It was really good to see a Nico video with sheer professionalism, reminded me of the old videos 1-2 years ago. I don't think the editor made a bad job its just the Dr. Mike video that has a slower pace and I think you choose the right way to critique his watch collection :D

Niko's professionalism is in his authenticity of emotion and thought and words however limited they may be... The bastard makes me cry with him every other damn video he makes. I think the editor did well. To be fair, this was a far calmer video and offering really good tone and information. People were maybe coming here expecting loudness and such but this was a different style. I liked it.
Hello Nico, Interesting what you said about the number 3 on the Royal Oak. I did some research and found the answer, this watch is of course real. The case 26320ST.OO.1220ST.02 from the Royal Oak collection, this is an older model and includes the white dial chronograph, this includes a slightly different date wheel from the one you showed. Thus explaining the slightly unusual number font, however this is typical of this case shape and year/ model. Thank-you for the great video, once again very interesting.
Interesting to seek Audemars Piguet switching up the date wheels for this specific model, not sure why but I can confirm this is an official date wheel.
Mate, the right subdial reads 12-3-6-9 in the video. Googling your reference, the right subdial reads 10-20-30. Wrong reference. Also, the font is still different, screenshot and put them side by side, it's just not the same. Also super thing markings on the subdials compared to real pictures of that reference.
Love the story of the Zenith that you were even connected with when you started Pride and Pinion. Someone said this episode was slower, but I honestly liked it a lot - hearing the Charles Vermont story is something I think a lot of people who get into watch it should know as a pertains to Rolex and Zenith
One thing I like about Zenith and a few other watch brands. They have blueprints of all their previous watches, and discontinued watches or parts are no object when they can just produce them again on demand
Exactly my thoughts, the whole window is way off, plus the fonts of the entire watch seem too light compared to the other photo, where they are slightly bolder.
That looks more like the AP 26320, which indeed uses a rounded font, and the date window is way closer to the subdials. Nico is wrong. Still not sure if that watch is 100% legit, but it's not the model Nico is saying it is.
26320 has a "rounded" 3, but the one pictured is still not the right date wheel for that reference. The 26320 3 is still slightly "squished" in comparison to the one pictured. Also, the "1" in the watch in the video would be incorrect - 26320 used a straight line, the one in the video is the full arabic numeral "1". This looks like the date wheel from a cal.3120 movement like the 15400, 15300, 15710 etc...though none of those are chronographs. This is a weird one for sure...
NICO THE 3 FONT you are comparing the watch to is newer and if u see the placement of the date on that newer dial its different as well. Maybe his watch dose need a service though lol 13:33
Good call. At 13:55, the date window on one example is dead center between the 'batons' & right up against the edge of the dial. Where the window on the other example is closer to the '5 O'Clock' marker, and positioned more towards the dial's center... Is Nico sure that the OTHER example isn't a replica? Or is it just a different vintage? Has AP ever changed the Date Window location?
ALSO, it looks like with the watch on the RIGHT, the Marker for the 3 on the Sub-Dial lines up PERFECTLY with the 3 O'Clock baton marker on the main dial. While with the watch on the LEFT, the 3 Sub-Dial maker DOES NOT line up with the baton on the main dial? Unless that's just due to the angle of the photo?
@@StreetPreacherr yes there are APs with different date window locations. Yes the case size matters, too. I could not, however, find an AP online with 1) that size Audemars Piguet text, 2) no logo, 3) no “automatic” text, 4) with the more inward date. Not saying it’s fake, but I could not find one online

No watch expert but with 60 sec of research I would say the last watch is a fake (which is probably wrong) , not the 3's font that gives it away but the placement of the date window, it is too close to the center of the watch Royal Oaks with the date at 4:30 have the window almost right against the edge of the bezel as shown in Nico's picture and I double checked it against several photos from APs site none (of the Current ones) look like the the one Dr Mike has. However, I went and looked at used watches and the date on older Royal Oaks at numerous legit sellers seems to match Dr. Mike's SO they may have changed the internals at some point changing the date wheel style and location.

I don't know if there was a better way for you to address that last watch. Beautiful as it may be, I feel like if Dr. Mike got scammed, he would want to know.
Not the first integrated chronograph, but one of the first automatic chronographs. Breitling and Heuer were two of the collaborators on Project 99, one of the other claimants to that goal with the Cal 11. And the TAG Heuer Vanquish beat the F.P. Journe Centigraphe Souverain to market with a 1/100th mechanical chronograph and their Mikrogirder raised that to 1/2000th of a second (!) in 2012... and people say the recent Monaco was their first foray into haute horlogerie...

It had hands, the hands glowed in the dark, it had day and date on the face, so it had everything you could ask for in a watch. I think it had a turny thing on the outside but I never checked. I had a chronograph one once but never used that function so it was extra cost for no extra function, I think it was about £40, because the watch I had been wearing was discontinued, before I upgraded to the cheapest Apple Watch I’ve been wearing for maybe 5 years. There’s nothing wrong with fake watches, they’re still watches, they still tell the time, they still look like decent watches and they’re cheaper because they don’t have a 50,000% markup, except when sold as real in a scam obviously.

No, you are wrong. The ref 26320ST has a 10-20-30 subdial at 3 o’clock. The subdial shown on the doc’s watch at 3 o’clock is 12-3-6-9. Therefore, it is not the ref 26320ST. It’s a fake.

I'm wondering if the B-roll that was used to show the white AP was something taken from an open source and the producer didnt catch that the B-roll was actually showing a fake. The date isn't just the wrong font, it's also the wrong placement. And like Nico said, I would bet all his actual watches are the real deal
Start of this felt like old school Watchfinder ❤ reason why I fell in love with watches was the history and stories of the companies behind the watches
Wait wtf that date window is indeed in the correct spot in the actual photo with his dad wearing it.. zoom in you can actually see faintly that its all the way to the border edge of the dial…. So I think the close up pic is just a mistake that HODINKEE made since the watch wasn’t on set that day for the interview … but DAMN that’s alarming that HODINKEE fucked that up and didn’t realize they put a fuckin OBVIOUSLY fake watch on there.. strong, strong wtf

I recommended you doing this video like 2 years ago

Hey Nico, love your channel. I’m getting married next year and I want to buy my first proper dress watch for the wedding, I have 2k USD to spend, curious to know what you could recommend. - Much love, Dom
Hey nick seen this advertised watch brand never herd of Captain hook ceramic skeleton. Is any good movement really good
Nico finally coming after Doc Mike lol
I'm wondering if the B-roll that was used to show the white AP was something taken from an open source and the producer didnt catch that the B-roll was actually showing a fake. The date isn't just the wrong font, it's also the wrong placement. And like Nico said, I would bet all his actual watches are the real deal
Start of this felt like old school Watchfinder ❤ reason why I fell in love with watches was the history and stories of the companies behind the watches
great content do you mind telling me what watch does teddy swims has in lose control video? thanks
Wait wtf that date window is indeed in the correct spot in the actual photo with his dad wearing it.. zoom in you can actually see faintly that its all the way to the border edge of the dial…. So I think the close up pic is just a mistake that HODINKEE made since the watch wasn’t on set that day for the interview … but DAMN that’s alarming that HODINKEE fucked that up and didn’t realize they put a fuckin OBVIOUSLY fake watch on there.. strong, strong wtf
calling the el primero a copy of a daytona is like calling Beethoven a copy of Mozart, you just miss all the glaring differences to focus on a few similarities
I'm starting a wristwatch Chanel, your channel is a God, I'll aim towards your greatness,,I've got some good watches to start with so,
respect for donating to the dogs homes
