very clever use of those combos from spiral, and that one guy got obliterated by good old slicer on terra magica lol. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a few off-theme support spells to employ with any build. Of course, some weapons like the St. Trina's Torch really are already so overpowered, that any adjacent tool would just dillute its raw power.
This is pretty common knowledge since the souls days, but just in case, if you press and hold your DPad up, it will return you to your first equipped spell. Same applies with your consumables.
After last video, this exact build but with the ironskin perfrume would be hilarious for groups too. You can get your charge spells off and maybe even directly shoot the floor with Cannon of Haima or charge the night comet while near or inbetween groups without dying too quickly or losing concentration, plus it ruins people's counter to wizards.
Elden ring fun fact: a fully charged R2 with a blood infused weapon with braggarts roar/ war cry will do a ton of bleed build up than it normally would! ( and I mean A LOT.) the same can also be said to other status effects like poison, scarlet rot and frostbite.
I think it would be cool to see a magma sorcery or a blood mage. There are so many different spells in the game that are so cool but no one ever uses them because they usually are just way less powerful than the regular slicer or pebble.
You can actually make blood sorcery pretty strong with an arcane build using the albinauric staff. Problem isn't the power so much as the combination of cast time and lack of variety making it hard to land hits beyond sometimes baiting people into the Briars of Sin followups, and when that's the case the health cost is really unappealing
Add an offhand dagger with assassin's gambit to use before unseen form and the host and phantoms won't be able to lock on to you and you'll also be hard to spot, perfect to sneak in a fully charged night comet.
This is super powerful, but as a stealth guy from the future, I do want to warn anybody trying this that using Assassin's Gambit does take a couple of HP, which means that if the host and/or phantoms are facing you, they'll see your health bar show up and reveal your location. It's best to use it when you can either confirm they're looking away from you or when you know they've already spotted you but you can keep your distance.
Equipping Assassins Gambit to a Misticord dagger for its crit rating would suit this build very well. Would also allow you to easily get close enough into spell casting range
I thought it was pretty interesting to see another Malenia with Twinblade in this video considering that's my current setup, and then I saw the name and how she got shredded with the slicer even though she was definitely spamming the dodge. Nice setup, and well fought.
It is absolutely criminal that I have to scroll this far to find your comment UNLIKED after I watch this video late at night! Never stop, dude. Never stop 👍

Im gonna have to make a PSA video for all wizards to start using Scraps and Pots. They're so good. If you're using any build with Int AT LEAST start using Scraps. They have max range (range of charged Gransax), they're extremely spammable, cheap on FP, they provide the "too many things to track" situation while also being incredibly good at finishing off players at sub-10% HP. Anyway, I love gimmicks like this, and I will make a build video soon with my own gimmick DMGS build because its so retardedly good and satisfying but for now I'll recommend it: You need to do invasions with DMGS and the Jelly Shield. They're a match made in heaven. Do the same thing you did here with Scorpion, Godfrey, and Alex shard. Don't bother with a staff and spells. Use the Scraps and Frost/Magic Pots I was talking about. Between them and the Moon Beam, thats all the spells you need. You only need 50 Int. Pop the Mage Physick, Buff the sword, use L2 the Jelly when you're going in. Full Swing the Moon Beam R2 and watch heads roll.
Int has an absurb amount of options. Slicer for rushers, Piercer for roll catching, Cannon for funsies, Gavel for up close funsies, Night mist for area denial, shards for quick casts and Comet(s) for range. All the more reason for every build to have divine magic fortification 🙌
Perfect example of why I love faith builds; Barrier of Gold is critical for shutting down the one shot capability of these mage builds, healing allows you to outlast the attrition, and you have some fast ranged tools to counter poke charged spells. Oh, you should really use jumps with some of the fast sorceries, like the swift shards. They come out faster, and the animation is harder to read.
Chase's use of shard spiral as a distraction reminds me of like, shaking keys or a rattle in front of a baby to get their attention. Another thing that would work would a something bright, and shiny like St. Trina's Torch
Using Unseen Form with this build is extremely powerful as it lets you snipe people without them seeing you, but any stealth effects visually won't work with either the black knife armor or the crepus vial talisman. You WILL be visible to other players it's bugged.
Yea I only recently learnt that, despite doing it in ds3. Felt pretty stupid afterwards, really wish there was just a spell wheel tho it can be so annoying to miss the spell you were looking for
Agreed. Hold up on D-pad, and you'd get a wheel with the spells equipped. Preferably always the same size, just with more slots as you get talisman pouches, so you can get that muscle memory!^^ I think that would have been super handy. The current one is cumbersome. @@100StepProgram
Chase I love your videos and would like to see more of you just having fun with random builds like this. Maybe do a stealth build, I would love to see you being sneaky af with a bow and dagger. I like it best when you change it up and deviate from you normal build. More non meta, more you just having a good time with different builds doing invasions.
Invisibility sorcerer and black knife set.. Literally me. Btw, ambush shard interacts with the Arrow Range Talisman for some strange reason. Too bad it doesn't get the Staff buff
Watching that slicer move, I'd LOVE to see you commit more to that. Just make a mage build that's designed to work in melee instead of range so they charge you, thinking you want long range, and then you take them apart.
Unexpectedly pleasing to see a professional running a build that my cheesy ass has been rocking ever since i discovered the insane Night Sorcery dps. Absolutely disgusting damage, incredibly entertaining performance!
I feel like this build could utilize night maindens mist well. It’s actually a really good spell, both for zoning and trapping people for some really good damage 🤙
I ran the PvE version of this build (it's basically identical) in the first month after launch and it's ridiculously fun. I haven't checked recently but Assassin's Gambit and Intangible Form (whatever it's called) might still stack their detection radius reductions, though I don't know if that works in PvP as well. In PvE it's so busted, you can basically walk right up to things, drop a Terra Magica, and start blasting before they ever detect you.
So a build I haven’t been able to get around to making, arcane/fai/int: using the albunaric staff and dragon communal seal. Use Arc for main scaling but have the min fai/int for a set up, I’ve seen some people using regalia of e.(can’t spell) with rotten wing/Millicent’s prosthesis to get the attack boost to make glintstone pebble or slicer do a lot of damage, but imagine dragon breath would benefit too.
I been running this build at this exact level for over 6 months constant...i love it but have never invaded since game launch...only helping people through summon signs....dressed in rags as mind melder.
Your description says madness build, but I'm not complaining. Wizards are fun. I made a wizard with Urumi in the mainhand and mostly the melee spells. There's quite a bit of roll catch potential.
it would’ve been interesting to see you incorporate more or the stealth/invisibility magic into this build but still looks like a great build either way !
You know what is also considered a night sorcery? St Trina’s Torch AOW since it puts people to sleep. The night night sorcery

At this point, I’m immediately clicking on the comments when Chase posts anything to see the latest STT propaganda

Don't you mean Night Comet night?
Ugh that would suck
