The quality of your videos is pretty awesome man! I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into making this. I enjoyed watching it for sure. It was like watching a big TV show or movie at times. I'm not so sure the wheels would look good on my turbo three just because it's black ext/int but I think they look very nice with your color 3. The side skirts are pretty cool. I really want to do more appearance mods like this and your other ones but have mostly stuck to performance stuff like Tuner and intake (exhaust next). I guess the wheels are performance based considering they're maybe better in the snow.
They also weigh less than the factory wheels so when I switch to summer tires it’ll be even better! You should pick up some skirts if you want to get into exterior mods it’s much easier than the factory wing or air dam to do.
RX-7 wheels have 8 inch rim width, which is a lot wider than the Mazda3 OE 16x6.5, and with 5 mm higher offset (interior edge of wheel is 5 mm closer to the car). With the wide but low diameter rim it's potentially a risk for the suspension components to collide with the inside of the wheel during extreme scenarios; Mazda3 uses struts in the front which need a taller wheel aspect ratio than the double wishbone RX-7. The RX-7 tire diameter is also about 3% smaller than Mazda3 OE, which is borderline variance for standard practice. I know the channel owner doesn't have a 3 anymore, but just something for others to be aware of, for any car really.
Worth mentioning: the Mazda3 Turbo is an 18x7 +45, the FD wheel is 16x8 +50. While this does mean the wheel is inherently moving in further, your tires will impact that result greatly. I found on my beefy winter tires after the season was done, there was some minor scrubbing on the strut cover itself but nothing major. I’d recommend getting something in the +30-40 range for a nice variable fit.
They look nice. I bought the OEM Mazda M011 from a Canadian Mazda dealer in gloss black and downsized to 16in for my xice tires. Didn't slip once all winter.
1:44 I took all the keys off my factory wheels and put a regular 17 mm lug nut. I had a tire shop use my keys on my cars before so I just don’t want no crap with it.
