All I Want...(June to November 1944)

Demo song.
Whilst compiling a document of my Dad's memories of serving in WW2, I awoke early one morning in the small hours before the dawn back on October 23rd 2020, imagining what he might have been thinking in between the moments of battle from D Day on Gold Beach right through to the liberation of Holland in 1944, being only 22 years old and having served in Africa and the invasion of Sicily.
I always thought this was just going to be left as words and that no musical accompaniment would ever seem appropriate, but as it was 80 years ago on the 6th of June this year (2024), I had a go this morning fitting the words around some basic chords and this is the result (1 day later).
