I am so looking forward to cool temps , Brisk morning with coffee on the porch , good food, family gatherings, handmade blankets …. The colors of the leaves 🍁 changing … everything pumpkin …, but it will be 102 today so.., we have a long way off before FALL.

My favorite fall treat is oatmeal for a lazy breakfast. My husband and I are both bacon-and-eggs people when it comes to breakfast, but sometimes on a slow fall morning, I’ll make oatmeal instead, cooked with apple and raisins, then topped with peanut butter. So good, and warming on a cooler morning.
I’m originally from Southwest Indiana. You are correct it is hot and muggy all the way up to the first week of October. Generally, in October it rains that first week … and after that, that’s when everything starts to turn to fall, but it’s like clockwork every year all the way up to the first week of October. In Southwest Indiana we refer to it as summer doesn’t come till after the fall festival on Franklin Street.
Lisa, I am with you about not rushing the seasons. To me, too, October is when fall starts and to me it's still summer (where I live!) My mother used to make broth only with the neck and the legs of the chicken, so she use it all, it also gave it a thick texture. These parts cost nothing, and if you are buying a whole chicken with the organs you can use it this way and avoid waste (personally I don't eat meat for many years, so mine is homemade vegetable stock which I love).

Fall recipes ❤️ I make your recipes so often I know a ton of them just by memory 🤣 we just had your southwest chicken salad for lunch, just picked herbs for herb meatloaf for supper tonight & I have sourdough dinner rolls rising for tomorrow’s supper. I just use your recipes because my kids love them too and everything is just sooo delicious
I am like you fall is not until the 21 lol I live in northern Michigan and we have what you call Indian summers where is warm now until mid October and very cool nights I love when fall hits and we can have those dishes that warm us inside and out too.

These all looked so good and I want to channel in fall as soon as possible. I picked out the stuffed squash to make first. Didn't have acorn squash so I got butternut. I also roasted a head of garlic with it. The stuffing was overflowing (should have bought two butternuts) but was delicious!! And my whole house smells wonderful! Can't wait to make the maple chicken tomorrow!
Wow, as much as I love butternut sage ravioli, it would never have occurred to me to do a pumpkin sauce on pasta, can’t wait to try! The maple chicken too!

With the pandemic crisis still raging through the USA right now, I worry About food availability eventually. Idk if there is going to be a surge of unemployment now that the vaccine is mandoratory in a lot of large businesses. I could See a shortage in truckers and factory workers. ANYWAY, what I wanted To ask is- could you possibly do a video on canning and stocking up food in case things get out of hand? I’ve started making spaghetti sauce from the tomatoes and herbs in our garden but, I need Other ideas. Would canning Meat be beneficial? Thanks! I look Forward to more wonderful videos.
