So while obviously PETA is dumb as all hell and you’re right about them killing animals, the point of “saving” dead animals is to get people to stop buying meat products. That way the meat industry doesn’t get money.
Personally, I don’t give a shit and chicken is good for you, but that’s what people mean when they want to stop eating something
I would be more concerned with exposing the hockey players/other skaters to salmonella and other infectious microbes inherent to spoiled/old chicken.
You can’t sterilize a hockey rink.

I personally consider PETA as an idiotic organization yet I can't disagree that using frozen chickens, even if expired, is an insult to all people who suffer famine around the world. The saying: " Don't play with food" is not just a question of etiquette, It is about respect for the animal that was killed for no purpose in this situation, and for those who struggle every day just for a piece of old bread. The thing that these games are devoted for charity is an honorable act but use something else, is it so difficult to understand? America......you can do better!
Who's to say how these animals died? Sure, it isn't fair to them, but humans aren't the only species worthy of ridicule, chimps, wolves, among many other species have all done acts you would condemn. Also, I don't view it as an insult to starving people, it's EXPIRED CHICKEN! The only place that it would go is the dumpster otherwise. So, why not use it for a fun game that connects people? Eating expired chicken would be way more harmful to a starving person than not eating much in a day, or missing a day of eating. I get where you're coming from, but the realities of the situation are that this game is beneficial to people.
Maybe I got misunderstood. I don't condemn eating meet, I'm a hunter myself. Indeed It's true, those are EXPIRED chickens, but the point is we have become so wasteful in this bloody century that we can happily concede ourselves to play with food that, with a smarter eye, could have been saved and used (in good advance) for better purposes: homeless, animal shelters, anything worthy. The game is good and honorable but the "poultry show" is ridiculously disrespectful. Can you see my point now? Thank you 😊
@@TheNautiluss Sure, they could have done that from the start, and yes, the excess in food manufacturing certainly could go elsewhere. What they should have done is used chicken that had died unexpectedly, or from an illness/disease, then it would have been A okay, but yes, I see where you are coming from.
Um... old chicken can quite literally kill you. Just like raw chicken, old chicken, even though it's frozen, there's still bacteria festering inside them, they're just not reproducing as fast. They still produce toxic chemicals into the meat and when thawed, many types can survive the heat of cooking. I don't think we want to give starving people E.Coli and Food poisoning
