You are very knowledgeable and it's a treat to watch a walk thru of this train meet in your area. I am heading to a train show tomorrow and watching your video is retraining me to keep a keen eye when I am scanning dealers tables. Great video!
The 0-4-0T at 14:41 is custom done by the same guy who did a 2-6-6-2 I got at a train show a few weeks ago! Same logo and weathering, it was at the La Crosse show when that happened, I heard that the guy who owned it and did that weathering job sold off his collection
Also, wanted to mention that those B&O Coaches were both made by a company called "American Beauty" or something like that, I remember seeing a few before!
With some help I was able to identify them as Strombecker passenger cars. I generally dislike weathering on the whole so a job done that poorly usually earns some ire from me. I wish I'd known there was a train show in lacrosse as I would have made the trip out, it's 2 hours from me in Madison.
@@gopernoperstrains3160 Interesting note about Strombecker, I remember, vaguely, hearing about them, from what I remembered they only produced models that had wood sides and no trucks, interesting that whoever owned those coaches before converted them to HO operation
Looks like it was a really awesome train show lot of good dealers I visited a very small train show not very big. But it looks like you had a very good time
Thanks for the compliments on the FVM Hiawatha. The set is excellent and I was running a short consist Sunday, because the Lounge Car and one of the coaches were having issues with coupler droop and not liking one of the module transitions. The reason for slowing down, was not block running so much, but to space the trains out on the layout. With a 27'x70' layout the amount of space that the three trains had to fill was large, but we try to space them out so that there was a constant view of a running train when looking at the layout.
Ahh unfortunate the whole consist couldn't be on at once haha. It was definitely a sight to see! Get her on the outer track next time though lol. I can't speak for everyone but Id rather have a better view of the Hiawatha than a tired old hopper train. Hope to see you and your set at another show in the future!
@@gopernoperstrains3160 I know that is a long time coming on a dead post, but we hammered out the issues with layout and I did a simple fix for the FVM coaches. I ran it at Monroe with all 7 coaches for over 2.5hrs with no issues. So it will be making it's appearances again at Mad City 2025
My brother just purchased a lionel 221 last year. I always thought it was an interesting piece. It's an early piece in post war that has the 2037 wheel arrangement in a streamlined outfitting. He is not particularly fond of it but needs it for his collection. I think it's pretty sharp as a TOY train, just run it with some 2400 cars and you have a nice little set
When you think of Going to The Mad City Train Show Keep this in Mind Do your Home work Well Before Going this Show Will Boggle Your Mind Blow It as Well For The Weather They Will go No Matter what. This show will Always Be In My mind.
@@gopernoperstrains3160 I saw they still had paragon 2 switchers but I wanted other rare locos plus I would probably rarely run it anyways they do an annual sale where the stuff in the store is really cheep
How Could you NOT Wanna go To the Mad City Train show. If You are a Model Railroader Like Me you Have to Go to this Show. If you miss it you have to go to it Next year. I am going one way or Another.
I love the wrap around trains! It's kinda funny but super neat seeing a tiny N gauge ABBA set pulling 50 cars around a layout
That Riva 20th Century Limited looks stunning. Wish I had more train shows in my area.
Looks like a great show. I love train shows. Great video will.

What I Love About The Mad City Train show is This you will Lose your mind And Druel A lot but going to that show Is Worth it Every Second.
That Rio grande Loco from the g scale layout is, if I saw correctly, a live steam loco.
