Am I the only one who noticed how The Doctor casually recapped the whole series from 1963 to up to the Time War?
Beyond the Time War. The Time Lords returned during Smith's era, but then the genocide the Doctor refers to here happened; they were wiped out and converted into Cyber Masters by the Master.

No, it was very forced and clearly meant for a new viewership. Trying to rebrand to a new audience with a gay black doctor. Probably going to fail as badly as the female doctor.

So him snapping his fingers to "activate" the tardis and later on snapping while talking and nothing happening...on top of him being able to open and close the tardis doors with a snap makes me think its because of his psychic link with the tardis...wonder if one day he can use the link to summon the tardis without even needing to snap his fingers?
It's hard to know where to begin with replying to that comment due to how many things that would break.
@@Rocksteady72a yeah it would probably be overpowered to be able to do something like that, but even so it's possible, though the doctor would probably need some kinda device to amplify the connection when he's not near the tardis since we have only seen him be able to do the stuff mentioned before when near it.
What i loved about RTDs first era was the build up to wear the doctor came from, who his people were and why the Tardis looks like a police box. Spouting out all the information in one small scene at a beginning of a story that new viewers might forget happened isn't the greatest IMO.

It’s really diminishing returns. This would be the fourth (maybe even fifth) time the doctor’s past is hidden from the viewer and in an age of internet and fandom then it’s highly unlikely a new fan can keep themselves free of knowing gallifrey or the time lords until the show tells them. And if we’re being honest, 9 basically tells rose most of this stuff at the end of episode 2 anyway.
It’s a better way of setting up more mysteries.

Different strokes for different folks. RTD was telling a different story in the first Eccleston season than he was telling in this season, so he told it differently. If he did it exactly the same way this time it would feel like a rehash.
The whole intro to the TARDIS to Ruby was basically a summarized version of some things of what I need to know about Doctor Who lol

Ncuti Gatwa delivers the information so beautifully. Excellent scenes. Great introduction.
This scene was fun for giving new audiences the essential basic information about the Doctor and the Tardis to get invested in the show, and also the chance for Ncuti to convince new and pre-existing audiences that he is the Doctor with his own take on presenting this information.
I thought RTD got the infodump done efficiently and, with NG's delivery, gave it punch and style. RTD has made some definite missteps this season (Sutekh was a great idea to bring back but so much scarier in 1975, as my six-yr-old self could attest) - but this bit wasn't one of them. Worked for me and I've been a fan forever
Wait, I thought Gallifrey lives or falls no more? It was kept in a pocket universe, 13th doctor went to galllifrey the long way around towards the end of the universe.
We have dinosaurs outside right now. We usually call them birds and we don't need to travel 150 million years in the past to meet them.
I wish they'd brought the rtd 1 era tardis dematerialisation effect back, its never looked better than back then

I will still never get over the fact that the whole purpose of the 50th anniversary was the doctor saving galifrey just to in almost 10 years time take it away again. There could have been so many stories to be told with galifrey being back.

Kinda disappointed they forgot about the doctor changing the lighting in his TARDIS but overall I do enjoy this doctor a bit, just wish they didn’t make the big bads power seem like it’s only weakness is a smart rope

I've always thought rtds openers were weak, except for partners in crime. This was sadly the worst, although I do enjoy this first segment it all goes downhill when they get to the ship
RTD’s openers or first proper adventures are normally like that (New Earth, Shakespeare Code and without the comedy Partners in crime)

Obviously not because season 2 is already shot and in post production. So it's still very much ongoing.

@@user-ef7kt5sf6o Having an episode about the pirate queen played by a beautiful Asian woman that doesn't get killed off in an episode; that alone makes Sea Devils leaps and bounds better than babies in space with CGI from the early 2000s.
Definitely on the lower end. But it's better than Series 11-13 and a few _really_ bad Series 1-10 episodes.
It may be meh, but It's not the worst.

NO thanks to the Woke Mind Virus freaks that ruined the show, causing all of the peeps who loved Doctor Who to stop watching it. That caused the ratings to tank. Well at least David Tennant got his bag of money, funny how that worked out. He came out and Circle back with the Woke mind Virus freaks. He lost quite a bit of viewers but not enough to stop that check. We all know why bc of Fe Fees Nostalgia. He went Full WokTard. That started the show on downward spiral just like a jet plane there is no recovery. Y'all all is not lost, at least we have our OG Doctors. Before any of the Woke Abomination happened, so there that. All of the Good OG Doctors are just waiting for you at Tubi it free.
