Hi there Sandy and once again many thanks for taking over and leading the ride. I think that you managed to get plenty of footage in some very poor conditions and as ever gave your viewers a great view of the ride and atmosphere etc.. Looking forward to many more adventures in the new year.😊😊😊😊
Hi Sandy, Happy New Year! 🥃🥃 Just caught up with your video this cold New Year’s Day morning. Heavy rain here in the west of Edinburgh has now turned to snow and is building rapidly on the ground. A complete white-out so no flying for me today 🙁. Loved tagging along with you for a virtual motorcycle ride instead. It was interesting to be reminded how much the ‘Convoy Effect’ causes a large group to string out. Usually means the poor guys at the back have to push hard to keep in contact with the rest of the group. I have experienced the same thing in the plane when flying with a large group - despite the lack of traffic / lights / etc. Good to see you got everyone safely back to the pub for their mince pies. Best wishes to you, Mandy and all your friends and family for 2025. p.s. Good to hear Colin managed to track down and fix the fault. As soon as you mentioned the lack of dip in the ammeter, I suspected it was electrical.
Thanks Peter, Yes it was electrical. I at first thought that but got side tracked by the bike not wanting to run on tickover thinking the idle jet could be blocked. Anyway all sorted now:) No snow down here but temps are falling
If you want to have a designated "Winter Bike", it might as well be a Royal Enfield Himalayan. The trusty old Chug is about as reliable as any that you will ever find. I think that you have the perfect trio of bikes that will allow you to do pretty much anything you would ever want to do on a motorcycle. Very well done Sandy, you have certainly chosen very well. And today was an excellent adventure for you and your top notch group in spite of the less than ideal weather conditions. Mother nature isn't always in a kind mood. That's why it is called an adventure. Thanks for sharing your time with us my friend, it is always inspiring and interesting. I will surely see you on the next one.
What a lovely way to end the year with a group of friends on a motorcycle ride out. Thank you for all your videos this year Sandy. Good health and best wishes for the new year.
Another great video Sandy. Wonderful that there was such a good turn out for the ride. A shame Colin’s motorcycle acted up but he still got to enjoy a mince pie with the gang. Well done to all of you 👍👍. Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦
The Himalayan thumps onwards again, there looks to be a fair few in your group, including a new variant(bright headlight) , great to share your trip out and up into the hills of Swindonshire, looking forward to your next outing but until then Happy New Year Sir Sandy!
Hello Sandy, Thank you for your smashing videos and for allowing us to join you. I hope you and all your fellow friends have had a very happy Christmas and wish you all a happy new year with warm ride outs and no break downs or idiot drivers. My next ride with my Blackburne i hope will be a ride on new years day....weather permitting. Rgds, Peter.
Another great video my British friend. I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something magnetic about you & your style Sandy. In any case, I'm glad that I found you recently & am along for the ride. I had to watch this video a couple of times since I enjoyed it so much; but that's the case with most of your video's. Have a beautiful day! I hope your wife is doing O.K.. Happy New Year! Cheers!! Illinois, USA
Thanks for your great videos this year, this was a lovely video really enjoyed the journey. Shame about Collins bike excuse for a pint though. All the best to you Sandy, your lovely family and friends.
Lovely bunch of guys. It's a shame about colin, what a great chap Dickie is,we all need friends like him. Wish i lived closer perhaps i could have taken my old triumph thunderbird out for a run. Fantastic video, happy new year to you all, keep safe.
The great mincepie run yay, a pity about the claggy weather but nevermind, chug became the lead bike welldone Sandy, lovely pub to have a mince pie and a pint ? or coffee , thanks Sandy for taking us out for a spin, if this is your last video of the year ? thank you for all the great video's over the past year and a happy new year to you and your family 🍻👏👋
Damp and dismal, but what what a lovely bunch to link up with! Shame about the bike breaking down, but sometimes that's the way it goes. If you ride out long enough in the rain, maybe the bike will wash itself Sandy 😂😂😂
Lovely to see you all out enjoying a ride out and each others company. What beautiful countryside we have here in Wiltshire. Happy new year to you and your family. Stay happy and healthy. Xx
Hi Sandy, firstly thanks for the ride, also for all the ride outs this last year, love em, great countryside (when you can see it) same here on the NW coast, Morecambe Bay, but real good bit of camaraderie there it must be nice to ride with others, so for now Happy and healthy new year to you and yours, please take care and looking forward to the new year rides Bless you Wiltshire Man. Ted NW biker Dude
Newer bikes have taken a little of the adventure out of group rides. Looks like you had a nice ride and only one having to drop back is not bad. Hoping we both see a little more of the sun in the near future. Happy New Year Sandy.
So called "turd town Swindon " has so much beauty and history within half hour either direction. Thanks for sharing even on a wet ride out well worth the trip.
Pie Run!!! While the type of pie is different over here I do love pie & ice cream runs! Southern California has a restaurant in Julian CA that has excellent pie. I've found another in Cambria CA. When I get back down there I'll put up a video or two on them. Great of you all to help with the bike. 👍
Hi Sandy, another brilliant video, great one to end the year on, it makes me so happy that my dad, Les and our friend Mark are part of the group, such a bunch of lovely guys. Happy new year to you and your family. ❤
Had my 2 mince pies and coffee watching bro, had a wee shower come over too but only lasted a minute or 2, now it is not bad. Forecast 24 today. Hey happy new year to all you guys. Safe travels y'all. Ken.
Well done Mr reliable sorry about Colin's break down. Hope everyone had a nice minced Pip & coffee . Lovely video as usual Happy New year to you all my best wishes to you all from the Philippines ♥️💪👍😉😄😁🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
Nice ride, Sandy, even if it looked a little damp and cold. I'm sure the companionship of good friends and a warm treat in an inviting pub made for a good day for all. Best wishes for a truly Happy New Year!
If you are doing a group ride we normally have leader and a trailer that stay the same positions in the group. At every junction, the 2nd rider in the group stops somewhere safe to indicate which way the group has gone. When the trailer is in sight, they can then join in front of the trailing rider.
I am envious, here in Canada we don't ride our bikes at all during the winter. There are four motorcycles sitting in my garage, hooked up to battery chargers waiting for a spring day where the rain has washed both the snow and salt away. Sigh...
"It does what it does". You keep doing what you do as well Sandy. Misty murky bimble, yet enjoyed by all, even if the Christmas Gremlins are lingering on. Happy New year you guys. Just keep 'em coming please.
@@WiltshireManHealing thoughts right to you Sandy. I've just had 10 weeks off work! Thought I was on an exit ramp. I'm self employed so this has been a hit in more ways than one. You doing what you do helped me through it. Thank you. You're so much stronger than I am. Listen to your body rest up & I look forward to seeing your next one when YOU are ready. NOT before. Take care mate.
@@londonviking3801 I'm willing to keep an open mind about ALL things but some things are hard to prove, so those things I put on a shelf in my mind to be revisited at a future point when more info becomes available. There certainly is an interesting rabbit hole to go down though:)
The stripped paintwork from Dicky's jetwasher made my toes curl, amazing what damage they can do! Great ride out though. I'll opt for a hot mince pie with double cream, please 😄
Back in 1989 me and a few work mates from Lechlade did a night run in our Suzuki Jeeps (so 2 jeeps 4 up) and that bit up to white horse hill we came down...I know it's one way but we came down the wrong way in ice and that's a massive drop on our left your right lol even the bit to dragon hill.
Nice ride out there even though it was a bit dank and grey. It’s been quite gloomy the last few days with a strange dampness in the air. Hope you feel better soon. I had that nasty virus thing just before Christmas. It seems to be doing the rounds.
I used to commute on a little honda 125 and one year was so salted and crapped up I decided to jet wash it and all the paint came off the swing arm. Strip down and pain in spring but 3 days work for a quick convenient wash. Not great news for RE is it. I still read so many negatives on the brand as well as all the long distance some cover without problem
It seems to happen that where perhaps there's a stone chip corrosion sets in beneath the powder coating and the finish just flakes off then. I have it on mine too, I just keep on top of it with some black hammerite and apply ACF50. Our Himalayans are lasting well to be honest.
its unlucky to wish someone a happy new year before the old year is out,, maybe thats why his bike wouldnt start ,,think you should be the new leader lol,,
Natural progression that sandy, you have now been promoted to wing commander (red one). Remember you are not the US Marines, we do leave men behind 😂😂😂 👍👍👍🇬🇧🫡 happy new year Dickey. Roger out.
Congratulations on coming 4th in the TAYM poll of UA-camrs!! Well deserved!!

nice ride, fantastic to go ride in this season. Sandy the leader
What a great idea for the "slow days" between xmas and new year, never a wrong time for mince pies and coffee.
