in a plastic bag. If the bread is left out in the air it will dry out and become hard. places like Paris and Italy they don’t use plastic bags they will put it in a paper bag or leave it out on a shelf for everyone to purchase. So people want it fresh but in America and places like that they put the bread in a plastic bag to be put on the shelf and by doing so it causes the crust to become soft.

    Seeing that your dad's actually kind of older, I can empathize due to having had a bad tooth or two in my head, the bread might be wonderful but if you got to chew it for any length of time when you got s*** teeth, it goes from an amazing savory experience to a workout. I've eaten breads that I truly enjoyed the taste of but I could only take a few bites before I really just felt awful because my face hurt. You should look up Japanese breads and recipes to see if you can come up with an ultimate soft bread for him.

    • @c471
      @c471 2 роки тому +19

      I have always had a hard time chewing for sustained periods of time. So the soft breads are my favorite too. I do enjoy a slice of French bread as long as the crust isn't too tough. Sourdough is delicious but I can't chew more than 1-2 slices.

    I’ve made a few of your recipes these days and I made this today. It was quite hot today so the dough rose quickly. I used mixed dried herbs because I didn’t have dried thyme alone. The bread has a wonderful crust, the scored part more thin and crispy than the sourdough I’ve made and the inside really is so squishy and soft! Excited to taste it tomorrow!
    Edit: It’s very soft and moist, the air bubble structure is a little larger than supermarket bread but it’s still great! Personally I prefer the sourdough I made (not risen too well but I prefer chewy things) while my dad said he liked this bread better too. 😅 The olive oil gives it a bit of a buttery taste for me, and there’s a nice light sweetness. 😋 Thank you for this recipe!!!! ❤

    I do really like store bought bread- the really soft pillowy sandwich breads, especially milk breads or brioche. I never understood the appeal of stiffer artisan breads. Although after making my own loaves recently, harder breads have grown on me! I definitely prefer them most the first day when the insides are the softest.

    • @snowbird6855

      Look at the ingredients in store bought. And there's a ton of gluten (they add extra) which makes it pillowy.. and brutal on your microbiome. Then there's the preservatives and glyphosate..

    There is a chinese bread method for extremely soft and fluffy bread. Its called tangzhou method where you gelatinize some of the flour which changes the gluten structure. It's a very fullproof method for soft bread. Also kneading the dough less or letting the bread proof to the point of it almost being overproofed helps with tenderness also
