I agree with all you said. I had many many bikes on my way to my current f800gsa and it fits my personality perfectly. Amazing bike which almost instantly makes you feel at home. Only thing I'd like to see as upgrades if BMW launch a new version is an electronic clutch (the cable clutch is a little heavy for city commuting), a speed control similar to the r1200gs lc and the same LED headlights as an option, a firmer rear spring, and clearer speedometer, maybe the dash from the s1000xr. If I really could be picky, upgrading the power slightly to 70kw and a taller 6th gear (final ratio of 0.9) would make this bike a gem of a long distance tourer.
Happy New Year buddy!!! Love my F800gsa. I look at other bikes and get excited and then I get on the BMW and I fall in love all over again. Quality bike with quality finishes. Few things need tweaking but EVERY bike is like that.
Steve Goyette Absolutely agreed. Luckily the perfect bike doesn't exist, and thank god for that! Otherwise we would all be riding the same bike, with the same farkles etc! Happy new year you as well buddy! 👍🏻
crj moto happy new year buddy, to you and your wife! Hmmm... wheelie? That's actually a good question. I need to try! (And boy oh boy I can't wait to do a proper ride)
Kradmelder24 oh don't worry, it's a joke running between me and my friend, he rides lighter bikes, compared to my BMW, and he's trying everything he can in order to dont buy one 😂
Hi Pierre, do you notice that the bike vibrates a lot especially on the handle bar when you're running >100km/h because it's a twin parallel? I'm also using a CB400 inline but do not feel the vibrations as much as the GS. Thanks
Hi. Well, an inline 4 cylinders vibrates LESS than a parallel twin, and that's by default. In regards to the Gs (which I've now sold), I've noticed some vibrations, but they never bothered me
Hi, I had my 800Gsa for 2months , I got it to try out the off pavement scene. My 5 previous bikes were road bikes so for the enduro scene there are so many habits to 'unlearn' and loving it as I'm always up for a challenge .. Can't wait for lockdown to end .. As the saying goes ... Fast is easy ... Keep it up
How do you find the seat? Mine seems to slope up at the back and hurts my tailbone after about 1/2 hour. I have the comfort seat which also appear to have.
Hi Pierre; Decent and honest review. Good job. May I ask which upper crashbar have you installed? Is it Givi? And is it fully compatible with original lower engine guard and fog lights? Thanks and keep up the good work. Ride safe.
Barkın Şahin Hello Barkin! Yes, I can confirm the upper crashbars are made by Givi (as is my skidplate), and are 100% compatible with both the fog lights and the stock lower crashbars! Thanks for commenting and for the kind words! :)
Hey John! I just came home from 3 days of touring/offroad in Tuscany, where I had the chance to properly try the fork kit, and I can already spoiler you that it was a VERY GOOD mod. Relatively cheap, and which improved the bike a lot, both on and offroad! I'm still gonna record a video about it tho, so please have a little more patience!
So I watched the hate and the love. I didnt see much that has to do with performance. Most of your hates can be taken care of pretty effectively with not too much dollars. The likes seemed to be pretty superficial. How about a performance review...
Hey Sparky, thanks for the comment. Yeah, I really enjoy the improved range of the GSA800, it's probably the main reason of why I didn't pick the standard Gs. Happy new year!
Carni Hey Carni! Well, simply because the 1200 GS Adventure was too big for me. It was an awesome bike, but the size was starting to become an annoyance. The GS800 is lighter (-50kg!) and with the 21" front wheel, off-road is way better!
I rode one for the first time recently, after 5 minutes I felt like I had been on it my entire life. It's the next bike for me.
Tommy Raines Hey Tommy! Glad you liked the GSA!

Gerhard Combrink those you mentioned would be very nice upgrades to an already very competent bike. Thanks for the comment!

I really enjoyed your video Pierre. You mentioned you had a R1200GS. Why did you change to the 800?
:-) You did it! Great clip! Happy new Year my friend
Tour mit Tiger Thank you Tiger! Happy new year to you and your family as well! 😀👍🏻
But can it wheelie? Happy New Year Pierre! Looking forward to seeing a spring GSA road trip!

Snowy here : (
crj moto Ah, dang it. Yknow, it used to snow a lot down here as well, but it basically stopped since... 6 or 7 years? Something like that.
sure it can. but what for?

I just bought my first bmw f800 GSA and love it . Where did you get your crash bars ?
Bruce arseneau Hi Bruce! My crashbars are made by GIVI, same company that also made my skidplate! Check givi.com!
:)
How do you find the seat? Mine seems to slope up at the back and hurts my tailbone after about 1/2 hour. I have the comfort seat which also appear to have.
tinnedspicedham hmmm honestly I don't have any problems with the seat. In fact, I think I had more issues with the one on the 1200...

Did you make a follow-on video about the new front fork springs?

I have a F800gs, wish I had the gsa, the gs has a piss bottle fuel tank, its a joke.
