      Will Smith dropped it because he said he didn't want to lose his white fans. Which, it wouldn't have imo and I am white. Too many people both black and white nowadays worry about the past which makes no damn sense as NONE of us had anything to do with it. I love all people, period. This has to be one of the best panel discussions of a movie I have ever seen, everyone is articulate and intelligent, the questions were not soft ball but very insightful. The first question Christophe answered was perfectly done, Samuel of course is always brilliant, the man next to him on the end brought a point I hadn't thought of before...the plantation as a corporation. Before Tarrantino hangs it up I hope he does another Grindhouse movie, the final chapter of the Kill Bill series and a prologue to Pulp Fiction.

    Quentin Tarantinos story is incredible. He used to work in a video store during the eighties and managed to become an Academy award winning director of several criticality acclaimed movies. Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds and now Django unchained. Those are just a few of his movies but he also has several others that maybe weren't as well received as those aforementioned, but still very very good. He's a remarkable creator of cinema and it doesn't surprise me that he would have worked in a video store.

    • @waynemyers2469
      @waynemyers2469 2 роки тому +4

      I know what you mean, there are directors/screen-writers whose work often has a "supernatural" aspect to it, Sergio Leone is one and so is his (although we may not have seen it at the time) acolyte, Clint Eastwood ...and Stanley Kubrick, to name another...and Tarantino makes four and if you look at the movies they make they all seem to lean heavily upon three concepts: Justice, violence and change and always with a hint of inevitability about the Justice. All the guilty will suffer and sometimes the innocent too because violence begets violence but the guilty WILL ALWAYS suffer, it's inevitable...and that's where the supernatural slips into their stories because, coincidentally, that's exactly how God does things...

    I'm a girl and I loved Django Unchained. To me, it feels like a fairytale, like Django was Cinderella and Dr. King was the fairy godmother that gave him the tools to set himself free. And their relationship as mentor and mentee was so sweet. I cried when Django returned and said Auf Wiedersen to Dr. King's corpse. Watching Django destroy Candieland and get his princess was awesome. Django surpassed his master and became a legend himself. Yes it was a movie about slavery, but like Kerry was talking about we got to see a former slave empowered and be his own hero and that was flipping awesome. This movie was entertaining and touching and I loved it. A lot more than Tarantino's other works in fact.

    I loved this movie...but I must say every movie that I see Leo in I sort of respect his talent more and more...I thought he would be buried under the incredible Samuel Jackson...but he stood his own...he was not overshadowed a bit...I think he may have outshine Jamie.........In Titanic I wasn't raving about him...cause I thought he got a great movie..that was impossible to mess up...but since than ..I gotta say more power to Leo...he is an incredible actor.
