Understatement. Glad there are some others that recognize the writing, performing, recording & mixing mastery that went into this album. Even if you're not a fan you can't dismiss the absolute quality of Siamese Dream. Thanks SP & BIG thanks to Butch Vig!
My late sister Katie was at this show, shortly after she found out she was pregnant. One of the biggest smashing pumpkins fans ever. I miss her every day.
I got goosebumps when He said James Iha... now i got a whole nother level of goosebumps when they started playing mayonaise... DANG! Life is beautiful!
People don't understand that James wrote some of the Pumpkins most memorable riffs. His solo album is full of beautiful guitar work. It's not the most technically complex but it's got raw emotion and soul. Without James to balance out Billy's more depressing and dreary tendencies, the Pumpkins came to sound more or less like any other band. James being part of the peak of the band is not a coincidence
God.... my entire junior high existence just unraveled tonight on the tips of Ihas's fingers and the melody drifting smoothly from Billy's lip's. I'm 37 now and those years have still yet to be topped!
Me and my wife fell in love to Siamese dream and Billy. I learned as meany pumpkins songs as I could till life got in the way and took over. Years passed, a child came, and now she is showing an appreciation of the music and guitar. I'm re-learning the old pumpkin songs to teach her. Me and the wife are still together 25 years later!
It's a long long boring story. But when I saw that Billy and James could get back to being friends it just made everything that looked so hopeless seems little more possible.... They where one of the coolest bands I've ever know, from the first album in the grunge days to the silver rain of the end of the century, they always had a positive outlook on life, no matter how melancholic it might have sounded....
hillglider I'm sorry guys, but this reply thread was the VERY first time a human being ACTED LIKE A HUMAN BEING ON UA-cam... ACTUALLY asked what was going on rather than troll
This is my favorite pumpkins song. It's crazy how James balances Billy's energy so perfectly. They really are like yin and yang. I don't consider anything pumpkins unless James is involved.
The video I literally just watched before this was James saying he hadn't talked to Billy in over a decade. The next video was this one! And I had no idea this had happened.
Me too. Instantly transported back in time to where I was when this song came out. LIfe was good and I would sing Mayonaise to the top of my lungs. Cathartic.
Mayonnaise will always remind me of my father.... Sorry I couldn't have been enough for you. I hope you are at peace with Jesus now.. I love you dad...
You were more than enough Josh...sometimes as men were more broken inside than anyone knows...he' still with you..live your dreams and have him smiling down at you.
Hoping this (and the precious shows with Iha) leads to some sort of studio reunion with these guys! Was a huge fan of them before they split, and the more recent tracks just haven't quite been the same. I know Corgan plays most of the guitars and bass on the albums, but still... something about the combination of Corgan, Iha, and Chamberlain is magic.
I hope so too, the new smashing pumpkins just isn't the same, they are just lacking the energy and connection . James played great rhythm guitar and is just a great guitar player period. It's sad how his skills were never really show cases much.
Holy Shit!?! James Iha! I hope he and Jimmy reconcile with good ole' Billy. It would be great to have the Pumpkins back. the REAL Smashing Pumpkins (and yes, I know Corgan was a control freak in the studio but, he needed them and his pumpkuns 2.0 really does suck ass).
Hey Everlasting Gaze mate, please can you 'remaster' Age of Innocence, like yer did with White Spyder and With Every Light? 'Tis mon favori Pumpkins songs so if I heard the song in the best way possible, it would complete me.
Oh my god. I knew they reconciled but I didn’t know there was a specific public moment in time like this. What a special moment. Billy did well containing his excitement here for such an event. Those audience members , especially the true pumpkin fans, were so lucky to see this.
I keep coming back to this video and it usually makes me cry. This current era of my Pumpkin love is my favorite. I love that they are still around, still kicking ass and still touring. I'm 44 and have loved them since I was 14. All our time cant be given back but we still have these songs and I'm forever grateful 🎃💜
What I love is hearing people on the audience psyched for solo parts. I’ll never forget something my guitar teacher taught me when I was first learning and I’d get nervous about a solo, he said that most people in audiences are excited for the parts of a song that they know, which isn’t usually the solo. So it makes me happy to hear people reacting who are real fans and know the song.
Awesome. This is my favourite SP song (soma a close second). Got to see them live on the Mellon Collie and Adore tours, glad to see James back. How good this is gives me chills.
I am so happy that when billy and james reunited they decided to play tbis acouztic version of one of the 2-soma is the other' most beautiful songs on the greatest albums of the 90s
this makes me happy! It's like so much shit has gone on over the years between the two and now full circle coming back and reminiscing and putting it together for the fans and themselves! surreal
Siamese Dream is a masterpiece in musical history.
miguel cervantes in my opinion the greatest album of the 90s
Understatement. Glad there are some others that recognize the writing, performing, recording & mixing mastery that went into this album. Even if you're not a fan you can't dismiss the absolute quality of Siamese Dream. Thanks SP & BIG thanks to Butch Vig!
Very well stated my friend❤️🤘🙏
It is
cant like this enough
That intro is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created. Period.
Yes Sir!!
I fully agree!
no BS. beautiful just doesn't do it justice. peace mate
YES
And it's the piece that James actually wrote, no?
My late sister Katie was at this show, shortly after she found out she was pregnant. One of the biggest smashing pumpkins fans ever. I miss her every day.
Only a Pumpkins fan can understand the importance of this moment...
@michaelmoz590 a power move?? From the *lead* guitarist?? LOL! James never played the lead parts, he has always been the rhythm guitarist.
Fucking love it
@@maestrogringohe’s an amazing guitar player and has written and performed some amazing solos look back to gish he absolutely shreds
@michaelmoz590 BUT He let him finish it
I understand even tho im not a pumpkins fan
I got goosebumps when He said James Iha... now i got a whole nother level of goosebumps when they started playing mayonaise... DANG! Life is beautiful!
sushisghetto Had you known before the concert that this was going to happen?
its me screaming at 1:21 btw im a man
totally agree, just ONE word comes to my mind: "goosebumps"
sushisghetto lol
The way Billy introduced him and the crowd's(not just the OP's) reaction pretty much guarantees it was a surprise.
holy crap, listen to the crowd when they announce James
This is when he reunited with him
fucking earrape
James Iha is one of the most underrated guitarist's of my generation trully a gift to any guitar!
I think you mean Billy Corgan.
Corgan is definitely talented but as a band he couldn't have gone so far without James Iha😄
Many of the great bands have members who end up hating each other even if only for a while: the Ramones, Pink Floyd, etc.
Why Maynard uses him whenever he can
I love the audience's reaction to James' intro even more than the song.
Everyone: Will James Iha return?
James Iha: When I can, I will...
Beautiful comment
This duo could make it big. They just need a drummer and a bassist.
☹️
Luckily they’ve got one of the greatest rock drummers of all time!
If only for Jimmy and Darcy…
So tired of these "these guys could be big" comments
Billy basically was the bass player, at least in the studio 😉
I like acoustic and all
it's just I kept waiting for the huge booming beefy high gain
Sounds like a Carl’s Jr. burger... with mayonnaise.
God.... my entire junior high existence just unraveled tonight on the tips of Ihas's fingers and the melody drifting smoothly from Billy's lip's. I'm 37 now and those years have still yet to be topped!
Joanne Moore My youth summed up in one song.
Joanne Moore yesss!! Same here
Agree 100% Best Era of Music Ever!
Same here! I’m teenager again!
Siamese dream to me is one of the greatest albums ever made. Got me through some very rough times in my life. I'm sure some of you can relate
Agree
I mean you are not wrong
This just made one of the worst days of my life a little better.... SP forever!
Have to ask, why was it your worst day? Pumpkins aside
Keep your head up brother. Life has been "shit splat" as well. I guess all we can do is keep jamming out
infloslinger sorry to hear man that’s fucking sad 😢 I can’t even imagine the feeling of loosing my little buddy... adopt a dog! Save one from death...
My fave Pumpkins song. It's heartwarming when musicians who have had differences get together and play beautifully.
So nice to see that they have made amends. Love this song and love the Pumpkins.
Lu Zhang have you seen them on tour this year? they’re back!
This is crazy.. i shed some tears when James came out. Smashing Pumpkins forever. Today is the greatest. Tomorrow will always be infinite sadness.
This is my favorite pumpkins song. It's crazy how James balances Billy's energy so perfectly. They really are like yin and yang. I don't consider anything pumpkins unless James is involved.
Same.
Same❤
Never thought I see the day!!! tears of joy
One of the most perfect songs ever. That was simply awesome.
Siamese dream never ejected out of my CD player back in the day and It still never gets old and that was in 97
Every now and then I come back to this video just to hear that crowd response. The overwhelming surprise and joy is therapeutic.
Amen to that, man. I just came across this and I had such a smile. What a response, I can feel the joy.
Me too. And look at them now. Still rockin!!
Smashing Pumpkins forever 🧡
I’m not crying, you’re crying
LV999 Sozk
What?
True af
This song will never not make me feel feelings.
Been watching a lot of SP videos lately, Billy seems genuinely happy here.
Crimsonphilosophy he’s got his friend back, for good i hope
Best SP song ever
Amazing. 1993 was a great year when Siamese Dream came out. Now in the present we have this. Good on you James and Billy. This was magic ;)
That's the President of Impact Wrestling playing a song with an Asian man he knew almost 20 years ago.
forrestgumball now the president of the NWA
Lol, if it wasn't true this would sound fucking odd.
Monev wrestling not rap group 😂
They had a falling out when Iha slid a folding chair onstage once and D'arcy picked it up and slammed him into the turnbuckle with it.
30 years. Gish came out in 89-90
This song just draws out so many emotions...only the best guitarists/artists can write and play this beautiful song. Credit to the Smashing Pumpkins.
This is for sure the best live version I've ever heard of this song
Axl rose and Slash....now..... Billy Corgan and James Iha....
2016 is the year of reconciliation.....Gj Guys
Ronald S Except Axl and Slash can take a back seat to this.
+Daniel Mcgreevy no I like sp way better but going to their not in this lifetime concert I have to say it was far better than another sp performance
Ronald S at the same time, it was the year we lost many beloved rock stars.. David Bowie, Lemmy and more, R.i.p
Axl Rose is a complete moron... out of all of those you mentioned... he stands out the most as someone who no-one should ever give a fuck about...
Gotta get Waters and Gilmour to jump on for any time in the near future.
This album defines my high school years, a timeless masterpiece!
RIP HEADPHONE USERS
I'm not even wearing headphones and my ears hurt.
in a good way.
*right before **1:19* what are you talking abou-OH MY GOD MY EARS ARE BLEEDING WHY?!!!"
it is called "to built the enviroment"
This song has always moved me so deeply.
I can't believe I just cried to this.
I can.
Yes, that is unbelievable.
you’re far from alone
Eyes slowly filling with warm tear drops...that relentless knot in my throat...thiking im ok ispeak...and every word trembles uncontrolably
The video I literally just watched before this was James saying he hadn't talked to Billy in over a decade. The next video was this one! And I had no idea this had happened.
I'm just had the same incident but 3 years later
Me too... And I'm crying here in Japan.
Same here
Same in Taiwan.我是愛James Iha的台灣人😘
So beautiful, i'm crying tears of joy....
Me too. Instantly transported back in time to where I was when this song came out. LIfe was good and I would sing Mayonaise to the top of my lungs. Cathartic.
20 years they weren’t even talking. I’m glad they reconciled.
Would this be the first time James played with Billy since the "final" Pumpkins show in 2000? This video never fails to give me chills :)
Yup!
I cried like a baby in the audience when I heard this song in Columbus @ Palace Theatre.
I am so happy that you captured this moment and I can revisit it. Billy bringing James on stage was one of the best experiences of my life.
This is beautiful. Thank you for posting. Best SP album ever.
James.......brought Billy Back to life :)
Thank-you, Billy and James, for blessing us with this performance 🙏
JAMES so accurate. Crisp and clean, stunning.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS SPECIAL MOMENT !!!
The best pumpkin song just got better!! Thanks James!! We love you!! 🙌🏻
I can never pick a fav pumpkins song, but man do I fucking love this song!

THE WORLD NEEDS THIS RIGHT NOW!
This is so beautiful. Nice to see them play together
Oceania wasn't bad
Is it just me or has billy Corgans voice and singing just gotten better as time has passed?
Just thank you for this. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
omg the real Billy Corgan voice is comeback!
yes
I see u everywhere everlasting gaze
We all want to hold in the everlasting gaze.
Hey Everlasting Gaze mate, please can you 'remaster' Age of Innocence, like yer did with White Spyder and With Every Light? 'Tis mon favori Pumpkins songs so if I heard the song in the best way possible, it would complete me.
*vom
This is such a beautiful of the sadness and the pain inside of my mind love it so
Feels like pieces of my youth flowing from my speakers...
Still hoping for a (real) reunion!
DIO CANE d'arcy i'm pretty sure is farming now
DIO CANE it's highly doubtful she'll EVER come back... So sad
Momo Yang Don't speak so fast! SP reunion WITH Darcy could be happening in 18.
Your dreams are true
Well Darcy didn’t come back, but we got a reunion and a new LP
The only song that can make me cry
This is my all time favorite song by Smashing Pumpkins. This really captures the raw talent and essence of the song.
Oh my god. I knew they reconciled but I didn’t know there was a specific public moment in time like this. What a special moment. Billy did well containing his excitement here for such an event.
Those audience members , especially the true pumpkin fans, were so lucky to see this.
fkn amazing. This is chemistry. Amazing and perfect.
I was there. It was .... GLORIOUS!
Whenever they play this together, Time stops.
man still remember the first time i heard this. my favorite Smashing Pumpkins song though there are many.
Truly the greatest 90's band.
James paints colors on billys music
What I love is hearing people on the audience psyched for solo parts. Dang it, this made me start crying. So many emotions here.
Awesome. This is my favourite SP song (soma a close second). Got to see them live on the Mellon Collie and Adore tours, glad to see James back. How good this is gives me chills.
James Iha: Superstar!!!!!!! The whole place went nuts.
One cannot exist without the other
I seen them at Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.. in like 96-97.. they played the whole show all acoustic.. it was so good
Jame's Iha's "let it come down" is so underrated. Sets me in a good mood every morning.
Well I am happy that I am not the only one who would scream and violently sob at the announcement of James. Pumpkins forever!
I am so happy that when billy and james reunited they decided to play tbis acouztic version of one of the 2-soma is the other' most beautiful songs on the greatest albums of the 90s
There is no Smashing Pumpkings without James Iha
Always my favorite pumpkins song. For me its that you cant ALWAYS be yourself. So when we can. We will...
I literally get chills at the part "Can anybody hear me?"- hope these two rejoin to not only tour- but make more music together.
I remember our parents didn’t understand us with this music, doc martens, Kool aid hair. It was the best time.
Something about that original line up.
Brian Schoedel even if it’s one half
Well officially announced today, original lineup will tour July-October. Minus D’Arcy
for the nth time playing. just simply amazing!
THE most beautiful Pumpkins song and still my favorite.
You're more than forgiven! Thank you SO MUCH for this! Heart skipped a 6+ minute beat...
beautiful thing to see and hear them bury the hatchet and get back together!
WOW!!!!! Never thought this would happen!!! Brilliant!!!!!
This brings years of joy to watch and see them together again.
They are my favorite band :)
Mine too
That was just gorgeous! An absolute symphony to my heart's pain and pleasures.
Totally holds up as an acoustic song.
Tears of joy for this reunion.
At least once a year i watch this clip. It was so unexpected and awesome.
Great song awesome band
never gets old
Thank you for putting that up. That's the Smashing Pumpkins right there.
Great video!
I never thought they would play together again. Awesome that you captured that moment.
This song takes my soul right out of my body every time….
Beautiful!
this makes me happy! It's like so much shit has gone on over the years between the two and now full circle coming back and reminiscing and putting it together for the fans and themselves! surreal
