  • Assembling the turret, fixing the camber issue, setting the ride height without the kit alignment pieces and getting right up to the last stage in this part. Hope there's a few tips in here you can take away, thanks for being patient - life gets in the way of modelling !

    Hello Jon,the way you glue the King Tiger makes a lot of sense. Thanks for each of the tutorials at different steps of the build.

    Nice to see you back again, and with yet another excellent video. Always a pleasure to watch you build and hear you narrate, Jon. Here’s to part 4 sometime down the road. Best wishes for child deux. ;-)

    Excellent build and a brilliant solution to fix the suspension issue. Looking at getting this kit myself in the very near future so your build is a real bonus. Looking forward to part 4

    I recently bought this. Really appreciate the detailed build especially the bit about the axles.
    I hope we do get to see the latter stages, especially the paint.

    Great videos. I have been watching as I build the Dragon #6303 King Tiger. The Dragon kit also has torsion bar issues. I suspected problems so I ensured they were level but I wish I had seen your comments regarding the depth below the hull bed first! I was wondering where to glue them so I settled for midway which turned out to be about 1mm below the hull bed. The fit of this Dragon hull is amazing. Absolute perfect fit. Looking forward to the painted video.

      Hi
      I am new to this forum followed videos carefully progressing fine until I came to install the 2 periscopes on the front I cant see any way of pushing these "Glass" parts up from the base it will not do so only tried the G5 part t present . I am not a newbie anybody got any ideas It seems that the kit version I got red/yellow plastic does not have the camber problem "yet"

    I think the cover comes in the non covered variants. Where they apply that coating, it's removed to save hassle time. Of course, apparently most pictures of the KT are with said coating.

    Would you need to consider the weight of the gun,that push the suspension down slightly. Unless the design of the tank took that into consideration. Just a thought!

    • @Hans45
      @Hans45 6 років тому +1

      the tiger 2 weights almost 70 tons, i dont think the gun is going to make the tank front heavy

    can you please put your builds onto a playlist please, if I try play all on your video section they will play in posted not numerical order and if I leave it to the ebay auto play gods they tend to inject other people's content (paid recommended ect) which is frustrating. It's just easier for watching series of video's. excellent build, so many channels are jumping past the details of building a model which doesn't help the people who wish to learn, painting and weathering are important but if your model hasn't been well built due to the kit or builders experience then paint won't help it or a builders pride in their work. So please keep the in depth builds coming.

    Should the suspensions be in different directions on each side?

    • @SgtBones
      @SgtBones 6 років тому +3

      Yes, due to the torsion bar suspension, they are offset.

      Any chance you can change the camera angle? Every time you apply glue all we can see is the back of your hand :( Maybe take the angle from 4:30 to 1:30? Can't wait to see this finished :)

    Hi did the metal barrel come with the kit

    • @ScaleModelMedic
      @ScaleModelMedic  3 роки тому

      Yeah the kit came with the barrel, though I believe later boxing may have it omitted I'm pretty sure I bought another and it had the barrel

    • @whitetiger5284
      @whitetiger5284 3 роки тому

      @@ScaleModelMedic Only the first run has the metal barrel is what I've heard. I got a kit recently it doesn't have a metal barrel and comes in a more standard yellow plastic. The photo etch is also replaced with brass. I haven't built it yet so I can't confirm if any of the issues have been fixed such as the suspension but I'm hoping that's the case.

    • @ScaleModelMedic
      @ScaleModelMedic  3 роки тому

      @@whitetiger5284 weird that they changed the plastic, the other stuff I guess boils down to cost. The suspension issue I believe can be avoided if you're aware of it in advance, but we all piled into this new kit when it came out. Its still a cracking kit, there have been others since and all the interiors etc but this holds its own and its reasonably priced at a lot of places

    • @whitetiger5284
      @whitetiger5284 3 роки тому

      @@ScaleModelMedic Oh it looks like a great kit don't get me wrong! I'm really excited to build it but I'm waiting on supplies to paint my current two projects so I can clear my work space for it since its a big job. It's the biggest and most advanced kit I've got so far.
      Not sure how well I'll do since I'm pretty new to the hobby this being my 4th kit but it was a gift and I'd hate for it to sit and wait for me to improve.
