Today, we’re exploring the breathtaking Blue Mountains, a World Heritage-listed wonderland just a stone’s throw from the city. Get ready for an adventure through lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and charming cafes.
Wentworth Falls First up, we visit Wentworth Falls, one of the most stunning waterfalls in the Blue Mountains. With several walking tracks, you can choose a gentle stroll to the lookout or a more challenging hike down to the falls. Remember to wear comfy shoes and bring water - some paths can be steep.
Katoomba Falls Next, we head to Katoomba Falls, a segmented waterfall that offers picturesque views. The round walk starting at Scenic World is about 2 km and takes roughly an hour. It’s a moderate walk with some steep sections, so take your time and enjoy the scenery.
Yellow Deli Cafe After all that exploring, it’s time to refuel at the Yellow Deli Cafe in Katoomba. This cozy spot offers hearty sandwiches, fresh salads, and delicious cakes. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. They’re open most days until 7 PM, but check ahead as hours can vary.
Scenic World At Scenic World, you’ll find the world’s steepest railway and a skyway with panoramic views of the mountains. You can ride the cable car, walk through the rainforest, and even enjoy a picnic above the clouds. Make sure to book your tickets in advance, especially during peak times.
