  • Part 6 of the Meng King Tiger Build
Part 1 of the weathering - I hoped to get it all into one video but it was getting too long! The final part is coming soon, I'm currently weathering the tracks, one side is already complete so I'm RIGHT at the finish line!
I checked this video on my phone and man the colours are all over the place. The tank is NOT that garish yellow. The thumbnail colour is more like it!
    products used are
A.MIG 1000 wash for dark yellow
    A.MIG 1203 streaking grime
    A.MIG 1206 Dark streaking grime
    A.MIG 2019 odorless enamel thinner
all of the above were used as filters, washes and a pigment fixer, all diluted with the enamel thinner
    Abt130 dark mud oil paint
    Buff Titanium oil paint
    Raw Unber oil paint
    Vallejo pigments 73109 natural number
humbrol weathering powder dark earth 96309
see previous videos in the series for mr hobby mix for my dark yellow (which looks right in person and not the horrid yellow that UA-cam compression has turned it when I uploaded the video)

Glad when I came across your channel today (an old chipping video from 6 years ago!) that I've been able to find you back at uploading after a two year gap! Beautiful work on this one. Really enjoying the series

Really enjoyed the video. Hopefully I can use some of those techniques to weather some of my model locomotives!

To think I actually studied German back in the 90s as well, thanks for the tip

Do some chipping on the enurcha starter crank handle it was always used it's amazing how many leave it looking new, including myself till started to see how chipped it was in my books and the handle worn in the middle

Yeah I think I mentioned that in the narration and then forgot to do it on the model. Luckily it's easy to get to, so I can touch it in at some point

Ok watching this, there would be drill holes in the mounts for the mudguards you have lost the reality where the guards would have been, would there have been more mud scattered on walk ways,as an ex Tankie considering your finesse,I keep learning

Yeah you should know that oil makers name haha! Abtulung 502 was a panzer devision Abt 501 had Tiger 131 in it's devision think they had 43 Tiger's each up to Abt 505 then they had there king tiger's in Normandy later! I'm building Tiger 311 ant 503 just now from one of my books I have with all original photos. I really do like there oil paints they dry really quickly to normal oils there abit like Wilders

I have an adversity to trying the foreign pronunciations lol, comes as part of the black country accent, I did do a gcse in German years ago I dread to think what I sounded like

@@AFV85 I never go mega heavy with weathering, probably to my detriment as that's what most viewers want. Good luck with your projects, if the products are in my videos they are only there because of their merit - I bought them so they're not being promoted cos I got them free. I am sure you'll see how well they perform when you have a go!
