The islander is lovely, especially if you take the GPS out and hide your plane on all the maps and go cross country with only the radios and what you can see out of the window for navigation. Blackbox sneakily released a Belfast Concorde that nobody seemed to have any idea was coming a few months ago, there are about 6 variants in the package including the Sherpa with the tail ramp. It's also very nice if you haven't tried it, and very relaxing - pretty sure everything on your GA smile list except the Islander and the Stearman would leave it in the dust :)
Nice one. I did a variation of IFR a few years back - I Follow Rivers. I followed the path of various famous rivers. I broke each journey down into segments and used a different plane for each one. Kept me out of mischief for a while :)
Good video and I agree about the fast edit style, a little goes a long way and it just wears me out! The Islander is a favourite, took a flight from Oban to Islay in Scotland once and sat in King's seat, two bladed prop howling inches from my ears. You need earplugs back there.
I spent 20 years in therapy trying to remove the theme song from that show from my head and with a single comment on a video, I'm right back to where I started. "I don't wanna wait...."
I like your idea of the “IFR” route. I enjoyed the trip. Meanwhile, this weekend my PC terminally crashed during a flight. Now I’m reinstalling everything in a new PC. That’s a bummer on one hand, but at least I have a PC with a new graphics card….
Bloody glorious engine sound, this one.

BlackBox's Islander and Trilander are favourites of mine too. Fun to fly when you want just a few pax. Too many pax can be irritating lol.

Hello mate. I really like that! I won't steal it per se...but a future video may pay homage to your idea :)

I thought it was named after Dawson from Dawson's Creek... learn something new every day.

Gday Mate Glad you enjoyed flying the Dawson Highway in Canada
Been awhile since I've busted out the Islander also.
Might have to do some south Pacific island hopping when I fly next.

Silver lining and all that :) Enjoy the new rig mate!
surely named after James Van Der Beek's character? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawson%27s_Creek 🤣
