I just bought a 2023 Road King special. Had 4 miles on it. Got it yesterday. Already put 175 miles on it. Very incredible maneuverability. Very quick. Very comfortable.
2021 road king special is actually available in more colors than the three he mentioned but you won’t find them on the website. I had a 2021 RKS in black jack metallic
There's a reason why it's called the King... Best bike Harley make. Nothing on it that's not needed. No distractions. No nonsense. I don't even use a screen. I like the visceral experience of the wind slapping me about. Proper bike.
Congrats on the beautiful new RKS brother. I'm 65 and have never owned a Harley in 50 years of owning and riding motorcycles, but I have promised myself an RKs before I hit 70! Love the music mate, my style of sound. Great channel. Cheers from Australia.
I bought a Vulcan 900 as a starter bike based on your reviews and now upgraded to a roadking classic again based on you. Never been happier. Thanx Sean.
I tried the Road King for the first time a few days ago, I have seen so many videos about it. But the feelings I experienced I find in your words. I hope I can buy it soon. Thank you!
Congratulations on the new RK special. I love my Road King. But for me I just prefer the RK standard. Riding the RK just continues to put a smile on m face no matter where I take it,. In my opinion, it is the perfect motorcycle. Have a blast with yours.
I just picked up a 2021 road king special blacked out. Getting back into riding after kids grew up. Learning curve with 16 inch ape hangers. Awesome bike!!!!
@@DSPAINTWORKZ so I went to your channel to check it out and saw your nightfall video. I live in Chattanooga and was there that night but must have showed up a little after your video. So you do paint work?
I just bought a used ‘12 Road King classic, I fell in love with the leather wrapped bags, fog lights and chrome. But then again I am a 63 year OLD MAN. I will take that as a compliment.
I bought the same bike the 2012 road King classic back then you should be very happy with it I still have mine alongside the Yamaha FJR 13000 two completely different bike's when you just want to sit back and cruise the road King classic is fantastic I'd just prefer the FJR Yamaha for longer trips away and 2 up with a shaft drive stay safe and upright love from Australia 🦘🌏
I put Factor 47 Malo handlebars (14") on my 2019 Road King Special, and it changed everything! I"m 6'4" and found the stock RKS bars immensely uncomfortable. The Malo bars are super comfortable and look incredible. I know everyone has their thing, but those bars have really been a game changer for me. That and a new seat for the Mrs. and we ride all day long. Stay safe out there.
Bought a Road King Special in 2019 and road from Toronto Ontario to California and back. Best bike I've ever owned. Only upgrade was a tinted windshield and Vance and Hines slip ons (stock exhaust sounds like a hairdryer). Its pricey but this will be my ride for at least a decade or more.
Man I watch your videos all the time, just wish I could get my own first bike it's been a dream for years can't wait on that day I'm able to . Love your videos and the scripts.
I made the mistake of test riding a Harley or 3 in the last few months and suddenly my Yammy Bolt was just not big enough anymore. Called my not so local dealer and they had me the exact bike I wanted. Harleys aren’t cheap but I can justify the money if it’s exactly what I want. At 34 yrs old I got a Road King standard with the crimson and white paint. I absolutely love it. Needs bars more like the road glide or heritage but I can deal with it until it’s heated grip season lol. That’s a sweet bike Mr SRK!
i got me a deadwood green 2021 Road King about 2 weeks ago down here in Miami. It was fully loaded and damn expensive but it is beautiful and rides amazing.
@Ken A lot. Not over msrp but with all the bells and wistles its not a cheap bike. I used 2 trade ins and they both had possitive equity so that softened the blow. The dealer down here doesnt charge over msrp prices like i have heard some others do.
How big of a learning curve was it, given its' weight/size? I'm after an RKS for my first bike because I really don't want to start small only to sell it. I'd rather buy and learn on the one I want to ride for decades. Curious.
I bought my first bike from you guys in 2018, last summer the 2020 RKS , in black, was the next bike I bought. Fist thing I did was hwy pegs and mustang seat (solo) with backrest. I did put beach bars on it over the winter though. I loooooooove this bike. The RKS is just the perfect motorcycle. You can take what ever you need with you, you have full view of the open road, power for days, and a classic look that wills till look amazing in 20 years. The bike is perfection.
Sitting here in Louisiana watching your videos, I keep thinking " Man, these rides bring back memories". Then I click the srk link and find out why. I grew up in that general area. Columbia County.
Twice my saddle bag guards saved me a ton of money. Once out fell off stand on garage floor another tume 75 mph wind gust nocked it over. So glad to have the guards because those bags are 700$ a peace
These are sick, and the colors they come in are absolutely top. I love the satin white, gray, blue, and even the yellow, they all look incredible, especially on top of the black hardware. The LEDs are on point too. Might be getting about time to trade in my 2012 Road King Classic lol
The bike I always wanted since I was about 20 years old and im 40 now! The Road King is why I got into riding and I still haven't gotten one but this is the year I'm doing it! I'm going in June to the dealership and gonna check out the 2023 and 2024 but to me it makes more sense to get a new 23 for $1k cheaper and black standard color.
We in Ontario, Canada have a lot of traffic circles (rather than stoplights). There is nothing I love more than going through those traffic circles at a good speed on my bike. That is my thrill in life. LOL
Nice video Sean. I did a long term review of my 2017 Road King Special last year. I love mine, but I had to change the stock bars because they had a weird angle to them. I replaced the bars though and now couldn’t be happier with the bike.
I just bought my first road king a few months ago. I live in Belgium and I think there is only one deadwood green on the road here and it's mine 😁. It's an awsome color. Enjoy brother.
Couldn’t agree with your review more. Have the 2017 RKS 107 in olive gold and five years later still feel the same way about how it looks and rides as you describe so well in this video. Added the defiance highway pegs and grips, removable rider and passenger backrest, and 12” handlebars. Kept the original pipes but have the removable wind-splitter vented windshield depending how I want to ride that day. Great bike, great review (as per usual).
I rode my friends Road King. I was amazed, I couldn't feel a single bump in the road. It was like riding in an open air Cadillac.. lol I have a removable windscreen on my Heritage Softtail classic. I only use it when I go on long rides. Such as when I went from Las Vegas to Shreveport LA.
Got my RKS back in May, absolutely love it!! Doesn’t feel like a bagger at all, surprisingly nimble for how girthy she is : ) I threw some cobra neighbor hater pipes on it, not the loudest at idle but when you’re smashing that throttle it sounds like a little v8 or a subie ha ha ha anyways congratulations on the bike brother!! Great looking bike. I have an 01 RK, my lady and I love it for long rides. Around town, my old 1200 sportster (with a ton of performance and other mods) is a kick in the pants. I would change the exhaust on this one though, nothing crazy, just something that makes it sound a little more Harley-like
Srkcycles Sean I have a 2012 Yamaha Raider S in Raven glossy metallic black but if I couldn't get a Raider I would have gotten a HD Breakout, HD, Heritage, or HD RoadKing Special. I love the RoadKing Special for the same reason you do, its a comfortable, good looking, touring bike with no windshield, and yes I know the windshield pops off easy on the RoadKing standard but I also love the blacked out look of the Special. But since I don't like the look of bags I would probably go with the HD Breakout and throw quick disconnect leather looking hard plastic bags on it for long trips. But either way the Breakout or the RoadKing both look and sound awesome. Enjoy your new ride Sean and please don't blow up the engine putting all that power into. Ride safe bro.
I had one of these in black jack metallic. It does have some less stuff, but it also has more. It’s got a good bit of tech including cornering ABS and a hill-hold feature. Thoroughly enjoyed that bike but ultimately I traded it back in after 3 months of ownership for a road glide. Turned out I really needed that fairing for all the interstate commuting I do, plus I do enjoy the radio a lot, but the gps is kinda crap. lol
@@back-woods I just hate how the gps goes from left to right across the screen instead of up and down. I just bought one. 2021 FLHP Vivid black. I like black and chrome. Blacked out is BORING! I like the 114. All police bikes come with RDRS as standard equipment.
Got a new Road Glide in March and what I miss is the view and the breeze in the summer. Radio and nav are nice but a distraction. And maneuvering in the garage with the fairing is a PITA. Really missing my Heritage and this video has me SERIOUSLY thinking of a Road King.
A little late with my comment, but I bought a 2022 and absolutely love it. The few changes I wanna make are the handlebars, the seat, and lower the rear about an inch. I plan on doing more, but those are the musts for me, for now.
Came across your video randomly while searching on YT. Love the honesty about splurging on yourself and that you listen to Taylor Swift while riding. Awesome video. Love your style man.
Different strokes for different folks, that is why they make so many different types of motorcycles. Glad you like your new bike. Remember, it's not what you ride, it's where you are going! Have a blessed day.
Thanks when I purchase a Road King I have been struggling with the standard or the special because my wife does like to ride with me occasionally. Love the special maybe different seat and shocks?
Buy the Special. A thorough Harley dealer will remove the saddle and install a demo seat to let you try for a week (Boston Harley does this) so you can make an informed decision. And the shock is easy to adjust. Two clicks on the equal one full turn. My ‘21 RKS shock was delivered to me set up for a 180lbs rider. I went to the lowest setting as I’m about 160lbs. When I ride with my wife and adjust for her weight I turn the adjuster 28 clicks or 14 360deg turns. If you can find a new 2020 even better. Easier to find the SE tuner on the 2020 if you’re going that route and the full sized crash bar is far more protective and can be upgraded with wind protection; whereas the chopped crash bar on the ‘21 can’t accept much more than highway bars.
I rode a 95 Road King and hated pretty much everything about it other than the sound. I just borrowed a 2022 Road King from my dad for a long trip and loved everything about it. Great running and handling bike. Comfortable. Decent power. They've come a long way.
I picked up a new 2021 road king special in March. It’s black jack metallic. It was a color not offered but they scatter some “Easter eggs” across the country. Definitely have to extend the brake pedal if you’re over 6’ tall😂
@srkcycles I'm wanting to cahnge from my 99 dyna to a roadking, will be my only bike and intend keeping her long term. Is the Milwaukee 8 worthe the extra $$ over the twin cam?
Nice bike i got a 21 street glide 107 river rock grey in April of 2021.. You can order what you want if you have a high volume dealer that sells a lot. Appalachia HD in Mechanicsburg was the only dealer that got what i wanted. Harleys are not fast dont care what model. Triumph will kick ass with over 220 hp in their 2500 cc rocket. And just sticking to cruisers. Bikes are all fun.
Love the old custom's protruding headlight.Only RK I would buy. Congrats on your new bike Sean!Looks stunning!I agree with you Sean on exhoust.Nothing puts me off then obnoxious laud exhausts lot of HD owners do and makes me think maybe these riders are too scared to ride so they must announce everyone in the neighborhood they are riding...
I’m fixing to get a little older road king. I can’t stand the headlight setup on them and would like to know if you could swap them to make it look like the newer ones? And if I put a newer model front fender and different wheel would I need a spacer?
Shaun you are so right about music on that gorgeous bike. I laugh when two riders stop for the light and the two riders are screaming at each because the music is loud and the muffler is loud and they are actually not talking but yelling as though they were fifty feet apart. As per the colors, always love the Ivory or a cherry candy apple color on a bike, my preference, every one has black bikes.
Love your content 1st of all. 2nd I own a 2014 Fxdb and the RK is next on my list. I checked a bunch of custom RK 114s in cali with ape hangers that only needed exhaust systems installed. Nice rides for sure..
I had an 03 RK and then an 06 RK custom. They were great bikes. I’m on the Street glide now because I did like having a radio. My 03 had a detachable fairing with a radio and I really missed that on my 06
Love my road king, but riding with a full face helmet is too loud. Feel beaten up after a ride if I wear one. Sean might be a stupid question but do you wear a full face helmet when riding your road king, and if you do, which one? How do you ride without getting too much trapped noise?
I think the look of the road king is sick. I really like that blue road king I hope to have in my garage!🤣 seriously tho they nailed it with the new “special” models! All black is the way to go!
I have 2021 RKS Black Jack Metallic (Few of them off color) Added Fused Bars, Windsplitter, Cam, LED Turn Signals and the rest Aesthetics. I love it. Only thing I considered is replacing the Speedometer with Upgraded One.
@@viktorkatona7521 I’m 6 foot tall. They are a good quality bar BUT they don’t have any pullback. If your looking for more pullback (on your wrist) there are better options. I pull and push through turns so that modified Z Bar works good for me. You’ll need: Clutch Extension About 2 inch longer front brake line Wire Extensions Test fit your windshield/fairing if you using one. Should be good otherwise!
I agree with you about the look over the head lights verses a fairing. I love the bench bar over the three chrome domes on my classic when weather permits here in Wisconsin- get compliments on it all the time. Seems to bring something out of the bike that the shield "hides" somehow, Fairings do work very well for long distance touring though like on had on my Nomad. Better then my quick detach shield for some reason. Wish they made bat wings to be more "quick detach" then they do...
Vivid black is BY FAR the best color for any harley you plan on modifying, all the color matched parts are sold in vivid black are WAY WAY cheaper than any other color! Most places charge the same price for vivid black as they do for unpainted parts.

I was offered a 2013 Harley Davidson Switchback with 20,000 miles and for a great price. It has been kept in the garage well maintain and upgrade stage 2 on exhaust and pipes. Family member selling to me. Is this a good bike to purchase for my first bike.
I agree with you , I had a ROAD KING then i went to a Streetglide special , but i liked the road king better .I might go back to the Roadking .Will see.
New seat, 14" fat bagger bars, some ohlin shocks and it's good to go. & Maybe a high flow air cleaner and some bassasni 2 into 1 long pipes with a fuel map ;) Proud owner here.
Whoa, third person camera shots! Too cool. Really enjoy your MC reviews!!!
Different strokes for different folks, that is why they make so many different types of motorcycles. Glad you like your new bike. Remember, it's not what you ride, it's where you are going! Have a blessed day.
One of only a couple Harley's I'd be interested in. Love how simple and subtle it is. Also nice its not obnoxiously loud.
I bought mine 3 months ago. I love everything about it. I put highway pegs on and now, it’s perfect for me
Thanks when I purchase a Road King I have been struggling with the standard or the special because my wife does like to ride with me occasionally.
Great review! Pleasantly surprised by the break for a Romans read. Nice touch!
I picked up a new 2021 road king special in March. It’s black jack metallic. It was a color not offered but they scatter some “Easter eggs” across the country. Definitely have to extend the brake pedal if you’re over 6’ tall😂
Feel exactly the same regarding fairings and radios and all the techno stuff on thrown on bikes today. Beautiful bike.
Ended up buying this same bike today. They are having to do a 3 way dealer trade across the country to get me one. Can't wait till it comes in!
I’m fixing to get a little older road king. I can’t stand the headlight setup on them and would like to know if you could swap them to make it look like the newer ones? And if I put a newer model front fender and different wheel would I need a spacer?
Yes they make LED headlight swaps for older road kings
Absolutely Spectacular, Majestic and Beautiful bike!!!, No doubt at all my favorite motorcycle!!!, Great video and thanks for The information!!!
I have 2021 RKS Black Jack Metallic (Few of them off color) Added Fused Bars, Windsplitter, Cam, LED Turn Signals and the rest Aesthetics. I love it. Only thing I considered is replacing the Speedometer with Upgraded One.
why replace the speedo?
I have just purchased the 2023 RKS. thinking about buying the HD fused bars. What's your experience? May I ask you how tall you are? thanks
@@viktorkatona7521 I’m 6 foot tall. They are a good quality bar BUT they don’t have any pullback. If your looking for more pullback (on your wrist) there are better options. I pull and push through turns so that modified Z Bar works good for me. You’ll need:
Clutch Extension
About 2 inch longer front brake line
Wire Extensions
Test fit your windshield/fairing if you using one. Should be good otherwise!
@@anchorsaweigh9893 Thanks a lot! I'll check this Z Bar out!
Just bought a 2022 RK Special in mineral green. I love it!
How tall are you? Love everything about the RKS EXCEPT the bars.
Nice bike…. 2009 Fatboy here… If I ever upgrade it will indeed be a Road King. 👌🏾
What’s the top speed? I’ve got a 2022 RKS and have had it to 100mph and felt like it had plenty to give… going stage one this weekend.
The street glide of baggers
And I can’t do a fairing either. Years of racing motocross as a kid/teenager. I need to see everything too haha
Just purchased the 2022 RKS in mineral green denim. Absolute blast.
My favorite Harley! Been waiting for this one.
Will you send the turbo cvo to me down here in Australia??
Hi Sean. This is Ted from Texas checking in. Congratulations on buying a new Harley Davidson. I think I've told you before, but I am a porter the Harley-Davidson dealership in San Antonio Texas. I'm kind of hooked on Harleys. I enjoy your videos Man and look forward to seeing. I like the some of the crazy stunts you do with motorcycles. Drive safe enjoy the road.
Me personally the old men of yesteryear had more taste with the chrome.
I wasn't quite ready to buy a new bike but the RKS is on my shortlist. This video is really making it hard to resist.
Have they fixed the oil sump and head bolt problems?
RK vs. Springfield?
Such a beautiful bike!!👏
Great looking bike. Have a question. I have never rode a motorcycle and will be taking the safety coarse on riding motorcycles. I was offered a 2013 Harley Davidson Switchback with 20,000 miles and for a great price. It has been kept in the garage well maintain and upgrade stage 2 on exhaust and pipes. Family member selling to me. Is this a good bike to purchase for my first bike.
This is a great looking bike, I love the colour and the stripped down look so you get nice open views 🤙🏻
Great review thanks. How do you rate the saddle on it please?
The green is so rad and reminds me of vintage ww2 Harley’s. One day one day.
I have a 2018 in Olive Gold. Love it, hated the bars!
I agree with you , I had a ROAD KING then i went to a Streetglide special , but i liked the road king better .I might go back to the Roadking .Will see.
Can you take off the side compartments?
Nailed it! I modified a 2017 FLHRXS as my forever bike!
New seat, 14" fat bagger bars, some ohlin shocks and it's good to go. & Maybe a high flow air cleaner and some bassasni 2 into 1 long pipes with a fuel map ;) Proud owner here. Stock bars are way to wide for most people and cause numbness after an hour or so. If you buy one try to negotiate some apes or anything else into the sale.
Lovely bike Sean , does one cylinder shut down ..when not needed on this model ?
Hello from Christchurch New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤️ I really love the new road king too …. also thank you for making all these videos cheers
So I have a 2021 vaquero. How does the road king compare. I want a harley
The southern back roads into Lititz are always a nice ride
Excellent vid. I saw the snake venom at the dealership and it was SICKK!
Great videos dude, love when you do Harleys. You gotta do something about ads every 10 seconds on your Snapchat though!
*I like riding a big-bad-ass-bike without the windshield !* Congratulations on the purchase, Sean.
It’s always crazy seeing a guy with this big a channel riding around the roads I use everyday
Whose that ? The guy from fort nine ?
+1 for that Snake Venom green.
The Road King is awesome.
This or the newer Fat Bob would be the perfect bike for me. Nice choice! Living the dream.
I'm in the market for a Road king it will be my first HD I currently own a 2013 Kawasaki zx6r 636 . What years would you recommend for my fist Road king looking to cholo it out. Thanks
I have an ‘18 softtail lowrider, and have the saddlemen explorer seat with a back rest and it’s a game changer. I really want a road glide tho
I have a 2009 road king. They are amazing bikes. Great video.
