You saved me 25 quid. Had a trolly jack lying around for years not working. Spent an hour cleaning it all up and now it works great. Cheers

You my friend are F@#%ing brilliant. I've been searching or an two hours for that part (which I have no idea what the name is and was about to buy another jack until I came across this. I don't know what other tricks you have in store, but I'm going to go through your videos now.
Thanks bro I appreciate it. 🍻
Thanks for sharing your experience on how to get it fixed again sir. I will give it a try. Best regards.
Thanks man
I have the same problem and couldn’t wrap my head around it because I over think lol. You’re video was a big help

Thank you very much!! I couldn't figure out why the piston wasn't going up. I didn't realize that there was a clip making it go up. I just ordered the entire cylinder and clip for $10. Just have to wait a freaking month, but what the heck I was about to throw it out.
Nice, excellent save! Thanks for watching i really appreciate it! Cheers and happy thanksgiving
Thanks for this helpful video bro. finally i have fixed my croc jack now.
Thanks, friend, you saved me a few quid!
Thank you so much for this video! On mine the connector was a little C-shape and it had simply popped off the piston. Take apart, push out this piston, reconnect. Fixed! Without watching this I wouldn't have know what it was supposed to do.
Thank you for watching 🍻
Thanks for this vid! It turns out the clip had popped off (looks to be spring steel, FYI) on my jack and I didn't catch that that was the issue (didn't know how it was supposed to be assembled).
I found one on a sidewalk that has the same problem. Made a connector which connects a piston to a lever and it works again. Thanks for your video.
Very cool 👍🏼 thanks for watching
Love the homemade piston clip. Thanks for the advice 👌

@@ATEMOFFROAD Unfortunately it was so far gone that it it ended up in the scrap pile, but I'll remember this vid! Thanks!
nice! I have 10 -15 year old duralast jack I gave to my son who lost the pole for it. Its been sitting in my garage for a number of years but now does not lift and was wondering if any has any idea what I could use for a pole instead and what may be the problem why its not lifting. thanks.
I was wondering where u can order the parts from
Dont know if you said always use jackstands
Always 🍻
If you notched it a bit smaller than piston it snaps on no wire
Alan Matthews (good idea). ideally it needed a retainer clip that I was not interested in getting at the time, so I improvised and use wire, still works great. Thanks for watching
This is the same problem I'm having with mine. The piece you made to connect the pin to the plunger/piston appears to be better than the one it came with. Imagine taking a piece of carbon steel strap about 5/8" wide x 2-1/2" long with semicircles ground into each end. Now jam one of those semicircles into the slot/groove that's around the end of the plunger/piston. Then brake it up 90°, then brake 90° to go over the top of plunger/piston, then brake back down 90°, then brake it back into the opposing side of the plunger/piston, jamming the other semicircle into the slot/groove, thus capturing the plunger/piston in a way that allows the linking pin between top of plunger/piston and under the carbon steel strap. ..maybe it's high carbon steel because it is a bit springy. But it bent open to come free from plunger/piston..
It sucks. I had a shot at sand blasting the rust off the p/p but was too impatient and thought I could just blast it with ATF and force it back into operation. Anyway, thanks for showing me what I needed to see. I wasn't sure if it was under pressure at that point
@jdog nice, thanks for watching. I appreciate it. That sounds like it would work good too, glad that you found this helpful. Now I remember I once though it was under pressure myself! Cheers.
@@ATEMOFFROAD I just finished getting my little assembly all cleaned up and lubed and ready to thread back into the jack. Did you have to bleed it or anything when you got it all buttoned back up?
Mi gato no levanta y tira el aceite por la vavula de lebantar ayuda por favor
Thanks, I used this to fix a seized floor jack that I had left in the spare tire well of my car for years like an idiot. I do have one follow-up question: the jack works again, but I've got hydraulic fluid seeping out from the exposed threads where the piston cylinder screws into the fluid reservoir. Besides torquing that piston cylinder as tight as I can with a wrench, is there anything more I can do to seal that up so that it doesn't leak anymore? Thanks!
Ben St. Hilaire I suppose you can use some plumbers tape
@@ATEMOFFROAD OK thanks I'll give that a try
Thanks brother. This videos help me a lots 👍

I will have to try this on one I picked up tonight
Thanks for watching
Anyone know how he got the top piece off so I can wrench this nut off??????
I hate when people skip through steps
You will have to remove the cotter pin , then slide out the wrists pin retaining both the jacks lever and the connection to the pump piston! Then you can get complete access to that the top piece. Thanks for watching 🍻
That jack is only worth 10 bucks throw it away and buy another one get a real Jack, Jack
