I love watching Over the Garden Wall on Halloween. The whole show has immaculate spooky fall vibes, but Pottsfield is my favorite episode for the aesthetics as well. I actually got a plushie that reminded me of the folks in the town (Mini Squishable Scarecrow from Squishable). I'm sorry you wasted time on the Thomas Tryon book, it sounds like all the things I dislike in a horror book. I once had Dark Harvest on my TBR based on the awesome cover, but after looking into it more I had taken it off. Garlic and the Vampire is on my list, I'm glad to hear it was as nice as I thought it would be.

Thank you so much!! 💛✨ And I literally don’t think I’ve ever filmed without getting interrupted by a cat, so it might end up being a channel staple 😅

I watch “Over the Garden Wall” very recently and i think I was close when you post that video ( I checked and I watched it on 16 of October and you post that one day earlier that so funny)
I’m obsessed with that series it had such an amazing vibe and I was really surprised with the ending and I loved it. ❤️
“Dark harvest” has such a vibe when it comes to cover.
Your partner is amazing when it comes to present and I am in love with the crochet frog 🐸
I want to read “Garlic vampire” and “Garlic Witch” so much and know I want to do that even more 🧄

'Harvest Home' inspired Stephen Kings 'Children of the Corn'. I am currently reading 'Harvest Home' and you are correct, it is a slow moving story. I am going to finish the book though. I have a hard time DNFing books.

I fully support you! I hope you enjoy it more than I did 😊 Maybe I should try Children of the Corn and see if that goes any better for me 🤔

That is super good to know about Harvest Home cause I'll just happily remove that from my TBR. With horror I've found that if I want to learn about the classics, that I'll stick with the movie adaptations unless it's not written by a man, or isn't from 1920s/earlier since I tend to be able to give their very problematic elements a lot more leeway (case in point the number of HP Lovecraft which is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh REAL bad at times)

Those are fantastic rules of thumb! I’m on the hunt for some lady horror authors of the era to try out, but in the end I’ll survive if that era of horror just isn’t for me 🤷‍♀️
