We'd pronounce Govett's Leap as Guvetts Leap, rather than the "o" sound you give it. Don't ask me why, but that's been the pronunciation used here. Glad you found Lithgow, which is quite different to the rest of the Mountains.
it is really peaceful place. i cant believe it took only less than 15$ for the round trip train ride from Central to Katoomba. A nice getaway place for sure
I'd also recommend the Lolly Bug, just at the bottom of Victoria Pass, for some lollies. They're not long reopened after a fire destroyed the original shop in 2021 or 2022, can't remember exactly. On the southern side of Lithgow there are WW2 AA guns, there are free to visit.
Good tips! I did visit the ww2 guns but there was a storm that came through so I sat in my car and couldn’t film it. It seems surrounded entirely by a new residential area too, which made it feel like I was in someone’s back yard
good video, I travel along bells line all a good few times a year {Richmond to Lithgow}... never thought to turn off the main road and check out that little town at Mt Wilson...cheers : )
As nobody has responded, I would say you could spend a full day or two days quite easily, but its at least a very full day - how many hours is up to you. The driving alone would be maybe four hours depending on where you start. I would recommend two days at least to actually spend some reasonable time at each place he mentioned, and three days should be a bit more relaxed and not boring. On a one day trip probably you would not want to go any further than katoomba

It’s Springwood.
Damn it you’re right! I knew that but sometimes things autocorrect when I wrote them and I don’t pick up on it!
Should have checked if someone corrected this already, deleted my comment:P
I would like to explore more of Wollemi National Park .
