This was a great conversation, really helpful. It may be helpful to know that the different volume level between yourself and louise made it a little difficult to listen to as turning up the volume to hear louise made it extremely loud when you spoke 😀
Brilliant from the USA. Keep the conversation moving forward for all woman suffering. Me included. I am 57 yo and suffering vaginal atrophy and need all the information and treatment.
I’ve had a decade of insomnia and no period for 6 months and 2 years of period issues etc, I have recently begged my doctor to let me try hrt to see if it will help and he refused and said it’s too dangerous
If you're not already, we really recommend following Dr Louise Newson and checking out her site at www.menopausedoctor.co.uk which is full of up to date advice. The Balance app is also great and can help you to track your symptoms. Wishing you the very best of luck, we know how hard this can be. 💚
I have an appointment with a female doctor for next month to discuss hrt. I hope she'll be able to help me. It sounds like you need to find a new doctor
I totally understand..I was on hrt in my forty s and partially in my 50s....it is a game changer...terrific..after the study the doctor cut me off and I have suffered since with bad symtoms..I am 73 years and want back on hrt. I am in Canada and hope I can go back on it...I have an appointment this month...I will be so angry if they won't allow me back on.
All the information is great and I have learned a lot from Dr Newson but I would like to hear about HRT and the contraception pill. What HRT is suitable if you are taking the pill? We keep being told about when your periods become irregular or stop but what if you are still on the pill so don't get periods.
That's a great question. Dr Newson's website www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/ has excellent up to date information and some brilliant fact sheets which may help you. I'd also recommend talking to your GP or health practitioner. 💚
I'm early menopause and going through difficult changes. I'm struggling to come to terms with it all and especially during this pandemic. Can anyone help in regards to my skin. Always had good skin however I'm like a teenager atm. I have oily, blackheads and when I get the spots they take ages to go and they are sore, have a large area then with a scab for ages. I hate these changes. It's like being constantly hit with a bat across the head, something new and symptoms all the time. Please help. What vitamins are good. I'm allergic to shellfish so glucosamine and omega 3 I cant take. I could go on but I'll be here all night. So much going on with my body.
We know how hard this can be. 💚 We really recommend following Dr Louise Newson and downloading the Balance App to help you track your symptoms for when you go and visit your GP. If you would like a free skin consultation please get in touch with skincare@votary.co.uk. 💚
I'm was a 7p-7a RN (night shift only) during peri and ate only during the day, no food during night shifts and my sleep ok as long as i didn't rotate to day shift. Now, that I'm nearly post meno, I have severe insomnia even though I take estradiol and progesterone hrt which I'm told are testing at low premeno levels (DUTCH test). However, my Testosterone (T) test results indicate nearly no T. I theorize insufficient T levels likely contribute in this meno insomnia phenomenon. I'm using myself as a research subject to test my hypothesis. This research is not helped by the fact that I've found no reliable recommended T levels ratios as compared to estradiol in women. If you have any information, please share.
The video was originally an IG Live which is why the quality isn't as good as our usual videos. The Live can still be found there if you wanted to try listening from there. 💚
I was on hrt for years and felt much better but after that hrt study the doctor would not allow me estrogen. .i had horrible symtoms without estrogen...amd i didnt sleep so she gave me zopiclone which is not good for long term. I havent had estrogen since mid fiftys and i am now 73 years old and i am desperate to be back on hrt...i have an appointment with the doctor this month. I am from canada, in manitoba, and i am afraid she wont give it to me.
Hi Roselyn I know your comment is from 10 months ago. I have been struggling with severe menopause insomnia for a few months now. If you don't mind me asking, how is your mom doing with her insomnia. Can you please share with me if she found a solution to her insomnia? I really need help. Thank you.
This website, created by Dr Newson is really informative: www.balance-menopause.com/ It is packed full of brilliant information and tips. We hope you find some helpful information in there. 💚

According to the official guidance(NICE) you are entitled to HRT if you request it.
Get an appointment with a female Dr, I'm on hrt and I don't believe it's dangerous.
