Princetown eh , Sandy ? So you had a very interesting 'hotel' quite handy... I love The Parting Glass ... Used various versions in a few of my clips , but landed with copywrite hassle. Some great looks a lovely area. Good job you didn't have the ghost of the purportedly beautiful Beryl Stapleton luring you out into Grimpen Mire...
Magically evocative Sandy...I love the original Hound of the Baskervilles film in black and white with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce so great to see the cottage where it was based in a stunningly beautiful but challenging landscape washed down with bacon, two eggs and sausage. Wonderful :)
Is that right Ted!, yes Dougal, that's right!. Amazing spot Sandy, really enjoyed that mate. Keep an eye out for Father Jack.......for Fecks sake. ATB Moose
Another great outing with you Sandy. Glad you enjoyed the fire water! Amazing footage with the drone. Looking forward to part 2 when it would appear I "jinx" the weather again!!! ATB. Ant 😉
Hi Sandy, myself and the wife often walk out to Nuns Cross from Burrator and then up to Princetown for a pub lunch and back to Burrator again. Dogs love it and a nice pint in the Plume just to be sociable. Will try and catch up soon . Kevin
Hi Sandy, Dartmoor is a magical area of ONB and full of ancient historical places to visit such as Grimspound, the Iron Age farmstead, and Black Tor Copse, an ancient Oak woodland full of stunted trees and boulders all covered in moss, it's one of our last wildernesses and I hope it stays that way, cheers, atb.
Great to see another adventure video from you Sandy. Looks a lovely place where you stayed. Looks like there is plenty of history in there. Hope you weren't bothered in the night by the odd ghost nuns. Looking forward to part 2.
More awesome footage Sandy, the start of the video reminded me of the Father Ted intro. I have friends who live on a farm near there, it is a beautiful part of the world. All the best, Jim.
Ha, now I know what you were doing whilst I was in the pub....I mean elsewhere. It was great to have you down Sandy, all being well we'll do it again in the Autumn :)
What a beautiful place that is and you had some lovely shots with the camera / drone. All the time I was thinking about the people who have traveled the and and taken shelter there over the years. And metal detecting, metal detecting, metal detecting...magic mushrooms?....metal detecting, metal detecting, lol
You all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Aaron Kamdyn i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Those two trees were like dark sentinels of the house. Lovely to see trees in such an untamed environment. Great vid. Sandy. I see nobody dared sleep upstairs on their own ha ha. 😀
That is one interesting building and surroundings bro. Anything to do with Dartmoor reminds me of the Tales of Dartmoor on the Goon show, lol. Looks like it cold sleep quite a few. Is open to anyone or need to be booked in advance. Liked the vid so ATB
Love the inside of that house. The food look real good nice and greasy just the way I like it. Goes good with a couple of drinks. Good that someone remember to bring the bottle. Lol
Hey ho, hey ho, its off for a stroll we go.......... Looked a good time out Sandy, but I'm sure you'd have all been lost without Wilma :) All the best mate.....
History is so important. It's important to learn, to know and to keep and use. And two eggs on your plate ? Luxury. Were you going on a special mission ??
Thanks for sharing these historical places. We don't have as many over here, probably not looking hard enough. Good on you for helping document some of the lessor known, at least to me, places. Hope to see some of them someday.
Hey Sandy, very nice to see you fellows out for an adventure. What kind of tree was that you were standing infront of at 2:30? Looking forward to part two 😊
Must have missed this one sandy.. really enjoyed it. Ghost hunt.... scary stuff lol..... do you believe in ghosts? In whatever form they might come in?

Great stuff Sandy, know the area. Did you make the Warren House? Great farmhouse cider.
That is one interesting building and surroundings bro. Anything to do with Dartmoor reminds me of the Tales of Dartmoor on the Goon show, lol. Looks like it cold sleep quite a few. Is open to anyone or need to be booked in advance. Liked the vid so ATB

Bare views in Dartmoor Sandi. Any forest area there? Osmo
History is so important. It's important to learn, to know and to keep and use.
And two eggs on your plate ? Luxury. Were you going on a special mission ??
Enjoyed the video's, I like to get lost in the country side, Then the music starts, You can't please everyon. Good nighte.
Nice looking cottage! Could do with a week away from it all out there hah
Thanks for sharing these historical places. We don't have as many over here, probably not looking hard enough. Good on you for helping document some of the lessor known, at least to me, places. Hope to see some of them someday.
that place looked so father ted
Hey Sandy, very nice to see you fellows out for an adventure.
What kind of tree was that you were standing infront of at 2:30?
Looking forward to part two 😊
Nice story and visuals Sand' triple sleeper cots too! been a while since I've been in one of them' I would of been on the floor with you.
wow...you're not exactly in your old neighborhood now are ya?
Great video, looking forward to Part 2. Have you ever visited Standon Farm on Dartmoor? I think it'd be right up your Street.
that's so funny "Ant the weather jinx"
looks awesome have you started a new channel sandy
Four men and a dog in a remote cottage, what could possibly go wrong? Looking forward to finding out in part two :)
you could certainly pack a few people into the farmhouse if needed, :-)
Plenty of room Niel. I think it sleeps over 30
Smashing video Sandy.

flamesfromblazer thanks, I was curious only as I live in Australia so a bit too far for a week end trip.
Wow that's a cool place to visit very spooky lol
Must have missed this one sandy.. really enjoyed it. Ghost hunt.... scary stuff lol..... do you believe in ghosts? In whatever form they might come in?
i hope nobody chops down either 1 of those trees i was in the dartmoor rescue team or group tavi section and we often needed to be able to see those 2 trees in the thick mists that often descend on this gen area you were privileged to go insides ive never ever been inside of it spent 40yrs passing bye it never once been in it yet? & your a blowin wiltshire outsider!! i spooked a party of kids once putting a sheeps skull torch n sheet on ends of a broom handle torch spotlighting the skull head waiving it up near ceilings in the bunkroom just as kids were drifting off to sleep you never heard such a loud shriek of fear scream in unisons before! that was after telling em the ghost story geeing em up a bit 1st ly of cse!!
interesting how you call it the grimpen mire i we used to call it fox tor mires but theirs allsorts of names in this area the abbots n monks used to navigate by that cross as part of the buckland abbots way from buckfastleigh to tavistock!! prevent them getn too lost in the mists or mires in their habits near their is childes tombe where a young lad died one foul weathered evening he got caught out in a terrible blizzard killed his horse crept inside its rib cage to weather out the night unfortunately they still found him dead
after searching for him days later
place is called childes tombe
to mark the spot where he died non descript place up high must have been brutally exposed in the winter time
the army also dropped a bren gun carrier by parachute once in this area of the mire during training in ww2 they never found it again!!
sunk in the mire!!
if you know what you are about there is a series of wooden railway sleeper step bridges mostly rotted but still.adequate to utilise that still exist to get you in zig zag fashion safely ish across that mire!!
the lower ends towards west dart river is very boggy indeed best avoid the mire completely after heavy rain! ive seen a guy go up to his hip belt most times you only go in max up to knees ankles stay clear of the quaker bogs that undulate as you bounce on them
if you ever pierce the thick mossy matting and go through you are in a world of trouble all deepish water under the bog!!
in ireland divers can go under them dive down 54ft bring up fossilised tree stumps wearing a pack
i prefer to stick clear!!
nobody would hear your cries if you got stuck out here!! unless you got lucky!!
you can leg it from here into the plume of feathers pub have a wee dram or beer get back to yer bothy in ok time just dont drink too much cuz we do have accts of rescue team members getn lost halfway along a wide obvious pathway to their tents having a navigational crisis after a few beers too many wandering back into proncetown again instead of nuns cross farm
opp directions
which is entirely their own doings of cse alcohol impairing their brain functions!!
often seen all in huddle in mist fog at s hessary tor discussing urgently in panic that they are lost!!
often yards away from their own tents
funny!!
