You should never put first gear while being in a higher gear while rolling quite fast. You should put first gear only when you're rolling with about 5 to 10max mph or the best, put first gear while you completely stopped. I just noticed that when you were both talking about the blipping exhaust. Congrats for the car, its amazing!
+Vane Naumovski it would have done some damage if the car would have juddered, but it appeared like a smooth change so wouldnt have done any more that normal shifting, i do agree with you but every transmission is different and this one seemed to handle his down shift to first ok
Makes me wince when he talks about being able to connect a phone as being a main reason for wanting to drive the car..! Has it really come to this? Turn your phone off, strip out the technology and enjoy one of the best drivers cars in a generation
The manual only thing is the reason why I cancelled my pre-order over a year ago. Mechanical grip is for sure better but I wouldn't want to miss the PDK.

There were rumors prior to the release that a PDK equipped GT4 prototype was quicker than the GT3. Porsche has one of the best dual clutch transmissions, why not offer it? At least the normal PDK, not even the S-PDK from the GT3. It's all there to keep it below the 911. Oh sure, they did it to make a "pure" sports car. Yeah right. I'm a Porsche fan but I don't support stuff like that. I'm glad that the Manual fans have a new halo car with the GT4 (and now the 911R). But I still want a customer selectable transmission option, not something fixed. I hope that will change in the future because the GT devision cars will be the only Porsches left with NA engines.

Well, it does almost a 100 mph in 3rd gear. Granted you can change the ratios, but with the 2.7 Cayman's ratio's it would be a lot faster/more enjoyable.
It has to suck to have these awesome sports cars perfect for carving up canyon roads and live in London with nowhere to drive them and the worlds most congested traffic.

Number plates when in the format "XX02 ZZZ", the XX is the area of the UK that the car was registered in, 02 is the period in which the car was registered (02 being from 1 March 2002 to 31 August 2002, 52 would be from the period 1 September 2002 to 28 February 2003 and on the cycle goes 03, 53, 04, 54 etc), ZZZ is three random letters. If the owner puts a personalised or vanity plate on the car, as in the case of the GT4 in this video, the GT04 doesn't relate to how old the car is or where it was registered...clear as mud?!

It doesn't even matter. In a petrol car you need to shift earlier to first gear to have torque to overtake/accelerate.

My 981 Spyder is super glue too around corners. I think it is the Turbo S rack in it and the torque vectoring more than the tyre compound.
